(S29) PT 1 - Training Camp

The season is just starting but Yellowknife training camp was an interesting one this season. With the summer approaching in Yellowknife, temperatures were balmy and the usual training drills were not possible due to the above freezing temperatures. Running across the frozen lake chased by wolves and building snowmen that look identical to Yellowknife legend Cooter Bigsby are staples of the training camp most seasons but the lake was not frozen for once, confusing coaches for the first day. Instead the coaches just stared into the distance for the first 3 hours of the first day, confusing the new players to the team. After that they just started pushing everyone into the water until they ran away. A football wasn’t picked up until the 3rd day when QB Colby Jack asked what this egg shaped object was. Colby reboots every season so you never know which Colby you’re going to get and this one had forgotten that football exists. However in a rocky style montage, he started to train and throw balls out over the lake for WRs to catch on jetskis, which went horribly to start with and resulted in the death of ex-Yellowknife WR Dre Matthews but Eddie Jeeta was called up to take his place. Big Slammu made plenty of interceptions as he is a shark and more at home in the non frozen lake.
