Man. My bracket got absolutely busted today. I went in the day sitting pretty, having finished the first day 15-1. Barely nicked by the Arizona-Buffalo game that everyone was talking about. OK, first game of the day, Texas A&M beats Providence 73-69. Now I'm 16-1. Purdue beats CSU Fullerton. No brainer. Then Marshal beats Wichita State. Oh well, upsets do happen. I had them losing in the R32 anyway. We recover. Cincinnati soundly beats Georgia State. UNC shells Lipscomb. Butler beats Arkansas, although it did get close near the first half. West Virginia over Murray State. Nevada comes from behind and sneaks by Texas (Heart pounder). Creighton loses to K State. Darn, we have 3 losses. Michigan State blows by Bucknell, although Bucknell puts up a fighting effort near the end. Auburn gives me a scare there but squeaks by Charleston 62-58. Xavier kicks some Texas Southern ass. Good. And then UMBC happens. For the first part of the game, I was like, "UMBC can't last. I mean, look at all the leads the low seeds got out to that fell apart. Penn was leading Kansas by 10 at one point." But when I kept checking the score, the 12 point margin didn't shrink- it grew. Then, when I checked again, it was 15. 17. The game ended by a 20 point margin. I had them winning it all! TCU loses to Syracuse. Nice upset pick. Damnit, New Mexico State loses to Clemson! (Surprisingly, all 5 seeds won this year). At least I (should) be able to pick up this FSU-MIZZOU pick. But I'm pretty much done at this point.

So....let's address the worst kept secret about the Arizona Outlaws. We applied for relocation. We're awaiting the vote now as the HO discusses the issue. I'll present both sides of it right now, and for points.
The pro relocation side is based around the really obvious reasons. Arizona has a tainted history due to the Er thing. The team will pretty much never live it down in it's current incarnation. Almost one wastes an opportunity to bring it up and frequently use it for all sorts of trash talk or questioning individual players' legacies. People put the * next to and on everything they can to the point that most people have already forgotten that it would be two of them, not three. It's evolved into something with a life of it's own and no matter what changes on this team, it won't escape that. Teams have used it on their official twitters despite it being a 4th wall breaking situation. Changing the team can wash that away. On the flipside is the worry from several people in HO that way too many teams want to relocate at the same time. The quietly enacted rules on relocation from this past season mitigate that somewhat but there was still a surge of demand that created a worry that relocation would suddenly become an out of control cluster. Another unnamed team with basically no good reason to mvoe was in the discussion partway through the season and of course a certain someone pulling bullshit in the DSFL didn't help matters on that, either. The concern is that it will become the fad thing to do. Thus there is some pushback on the idea of the Outlaws moving either this offseason or at all. I personally understand this concern and will fight against arbitrary moving of teams. I think you need a really good reason to mvoe these franchises that are just now starting to cement legacies as the league moves out of it's earliest stages of development. Vegas had great reasons in the massive non start as a franchise with draft pick drama, followed by several awful losing seasons, then finished up with an organized fuck you to the team by former players. I feel that we have really good reasons, as I've labelled above. But the league overall also needs to have some structure and stability to it and I can see (but not agree with) the HO position that this decisions requires caution. We'll see how it all shakes out. ![]() Or something else? ![]()
The Hawks lost their final game of the season to the Yellowknife Wraith and miss the playoffs and head to the gold course. For god sake. Like this cannot be scripted. How on earth after a great mid week beating up team and just adding one final win clinch, just gets completely destroyed by the Wraith. Actually, the Hawks players were great throughout the 13 games and just the clinching game, they all played bad bad bad.
It is just a disappointment on how the Hawks ended their season. They improved their defense with acquisitions, their offense players have gotten better and in fact, they just still lost. I mean philly got better and the Wraith were just suppose to suck. But then it's the sim engine that just sucks and not the team. But there are solutions to this issues and then there's a say, there is always next year.
I don't know why but for some reason this point task has been the hardest one for me to do. Turns out, I'm not even creative enough to just type out 150 words about anything. I need guidance. I used to think that point task prompts were dumb. But now I realize how lost I am without them. So I guess I'll talk about how much I appreciate the point tasks because apparently without them I'm just some moron who has to pull out his own hair to actually write 150 words about "anything I want."
New Orleans is terrible now but we'll be good soon. We have a process in place and I believe in our plan going forward. I like our locker room a lot and like to think that I'm buddies with the people in it. I knew coming in that I had to build a strong foundation but I think that this teams foundation is even stronger than I could have hoped for. We're gonna be good soon. (172 words)
Missing the playoffs is nothing new for Alexandre LeClair but it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t sting. With only 2 career playoffs games, the S1 veteran has nothing to say about it other than it being terrible luck. His performance this season gave him a career high in TDs (12) but all the other stats were down on his formidable S5 season, mostly due to a change in the playbook that balanced the offense very evenly between himself and Trey Willie, arguably the best WR tandem in the league this past season, alongside SJS’ Jackson-Weston connection.
The name of the game this year in Baltimore was inconsistency, both on offense and on defense, losing games at home that they should’ve won. The last game of the season, at home against the Wraiths, had the Hawks as favourites to win, due to home field advantage, but squandered opportunities left the fans in Baltimore in shock. One day LeClair will retire and look back at the legacy he’s left behind. Playoff performance will most likely not be there. And that’s ok with him. (181 words) ![]() [OPTION]Height: 6'3"

The DSFL playoffs are underway and I'm super excited. Tijuana is nice, but getting to fly up to San Antonio to see my bro has been awesome. Honestly, I haven't even payed any attention to the game, so I don't know what the score was at the end. Thad and I got front row seats to the game and just chilled the whole time! Sure, my teammates may not be happy with it, but I said from the start that I wasn't gonna play against my brothers and that's what I did! So I guess I'll have to check it out and see if my team made the finals. Shoot, I need to see how Brad did! I might be on the roster for another game that I'll have to sit out! Whatever happened or happens, I'm happy to know that the draft is coming and I'll soon be able to play with my brothers again.
I'm curious to see where Tweed goes from here. I thought this would be a big season for him with the running buffs and the Yeti having the most run blocking on their offensive line and a dedicated fullback. But for the first 7 games of the season, Tweed was one of the worst starting running backs in the league despite having the most TPE. Then in the final 7 games, he suddenly turned it around and was one of the best running backs in the league. Next year will be Tweed's last year before regression. I wonder if the last 7 games are an indication that Tweed has finally put it together and will be able to perform up to his TPE level going forward. The last few seasons have been pretty meh from Tweed, so I'm hoping maybe he'll be able to have at least one monster year in the next couple years and maybe have a shot at winning Running Back of the Year at least once before he retires. Tweed's been the top running back by TPE for a while now but hasn't really been the top running back on the field so I'm hoping maybe he can have a resurgence late in his career and have a couple really good years before hanging it up. If Tweed can sustain a high level of play for the rest of his career, maybe it will help the Yeti get some more wins in the coming season and maybe give Tweed a shot at one more playoff run.

I have been around leagues for many, many years now, and I have to say, this one may be the weirdest that I have been a part of. And I’m not saying that in a bad way, at all. Like all new things you eventually get used to the change, and that should be no different here. You get set in your ways of the way leagues are usually ran, so it’s refreshing to come along and see someone doing something differently. Sure, right now it’s slightly overwhelming, but the more I look around and the more I dig deeper into things, I think I have a good grasp on plenty already. I look forward to potentially helping a playoff team in their push for a championship, but if I don’t play until I’m drafted next season, so be it. The whole Saturday deadline thing on some stuff might mess me up though...I’m always so used to having Sunday to get my shit together.

Sometime, a change is just what the doctor ordered. In this case, the doctor is the fans and players of the Colorado Yeti organisation, and the change is a rebrand.
While I would never condone a team moving away from its loyal fanbase, especially when said fans have had to endure numerous season of mediocrity culminating in the NSFL’s first ever 0 – 14 season, I do think that a change in identity is necessary in Colorado. Personally, I think they should remain in Colorado, but abandon the Yeti. A fresh mascot, colour scheme, and persona leading into a draft in which they have the first overall pick might mean that next season, when they start anew, the Colorado franchise can start rebuilding their team from the ground up. This plan wouldn’t end the continuity of their being an NSFL team in Colorado, but it would allow fans, players, and the organisation itself to distance themselves from a lacklustre past, and charge forward toward a new era of football in the Centennial State. In honor of the good boyes taking over the NCAA tournament (UMBC, Loyola, Butler, and Nevada), I've decided to go and rebrand all the NSFL teams with dog-related names. This is going to be interesting.
Yellowknife Woofs Because puns are easy Colorado Komondors I mean just look at it. It looks like a yeti dog. It must sweat so much in the summer. Baltimore Air Buds Everyone's favorite flying dog that also happens to play sports Philadelphia German Shepards Because I like my irony with a side of ruthless efficiency Orange County Otterhounds I'm lazy and googled otter dogs and got this New Orleans Second Labs Can you tell I'm getting lazy now San Jose Wolfpack Sabercats are ice-age cats.
