Another offseason come and gone. I am already entering my 4th season on the Philadelphia Liberty. The Liberty had a busy offseason and added a bunch of great looking rookies in the draft. As one of the veterans on the defense it was up to me to mentor the new players on defense. I immediately took the two new Defensive Ends Lucid Dreams and Tomme Salami under my wing and welcomed them to the front 7. A tradition for the rookies is to have them bring water/Gatorade for everyone on the defense for the entirety of training camp. Of course, Lucid forgot them twice in the first week and his punishment was to run laps only wearing their jockstrap. It may seem juvenile, but it does help build up team rapport. That being said, it is still hilarious even after all these years.
The front office has really done a good job building up the defensive side of the ball. We went 110% this offseason and I really feel like we are going to wreak havoc on opposing offenses. This is a very tight unit and training camp has only helped push us to the best of our ability. The Liberty are going to be force in Season 29.
