@PDXBaller I want to thank you. Because with out you i probably would be a 50 TPE inactive linebacker somewhere in the DSFL. You really pushed me to update and once I fell into the grove I took off, but it all started with you so thanks.

Okay, this might be a long one.
I’d like to thank me. Without me, I wouldn’t be here today, and I never let myself forget that. I’d like to thank @Bzerkap. Dude reached out to me when I joined, and was ALWAYS around to just shoot the shit about anything, generally NSFL stuff, since that was really new and exciting to me, but always acted like he was happy to hear from me and made me feel really welcome here. When the shit with Savea happened, he didn’t skip a beat. He let me know it didn’t affect where I was at on his board at all, and he kept me in the loop with his talks with GMs. When I got drafted into Yellowknife, he always had time to listen to my wild ideas on strategies (which were based solely on NFL logic and just NO knowledge of the sim). I got to have him as a teammate in PBE as well (in Vancouver and Death Valley), but NSFL was where he really brought a league alive. Even though he’s inactive, I have to credit @Ballerstorm as well. He was a cool guy, and it’s kind of amazing how different his character persona was from his. Josh Garden was a douche, a delightful throwback to the early 2000s diva receivers, but Ballerstorm was actually a great teammate. Despite running the draft, he reached out the moment I was picked with a welcome PM, and instantly started sharing tips on how the sim worked. Also, maybe because he “played” a diva, he never seemed bothered by my personality, and only treated me based on contributions. When talk of a development league started, he actually reached out to me and asked me about applying to be a DSFL GM, which I applied and was accepted for. Vetoing the Austin Hippie Hicks was probably for the best, too. This one may sound odd, and I almost forgot his user name, but I know you old folks remember @Valtookan. The moment I created he responded happy to see another coverage LB, and his competitive streak and friendly nature led to us having a lot of talks about the league. I remember feeling that there was almost a real community among linebackers, but Val (Ernston) was the only one I talked to, and the only one I felt a real rivalry with, though always friendly. @Sweetwater He and I recently did our first podcast together in almost a year, and it was pure garbage, but damn did I miss talking to this guy. He and I did podcasts on the drafts, season expectations, league drama, fucking trading cards (yeah, we did an ENTIRE podcast on trading cards). He was also the best play by play guy in the entire league, and joining him with commentary was always fun, even when the game was boring. @bovo When I got picked up to be a GM, I didn’t know who to choose as co. This may seem surprising, as I would go on to receive a lot of applications later on, but bovo (then my teammate in Yellowknife) offered to take the job, which was great because I actually didn’t know of anyone I was confident would say yes. To give a little context, even though bovo had always been nice to me, he had been reluctant to go to Yellowknife seeing that I had been drafted there as well. He never let it show, though, and ended up being a great guy to work with, as pretty much everyone in NOLA will attest. As a Marshal GM, he designed the Marshals. All of the visual shit came from him, and we both put in a lot of work scouting inactives for the inaugural draft. Additionally, when Yellowknife needed a new co, he offered to take the job despite not wanting it. Being a DSFL GM was fun, after all, and we’d built a great team. Giving it up just two weeks shy of potentially getting a ring was something I was WAY too selfish to do, and so bovo was the one who stepped up to help the Wraiths. @iamslm22 I could not believe when this motherfucker applied to be my new co. It was not an easy decision. Bayley had applied as well, as had Asipi, but slm and I had fought pretty much non-stop since being drafted to our respective teams. Baltimore and Yellowknife had a pretty fierce rivalry back then, and Slm and I were always there in it. However, despite not having been a DSFL GM or having a player in the DSFL, he was there in all the streams…as was I. And when he applied, he asked who else I saw watching. That was what sold me. It’s been about a year since he was hired (end of S3), and given that he’s since won championships as a PBE, MilPBE, and NSFL GM, I don’t think anyone will be surprised that he was pretty damn good, but it was more than that. Slm was the first person I felt any kind of kinship with in this league. Working with him was a true partnership, and he’s the only person I would venture to call a friend. We don’t really talk about any non sim league stuff, but when shit happens, I know he’ll know where I’m coming from, and accepts me along with my flaws. That’s a wonderful feeling. @PDXBaller In S3, the Portland Pythons were garbage. PDX took over and changed all of that. Despite having a co-GM (@cosbornballboy) who tried to trade away draft picks for a nude image of Daisy Ridley (which @[Jiggly], the champion of female respect, sent to all of us), PDX turned that team into not just a contender, but the S4 champion. His commitment to DSFL was a huge part in making it something people actually paid attention to, and even after his team legitimately beat mine, he still gave me credit as an equal, which was a class move. @Roly Too many inactives on this list (and still more left). Okay, Sweetwater may have been the best play by play guy, but Roly’s “Not Famous Yet” podcasts were amazing. I can still hear the opening song in my head. @adam2552 Talk about fighting the fight no one wanted. I know that some members of HO were investigating Er’s many violations, but I also know that the majority of them wanted as little to do with it as possible. Adam was presenting real evidence while the majority of the league and HO shit on him for doing it. Even the members of HO who cared about getting to the bottom of it couldn’t publicly admit they appreciated it, so all he got was shit, and when it turned out that Er was guilty, all he was shown was resentment for being the messenger. As GM of Philly, he brought me back into the league. Also, he stepped up big and took up the GM role again when I ran away, and was never a dick about it. @ErMurazor The Hero We Deserved. It’s easy to laugh at HO for still being willing to turn ownership of the site over to him. Really easy. However, it’s also easy to see all the good shit this guy did for a league that really wasn’t able to run itself. Between an S2 expansion and S3 minor league, just about anyone worthwhile to do league work already had a full time job, and usually more than one. This meant that Er did all the simming (for both leagues), all the PTs, all the write-ups for the Top 50, all the graphics grading (as Pest), plus all the draft scouting and testing for his own team. It really was way too much to be on one person. @White Cornerback For not cracking. This may not sound like much, but having defended Er for turning to the dark side under too much stress, and being quite aware of how I’ve handled it as well, it’s kind of amazing that he never went full on crazy in some way. I’ve disagreed with a lot of what he’s done in HO, but I also remember how much shit he did, and bothering him at all hours over DSFL shit, which he was the only person handling at first. While he’s made mistakes, he never told us all to get fucked, which is more than I can say. @timeconsumer After the thread with @Ben, a couple of people reached out. One unexpected contact was TC, who I hadn’t been talking to prior to all of this. Here was his PM Quote:Don't let someone's grudge bother you. I think anyone who actually knows the facts (most don't) and have read your post history know you aren't a bad dude. You've shown a lot of enthusiasm towards the game and commitment to making your character one of the best. The current drama going on might hurt your draft stock, but that doesn't matter. Keep doing your media and updates and PTs like you have been, and be a good teammate in the locker room and you'll be a pro-bowler for many years.Despite being wrong about the Pro Bowl (Cushing had 1 appearance), it was a pretty unexpected show of support, and that was before learning what a smart ass he was. However, what I am most grateful for is all of the work he’s put into making this sim somewhat less dogshit. From removing the corner blitz to actually balancing archetypes to increasing run sliders and locking blitz percentages to formations, to making CB TPE ACTUALLY FUCKING MATTER (random caps for you), this league is a lot more competitive and fun because of him. @run_CMC Arizona has been amazing. There’s a bit of a case of history repeating itself, in that both of my NSFL drafts, I’ve fallen to the second round after having a lot of conversations with the GM who eventually drafted me. Since then, he’s been a huge supporter of both me and my character, both of which have been appreciated. I had no real reason to be a fan of Arizona when I was drafted there, but he’s been great to play for, and I am very happy to have extended there. @37thchamber I’ve insulted a lot of people, in this league and others. I’ve very frequently been too harsh, but 37th probably has the distinction of receiving my most inaccurate lash out with the semi-famous “stay in your lane” remark. He did things for the league then, and still does, and in a weird turn of events, I actually work for him now as part of the wiki team, and he’s been a pleasant person to work for. It’s not exactly a thank you, but I felt he deserved a somewhat kind mention. ![]() (10-24-2018, 11:35 AM)kckolbe Wrote:@iamslm22 I could not believe when this motherfucker applied to be my new co.
