Being over halfway through the season at this point, the Colorado Yeti currently find themselves at the top of the NSFC and tied for the best record in the league with the New York Silverbacks. While obviously that level of success means there are multiple big time contributors on both sides of the ball, I’d like to throw a shout out to one player in particular. Sure there are some legendary players currently playing for the Yeti that everybody thinks of first. People like quarterback Mattathias Caliban and wide receiver William Lim leading the infamous Colorado passing game, and linebacker Melvin Murder-Moose on defense who is currently top 3 in sacks for the league. But in my opinion, the real standout player for us this season has been our rookie wide receiver Cole Maxwell. Cole joined the Yeti as part of the S28 draft class and after being sent down one season while playing safety in the DSFL, he was called up this season to play receiver. The result has been nothing short of phenomenal. Despite being the 3rd wide receiver on the Yeti offense, Maxwell is currently 3rd in the entire league in receiving yards, and at this point is likely a shoe-in for offensive rookie of the year. There were times last season where the Colorado offense sputtered, and bringing up Maxwell seems to have been the spark we needed to get things back on track.
