Marc Spector spent his Thanksgiving in South Portland, Maine visiting a college friend of his, and his family. Richard Sach was a lineman when Spector played for the Rice Owls and the two have maintained some contact in the last few seasons. Marc was invited by Richard and his wife Elaine at the beginning of the month. He originally was going to spend it with Marlene Alraune's family in Saratoga Springs but she was called away to a job interview Wednesday evening. Marc called Richard last minute and asked if he could join them. After receiving a yes from the Sach family, Marc took a red eye to Boston and drove north to Maine where he met up with his hosts. They all had the traditional feast of turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing and green bean casserole. They watched Charlie Brown Thanksgiving on ABC and spent the evening sipping on whiskey and playing cards. They recounted many of their games from college and antics they pleyed on the coaches and professors. Richard announced that Elaine was pregnant, and thus abstaining from alcohol intake. The child is due in late June.
All in all it was a very nice evening and nothing crazy or out of the ordinary occurred.
