While many might argue that he was already good, I think it is safe to say that Robert Phelps is the most improved player this year. He has already broken the season Receiving Yards record and he still has two games left to play. He is on pace to reach 1400+ receiving yards this season completely dwarfing Josh Garden’s record setting 1178 yards a year ago. In addition to receiving yards, he is on pace to double his TDs over last year and his yards per catch average has seen a spike of 3 yards every time he touches the ball.
While Phelps is having a tremendous season, you would also need to acknowledge the season improvement that Mike Boss is having. Despite the chatter of his critics, his INT rate has reduced this year. Meanwhile, he is on pace to set the record for most passing yards in a season. While it would be easy to set this record when he’s out there just heaving the ball erratically to anyone on the field, his completion percentage and passer rating are both league leading statistics and if these stay true, he would set new records in those categories as well.
