T3, Task 25 – Another Position (2.5 TPE)
C.J. Sonjack, Cornerback. It has a ring to it. This player was born to be a shutdown CB, but if I was at the point of starting another player, I think that I would go with a runningback. I am not a football junkie, and I would consider myself a very casual fan, but seeing a dominant runningback breaking through the hole in the line of scrimmage and sprinting for 30 yards is always exhilarating to watch. I watch a guy like Derrick Henry just shed tacklers like they were toddlers and it makes me chuckle. I would have to go back to the drawing board to consider what my player name would be, as C.J. Sonjack is a play on J.C. Jackson on the Patriots, who was lethal in regards to interceptions this past season.
Would I go as a power running back though? It’s was super fun to see the Tom Brady to James White passing combination. At times, it felt like James White was Brady’s favorite receiver to target, despite being a RB. Being that passing target for a QB seems like a ton of fun too, without having to worry about drawing the top shutdown CBs. It could probably create a matchup nightmare if you got real good at that side of the game.
T3, Task 28 – Affiliation (2.5 TPE)
SHL PT
T2, Task 9 – Commissioner For A Day (5 TPE)
Boy, the ISFL is in trouble. I am now commissioner! Tremble before me, mortals! I have announced an immediate initiative to begin negotiations with the SHL Head Office to enable a money transfer agreement, further strengthening our partnership and synergy with the league I pay a significant amount of time to. A long term, established member of the SHL? Struggling to make cash to support your player in the ISFL? Just transfer over 50M! You’ll be all set, and can be a max earner without having to get a job or type up novels to compete with Starcrossed or Murder Moose. It remains to be seen how the SHL Head Office or their community would react to his suggestion, and I would assume that it will take more than one day to finalize a plan, but man, that’d make my life here a ton easier.
In addition to the negotiation and communication extended to our hockey brethren, I would have a chat with our player progression folks. For far too long, we’ve been expecting DSFL players and new members to somehow have an idea or an understanding of the comings and goings of the ISFL. There’s a distinct learning curve, and not much payoff other than potentially increased TPE payout for those people that invest the extra time and effort into the league they’re not participating in. I recommend to the ISFL Player Progression staff to consider an alternate to the weekly predictions PTs. I’ve honestly been copy pasting random people’s posts during my tenure here. Perhaps we open an alternate one for DSFL players so they can predict on teams and a league that they’re more interested in and aware of.
Thirdly, we will have a sit down with the GMs. We understand that historically drafts have been done in advance and over a period, but it creates a ton of work and isn’t fair to realistically expect war rooms to keep things internal. To further emulate the NFL and a real draft experience, we will be shifting to a live draft effective immediately. We will poll GMs in advance to find a time that is agreeable and that works for them, and far enough in advance so if they cannot make the draft they can designate a representative for their franchise from their war room to run the draft for them. No more worrying about leaks, a more genuine draft experience, and a ton more fun.
