The birddogs are going to be improving throughout the season, especially after signing new safety Richard Mansher off the waiver wire. They currently are 1-2 after the first three games in the DSFL. Dallas went 3-1 in the pre-season, and at the start of the season had two incredibly close games. Their first loss included them blowing a 19-22 lead to lose 28-22 to the KC coyotes. The birddog’s best receiver Toastovich also had a great game with over a hundred yards with just five receptions. The second game was another close loss 20-17 to the Portland Pythons. The birddogs would continue to get unlucky on third downs this game as well doing worse and going a horrific 1/16. The Pythons were also able to churn out over a hundred more offensive yards with fewer penalties to top it off. The third game was a rematch against the Coyotes that showed the true potential of the Birddog’s. This included going 5/12 on third down and returning the favour with 447 offensive yards. They also had a diversity of offensive and defensive contributors with Richard Mansher playing his first game. This led to his first sack and a couple of tackles. Dallas continues to impress, and I look forward to seeing them progress to the top of the standings shortly! Dallas has 76 PF vs 75 PA, which is a better ratio in my opinion than the current first place Tijuana Luchadores who have a 51-67 points differential. The team barely beat the Pythons who had a close win vs the Birddog’s, and their defense is showing signs of weakness, while their offense shows inconsistency.
