When people have asked who Chicago’s rival is for the last several seasons, I haven’t had trouble explaining who that is. It feels like things are starting to shift, though. When I first joined the Butchers, it was unquestionably the Liberty. Almost everyone on our roster had a NTC to PHI. They started to get bad right as we got good though, so the rivalry kind of died there. Next, it was the Sailfish, because we met in the playoffs 3 seasons in a row, I believe. But now we’ve fallen off while they’ve remained near the top of the standings. I don’t know that we necessarily have a rival at this point. But I think that Philly and Baltimore are probably going to be fighting for the position of Chicago’s next big rival. Philly is a couple of seasons ahead of us in terms of trajectory, and Baltimore is just about right on track with us. I think that if we lost a really tough game to a rival, Wasrabi Gleel would probably be going around making sure everyone’s got their head up, while Juan Domine would be giving a speech to keep our spirits up and keep us motivated for the next game. These are the two big leaders of our defense, so I’m sure that they would both be playing their own part to keep the team on track!
