Overtime losses are never easy. However, when you're a member of the Colorado Yeti, and the overtime loss is to the Yellowknife Wraiths, it is an infinitely tougher loss to swallow. The Yeti, for whatever reason, cannot figure out the Yellowknife Wraiths. They have our number. They are our kryptonite. It is silent in the locker room. You could hear a pin drop. The players are quietly putting their equipment away and getting dressed, heads hung low. You would think the players would be used to losing to Yellowknife, as several of them have been with the Yeti for 7 or more seasons. One player, though, is tired of the glum attitudes. Magnus Rikiya stands up and starts talking.
She reminds the team that, despite the close, crushing loss, the Yeti are still in contention for the Ultimus this year. The Yeti have one of the best defenses in the league, and combined with a potent offense, can compete on any given sim-day. She highlights individual members of the team and reminds them of their contributions this season. After a rousing speech, the team begins to come together. One bad loss isn't enough to sink the entire season, they realize. They all agree to learn from the loss and make up for it in their next game.
