If you really want "fair" make every DSFL contract a flat $2M and skip the salary cap completely.

I get the intent, but that would make the Marshals harder to dethrone. The cap is the ONLY thing keeping this team somewhat in check. We just cut a player and are still only 1m under, and have 5 picks in the first 3 rounds of next year. We might have to make a bad trade to stay under, and this is a good thing for the DSFL.
