Tier 1, #2:
I am in the S30 Draft Class that is set to be selected in the upcoming draft next week. I haven’t really interacted with anyone in my draft class outside of my own team with the London Royals, but I’m sure that all of them are fun people. I don’t really know the situations of the ISFL teams that will be selecting us, but I can try to figure out who the best available players are and then choose where in the draft each of them should go.
So first, I need to decide who are the best players. For the runningback position, I would not only choose myself, but also Miracle Whip and Jax Baker because they were also in the top five for rushing in the DSFL. Of the two starting quarterbacks in the DSFL, I would choose my own teammate, Dustin Parmelee, as the best available quarterback. At widereceiver, I am going to choose Vincent Sharpei Jr and Mason Malone. Both are currently playing on the Minnesota Grey Ducks and are not only high TPE earners, but also make up the top three in receiving yards. Also notable on the offense are tightend Nick L Back and offensive lineman Madison Beer who were outstanding for a rookie in their position.
On the defensive side, the best defensiveback is another one of my teammates, Savior Hawkins. Hawkins might not be one of the top earners of TPE, but he put up some very good stats this past season and came through for the team plenty of times. But as for the rest of the defense, there aren’t many players that interest me, especially not on the defensive line. So with that I’m going to add linebacker LaCarpetron Dukemarriot as the last addition to this shortlist. That puts us at an even 10 players. Now to rank them based on how I think they’ll go.
10. Jax Baker, Runningback
When compared to the other nine on the list, Jax Baker is not only the third choice player at their position, but they also comparatively have the least TPE gained of the three already selected at their position. Baker barely outperformed their teammate, only getting ahead through a larger amount of carries.
9. Madison Beer, Offensive Lineman
Not only was Madison Beer not actually that impressive at their position when compared to other non-rookies in the DSFL, I’m not sure of how much of a demand there is for offensive linemen. While I put Beer in this list because they were notable enough to make the list, I’m just not sure of how they will fare in the draft.
8. Miracle Whip, Runningback
Miracle Whip had an impressive season, making it to third in the league at rushing yards. But that still means that they are only the third best runningback in the league and especially when compared to the top two, Whip just doesn’t make sense to be any higher than some of these top players.
7. Nick L Back, Tightend
Nick L Back was actually a bit of an afterthought when looking at the stats from this past season, but Back really impressed me with the fact that they were one of the top receivers overall while not being a widereceiver. They did not reach 1000 yards receiving, they did get the third most touchdowns, which is an achievement on its own.
6. Savior Hawkins, Defensiveback
Though not the best in their position at earning TPE, Savior Hawkins showed to be one of the most valuable defensive players in the league this past season by saving the London Royals numerous times. Not only do they lead the league in passes defended, but they also picked up three forced fumbles, three interceptions, and a blocked punt. They should be highly rated by teams.
5. Kiara Tenoh, Runningback
I put myself here because I don’t want to place myself too high. Kiara did really well this season, with one of the top rushing performances in the league despite splitting carries with a teammate. I also have the most TPE of any runningback in the draft class. I just think that there are players more worthy than me to be higher.
4. Moses Malone, Widereceiver
Moses Malone was the best widereceiver this season with the most receiving yards and most catches in the league. They also have a lot of TPE and would easily slot into any offense.
3. Dustin Parmelee, Quarterback
Dustin Parmelee is my teammate and while a bit overexcited at times, seems to be a good leader on the field. While maybe not looking better than the other quarterback on paper, Parmelee had the highest completion rate and had more completions on less attempts than the other quarterback.
2. Vincent Sharpei Jr, Widereceiver
While Vincent Sharpei Jr wasn’t the top widereceiver in terms of yards, they were tied for the most touchdowns this past season and have slightly more TPE than Malone. The two of them are teammates, so it’s hard to judge between the two, but I would choose Sharpei due to the touchdown rate.
1. LaCarpetron Dukemarriot, Linebacker
LaCarpetron Dukemarriot may not be the highest TPE earning linebacker, they did have a great season in the DSFL. Though they were not in the lead in every metric for rookies, they were higher than most in more metrics overall. So with that and the scarcity of defensive prospects, I think that they would be the most valuable player going into the draft.
