Just like he was this time last year, Lavelle has continued to practice the art of yoga. A lot has changed in the last year, not only is Lavelle a much better player but he has excelled in his yoga exercises.
This time last year Lavelle could only dream of achieving the one handed tree pose or the Sirsa Padasana but he has achieved just that in the recent few weeks. While Lavelle's flexibility has greatly improved in the last 6 months, his ability to read the game has followed suit. Lavelle recently gained 5 pounds in the off season with some people speculating that it's to work on his tackling game. After all Lavelle managed a mere 47 tackles , 2 interceptions and 12 pass deflections this season, statistically his worst year yet. Yellowknife fans will hope that the Season 2 #1 pick can get his shit together and have another breakout year, similar to his rookie year.
Only time will tell if the yoga is actually paying off for Lavelle. Coming off his worst ever season in terms of stats, Lavelle will look to bounce back from both his individual woes and team disappointments. Regardless of what happens, it's make or break for Lavelle.
