Coming off of the best season of my career I was more than ready to get training camp started. I wanted to build on the momentum from last year and help push my team toward the Ultimus. I was also excited to get on the field with my new teammates and see what they were all about.
After a quick "welcome back" from the coaches we hit the field to go through our very first walkthrough. I immediately made my way to our two new additions on defense, veteran Keʻokeʻo Kāne-Maikaʻi and fresh callup Mongo. I wanted to make sure they both knew they could pick my brain at any point about the nuances of our defensive system. The New York defense is like a family and our new family members were embraced immediately. It turns out that Mongo is actually a bit of a practical joker, and he ended up pulling an epic prank on Bob Roberts. I'm just not allowed to tell you exactly what happened. For legal reasons.
I also made a point to seek out our new running back, Brandon Prince. He was working on drills with Captain Rogers and the legend Buster Bawlls when I approached. We hit it off immediately, and I've just got a feeling that this kid is going to be something special in this league.
Training camp was a great way to get back into the swing of things. Now it's time to get out on the field and hit someone.
