True story. Last year on April Fools, I did a gimmick where I "retired" Eric Kennedy and name changed him to treat him like a new character. (After conversations with HO, I retracted the name change.)
I strongly considered posting something in retirements, but then I read the rules and decided it was a really, really bad idea. April Fools or no April Fools, people need to be aware of the rules before doing things. They're posted for a reason.
If we can all agree it was a bad and obvious joke, we should just have him own up to it and give him back without punishment. I mean it was so obvious, 20% seems a steep penalty for stupidity

I agree with this. Also, it's clear that if he had known it would come with the tpe hit he would not have done it.

We could maybe come up with some sort of embarrassing punishment that doesn’t cost TPE. Like he needs to change his name to Tom Brady sucks for a season
