This week we have been asked to discuss what you are doing to maintain your financial freedom after leaving the league. You know how so many athletes go broke and have to resort to sometimes humiliating things to make money. How are you working to avoid that?
Magnus Rikiya: Well as you know after I leave the league for all intents and purposes I will cease to exist as my importance to the world that you have created will be gone. However I do have a partner who is a well respected doctor who guarantees my household will always have a steady income. Beyond that I am also a multiple time winner of the World's Strongest Man competition so I do have active income streams outside of football. That said the biggest security I have is the fact that my agent has been absolutely amazing at getting me sponsorship deals that have left me with a bank account that I would honestly struggle to empty in ten lifetimes with my personal interests.
Agent Tesla: Do you have a plan to retire after football, or is there another career path that you plan to chase?
Magnus Rikiya: I will probably focus on strongman competitions immediately after, but once I can no longer compete my hope is to move into coaching. Getting kids involved and helping them pursue their dreams is my long term goal.
