Now that the time has come to hang up the cleats, Sal Ami has two obvious career paths to choose from. One would be doing his dream job and becoming a professional eater, and possibly competing in the fourth of July Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest. The other path would be following his new position and staying on as the Norfolk Seawolves General Manager.
The decision is an easy one, and that is, Sal would chose to stay on board with his beloved Norfolk Seawolves and help manage them into the future. Players that retire always say the hardest thing about not playing is missing every one in the locker room. So this way, Sal stays close to the team he loves so much but also can do his best to make sure they remain in good hands on into the future. Maybe after winning a few Ultimini's he will step down to pursue his passion of competitive eating.
