(S30) PT 4 - Tough Loss

This isn’t a very difficult weekly point task to consider.  In fact, it’s rather apropos.  Just this past week, the Liberty went head-to-head with the vaunted Sarasota Sailfish, in Florida, and found themselves in a dogfight.  By the time the 4th quarter ended, the Liberty locker room was a split mix between extreme frustration and pure jubilation.  The Liberty had just been called for a league high 15 penalties in this match, so really they had no business even heading into extra time with one of the better teams in the league.  Nevertheless, Ryan Negs delivered an 18 yard strike to Furious Panda for an 18 yard touchdown with 11 seconds left to tie the game.  Unfortunately the Liberty were unable to turn this train wreck into an actual victory, as the Sailfish hit a 52 yard field goal to get the win.  While there was some definite dejection in the locker room, there was a lot of laughter.  Players vented themselves at the league, and at the referees.  Such comments as “this sim is ridiculous” were heard.  But as always, GM Lip Chap made an appearance in the locker room at just the right time, letting the bois now he was proud of how they fought and the progress being made.  We’ll see if the Liberty respond in week 11.
