(S6) - Weekend PT 3 - Storm Prep

Storms always seem to follow me wherever I go. Some how, some way there is always a disaster looming. In Oklahoma City there were tornadoes, in Buffalo there were blizzards, and in California there are wildfires. I can tell you that one of the most valuable things to have and to hoard is water. Water is such a luxury that a lot of people don’t think about. Have you ever not had running water, it is the worst. Canned goods are also great to have on hand. I prefer the ones that you can open without a can opener just in case you don’t have one available to you. Anything you don’t have to keep cold or heat up is a great idea. You never know what type of resources you will have in the midst of a catastrophe. Lastly I always make sure that I have blankets and pillows for my family and myself. There is nothing like a good night’s sleep and I can’t sleep without either one.

Winters can get pretty cold in Philadelphia and it’s always a shock for Eli Kamaka despite having been in Philly for a few seasons now. Luckily for him, he’s always prepared at home with a generator and enough food to outlast any blizzards in the harsh Philly winters. He also loves volunteering with teammates Vikain Marmeladov (@Vikain), and Norman Bagwell (@bagwell) to help those in need. Together, the guys work to hand out canned food and also supply portable heaters to those in the community without a way to stay warm. This is all sponsored by the Liberty management and other team sponsors so it’s a great way for the organization to give back to the community and helps the team with some good public relations. One time Kamaka, Marmeladov, and Bagwell even helped out a driver who was stuck on the road by lifting the car up enough from the ice to get traction so that they could make it out of a small incline!

While other players fear the rain and snow and winds of other storms...there is one storm which they should really fear, and the one that Dwayne Aaron is always running from. This storm will randomly spawn on an island, and then pit it's victims on the island to try and escape it's wrath. Aaron runs from this storm constantly, when he gets home BOOM he's on the island, landing at tilted towers. In order to stay alive he has to collect guns and medical aid to stay alive and murder all the other people on the island. Truly a daring task, once Dwayne Aaron is the last one alive he is allowed to return to Colorado. But should he fall to the storm or another islander he is sent back on to the bus that brought him here. A near endless cycle that has torn families apart, ladies and gentlemen this is...Fortnite...

The Baltimore area, and much of the northeaster USA got hit with a bomb winter cyclone this weekend. Many are left without power as high winds and snow have made a mess out of things. Luckily enough for the Baltimore Hawks, they have a state of the art practice facility equipped with rooms and a cafeteria to feed a small army so the players could stay overnight as well as generators to keep the electronics going at full power. Also, the Hawks have their own indoor football field, so no matter how devastating the weather is, they could adequately prepare for their next opponents no matter what mother nature throws at them. One notable player that has been absent from practice this weekend has been defensive captain Kurt Hendrix. Apparently he has been out helping the community by pulling downed trees off of the road like an ox. However, those reports are not yet confirmed. (155 words)

Down in Texas, we don't get storms often, but when we do, man, it comes down. We get heavy rain and thunder and lightning. Seriously, it's pretty annoying when you're trying to play PUBG and you see a lightning bolt a mile away from you. We also get some extreme weather. In rare occasions we get some hurricanes, but not that often. We got hit big by Hurricane Harvey, and lots of our practice facilities and part of our stadium was damaged. Another extreme weather obstacle we sometimes face are tornadoes. Not too often, we get the same swirling whirlpool in the sky. Since I've lived here all my life, I've gotten used to the drill. I already have a fridge, a couch, a PS4, and lots of other comfortable stuff down there, as well as Wi-Fi. Sometimes I get a real chuckle when a new teammate comes in off the waiver wire from somewhere north like Canada or the northeast and calls me when they see a tornado coming. I laughed for a while when the Siberian Swatter drove over to my place at 110 miles per hour in his pickup when he saw the first tornado of his life.

Written: Must Include 150 Words. You can't expect sunshine and clear weather all the time, sometimes you'll run into a nor'easter or a blizzard or anything of the sort. As such you should be prepared for events like this, write about the preparations you make, whether it's hoarding food for yourself or helping the community in some way.

Oh you know how the weather is here in Baltimore, sometimes it's a little this and other times a little that. Turkleton has made preperations for when the weather turns really bad. He has built and actual bunker like safety room. This room is stocked with all kinds of canned food items, bottles of water and of course a shit ton of anime blue ray dvd's. You never know for how long you have to shelter from a good ol' fucking storm. So he basicly has two walls in his saferoom which are just filled with anime and games. Like this might actually be the most anime someone has, like any where in the world. I bet there are anime factories with less anime in their stock than Turk has. So one thing is for sure, Turk Turkleton is one hella prepared man.

Gregory Fletcher's mother is getting on in years. As much as he hates to think about it she isn't as mobile as she once used to be, especially after she broke her hip all those years ago. Living in Ohio also means she has to deal with bad weather, sometimes really bad weather! Gregory couldn't stand the thought of his mother all alone during one of those blizzard so he has an entire plan set up. He has a special pantry in her house with "emergency" food. Dry food, canned food, gallons and gallons of water, you name it! He also has an emergency generator (two in fact for backup) to ensure she has heat if the power goes out. Lastly but in his mind most importantly he has the neighbors help out. Mama Fletcher is well known in the neighborhood so everyone pitches in. They check on her, make sure the generators are serviced and maintained. Most importantly though they keep her from getting lonely.

Austin Roenick is from Canada and canadians are always prepared for unexpected weather. Roenick has everything prepared during all 4 seasons especially summer. A lot of people in the community not help themselves but they also help others and get everyone in good shape. We got food, supplies, generators, etc. Roenick may be a multi-millionare athlete but he is also one smart man.

In the north, there are a lot of storms like blizzards, thunderstorms, heat wave and all that nasty stuff but luckily unlike the US, it is so rare for a natural disaster to happen like Hurricanes and Tornadoes and oh boy if that happens, you gotta leave and evacuate. I can re-call an ice storm occuring and Roenick was as prepared as he was ever been. Sure there is no power but he got edible food, supplies and generators and help from others which he can use so obviously Roenick is prepared right.

What QB Chris Orosz does is quite simple.... He doesn't do anything... He Plays in San Jose, California! However from experience growing up in Chicago, he is aware of the potential problem that inclement weather poses, so whenever he is on the road, in addition to his personal effects, he brings a support style bag, with extra food and provisions, he also packs an additional winter outfit (if going to say, Yellowknife) and as always his portable gaming system, just in case he decides he needs to play a game while he waits for the plane/bus/etc. He has been known to bring the team’s playbook with him occasionally and other effects as the situation warrants, like the aforementioned winter outfit for Yellowknife. A visit to Orange County for example, requires additional strong sun block, while New Orleans requires some sort of galoshes due to water… and drunk fans. Verso L'Alto has enjoyed living in Tijuana Mexico as he hasn't had to deal with inclement weather all that often. There aren't crazy hurricanes or downpours for days on end, and there certainly aren't blizzards. However, he does have to deal with the threats from earthquakes. These happen every so often, and most of the earthquakes that are felt barely cross the threshold into what might classify as risky. In fact, Tijuana gets over 100 earthquakes per year! However, although he hasn't experienced anything close to this yet, the largest in recent memory was only a few years ago and the veterans on the team have been kind enough to share what they have learned and what can be expected. Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done to prepare for earthquakes other than making sure to have some type of stockpile of food available in case escape from the building isn't even possible. This is regularly taken care of by the team dieticians and support staff. They've had a handful of drills to learn how to respond in the event of a stronger earthquake, however. The three main things they recommend are: drop where you are on your hands and knees, cover your head and neck with one hand to protect against falling debris, and hold on for dear life. I truly hope we don't have to utilize any of these techniques. (233)
