De'Aaron Harper came from a family that wasn't exactly well-off, so he knows how important it is to save your money. He's discussed becoming a part-owner of one of the ISFL franchises. If there's any expansion after his retirement, he will be first in line to buy a portion of the new team. As the value of the ISFL goes up, the franchises are starting to reach billions of dollars in value. Just 1% of an ISFL franchise can set up a former player for life. He also plans on investing in startup leagues in other sports, which have potential for massive returns if they grow to the heights the ISFL has reached. Along with planning for the future, Harper has made sound financial decisions in the present as well. He doesn't have an agent, which allows him to save a valuable portion of his contract. Harper has also not spent any of his contract money outside of making sure his parents and siblings could live comfortably. He lives entirely on endorsement money, even if he doesn't always life frugally. Harper wants to make sure he can take care of his family and himself long after his football career ends and he stops getting paid.
