Miles Weperom doesn't read many of the letters he gets from fans. Quite frankly, he doesn't have the time, but he still manages to see about five per month. Most of them are artwork from kids or hate mail from other team's fans, but he stumbled upon a handwritten letter with "PLEASE READ" written in large letters and circled in red at the top of the page. It was a birthday party invitation for a 9 year old fan. Miles knew he wanted to do something about this and the party was in a week. He quickly sprang into action and contacted the team media managers, apparel managers, and some teammates. Miles would spend much of his free time the next week coordinating a memorable surprise experience for this young fan and his family. The day of the party Miles arrived to the family's house in a limousine with teammates Stewart Hellraiser, Sal Ami, Nick Back, and Clifford Wilson. The players heard the party in the backyard and each of them was carrying a big box of Seawolves swag. As they entered the backyard and people recognized them there was a mix of cheers and looks of astonishment. Miles and company would hand out various items to all the people at the party and Miles went straight for the birthday boy, Landon, to give a huge hug. He then showed the young fan his phone and a tweet from the Norfolk Seawolves official Twitter which invited the family to the next home game as VIP guests. The boy was so excited he grabbed Miles' phone and ran to show his parents. Landon's mother began to cry and slowly walked toward Miles to not only thank him for everything he did today, but just for taking the time to read the letter she sent.
