"We've got more wins that anyone else in the league, more points than anyone else in the league, we've got the best rushing offence in the conference and our defence is no bad either. That's all I've to say about our coaches. Anything else, you can talk to them." And with that, Kieran O'Connell disappeared into into the Yeti's training facility. Despite his protestations at the time, I managed to meet up with the young Scot later in the day to discuss his coaches further.
"Aye, they're solid." O'Connell took a gulp of water. "Like I said, they've got us this far. Both the co-GMs have great heads for football, something I've obviously not always been able to appreciate in the ways others here have. We're a team set up to win and that's obvious in our performances through the first half of the season. We're not always topping the list in stats, we're not always tearing through for sixty yard TDs, but we're winning games. We've got less interceptions than any other team in the league, we've got the joint highest completion percentage. Even if we're not running away in YPC, myself, Tiernan and Tweed are making the gainline every time and we've got more rushing TDs that any other team in the league. That is the kind of team our coaches are building in Colorado and they're doing a pretty fucking decent job of it." [div align=center]

After the scandal surrounding the San Jose SaberCat's former Offensive Line coach's 'Sacks for Sacks' program, which resulted in his eventual termination, many players and fans were apprehensive about the methods the new coach would use. But since his first day on the job, Harry Blocker has been a smash hit with everyone involved with the team.
Harry is a former college football superstar, who as well as a decorated career as a center, also spent time on the defensive line and catching passes as a tight end. He was a generational talent, and a sure-fire first round pick as an offensive linemen, with enough potential at his other positions that teams had discussed taking him as high as the third. However, late in his senior season, Harry was on the receiving end of a stray knee from a falling defensive tackle. And not just any tackle -- it was Markus Bulge, the heaviest defensive lineman in college football. The hit was enough to break Blocker's neck, and while he doesn't suffer any long-term issues other than slight neck pain, doctors told him another hit could put him in a wheelchair. It was a career over before it had begun. That didn't stop him, though. While his former rivals and teammates were meeting with teams and participating at the combine in preparation for draft day, Harry was also meeting with teams; he was desperately searching for the opportunity to become a coach. In the end, he didn't have to search for long. The Dallas Cowboys offered him a job, and everyone at the organisation emphasises his contributions to the phenomenal offensive line the team now boasts. Feeling his work in the NFL was done, Blocker now turned his attention to the fledgling NSFL. The moment he heard of the vacany in San Jose he was on a flight out of Dallas, and within hours of arriving at the SaberCats facility had found his new job. He has had an enormous impact on Daniel Robicheaux, elevating him to one of the premier blockers in the league. He admits that he overlooked Longshaw initially in his development program with the team, feeling he was competent and talented enough to 'self coach'. However, after the slow start from the Left Tackle out of Northern Illinois, he's going to be shifting his focus to include the first offensive lineman picked in the draft. Expect to see big things from Ben Longshaw in the coming weeks. Code: 411 words [div align=center]

The Yeti are in first place in the NSFL thanks to our coach. What makes him so special compare to the other coaches is he knows how to utilize every player he has on his team. Our team is the best in rushing. We have 3 running backs in our team and all of them have their own style of play. Our coach use them properly in different situation. It also help our quarterback to perform well. Noble has throw less than the other starter in the league but his rating is the best because he can make smart plays and our running games are very effective.
The Yeti defense is also one of the best. We lead in sacks, 4 players of the top ten leader in sacks are from Colorado. I don't know how it but my teammates and I are to listening to the instruction of our coach. He somehow knows what the opponent offense are to play and we are play to beat their quarterback. Teamwork and communication are what our coach wanted us to work on. With Cox, Wozy and Teagarden creating holes on the offensive lines, Saint and Fulton can rush on the QB thanks to teamwork. The Championship look to the Colorado Yeti.
Coach Bill Cowher
Lets talk a little bit about coach Bill Cowher. Coach Cowher is a short guy with short man complex. He hates standing next to the Dline and Oline man making him feel shorter. This sucks for us because we are so much bigger than him he like to make us run for the hell of it. His favorite one to pick on is Dental Dam. Making him do extra of every drill because hes Big like a bear but only as smart as a gold fish. Let me just say this, He is a mastermind on Defense! He has to be the smartest coach i have even talked to. The different stunts and moves he uses in the defensive front, And the hidden moved he uses in the secondary to cause picks. Our Stats show how good he is with a team that's still finding there way on the field and learning his complex playbook. Cowher is the Engine of this massive train coming for the S1 Championship. His ability to encourage us to get better and play hard and his mastermind of plays will only lead us to success. I believe in Coach Cowher hes going to do great things in this league. Coach has this way about him, he's stern yet gentle. He always knows exactly what to say to get you in the mood for some intensity. When I first met coach I was cautious due to his reputation, but he was a far better coach then the media portrayed him to be. He knew the perfect plays to call at the perfect time, and he always motivates you to play harder on the next snap by whispering sentimental words of motivation in your ear. Yes I love playing for coach Sandusky.
Ever since I was a child I dreamed of playing in the pros, but now that I have the opportunitie to do so I can't think of a better coach than coach sandusky. Sure, he's got a bad rap sheet. But he gets the people going. He is probably better at showing Qb's how to properly line up behind the center then any other coach in the history of the game. He also cuts down on epidemics of mrsa in the locker room with his exceptional shower and hygiene tips. He even works hands on for visual learners! When it comes down to it, Sandusky is just the right man for the job. He's irreplaceable in terms of producing champions. It's going to be hard to move on from him as I join the nsfl, but at least I know part of him will always be a part of me. -Ben [div align=center]

Coach Nuck has always had the utmost faith in us despite our slow start. After week 4 we had received 3 straight losses some of us felt down. No one said it but you can tell some felt like we weren't going to be able to compete this season or, even next. Coach Nuck told us that we do not play like a 1 and 3 team. He knew that streak of losses was nothing but a fluke and he was aware that we had much more than that in us. We may look like a middle of the pack team but we're motivated to become more than that and now we go into every game knowing in our hearts that we ARE the better team. There are no doubts that we can make this big game THIS season, there are no doubts that we can become the first official dynasty of the NSFL. Coach Nuck is in our Locker Room every day making sure we are all on the same page, and making sure we all have the tools to progress and succeed in this league and he makes the tough decisions when needed. I can tell you I don't think I'd want to be anywhere else.

I'm here to talk about two of my coaches: Sammy Walton and Matthew Owens.
Both these guys have a major impact on how my game has developed, both on and off the field. For starters, it may be helpful to know that AC Hackett ( @Deusolis ) and I have known these two coaches long before they signed in to coach the Sabercats. So now I'll talk about their coaching styles and how they differ. Sammy Walton: Speaking of talking about things, Coach Sammy Walton LOVES to talk. The man will go on and on for hours, about, well, sometimes it's hard to figure out what he is talking about. But man, does he know his football? He sure does, although sometimes he applies large quantities of basketball knowledge to his lessons. Also, it's hard to walk into practice without seeing Coach Walton's St. John's sweatshirt and backwards Yankees hat. He didn't even go to St Johns, making the sweatshirt choice somewhat questionable. Matthew Owens: On to the man who gave us the work ethic we have today, Coach Matthew Owens. This man had us running laps when we were first training under him, and his methods drive us to success. Although he's truly a nice person, you don't want to make him mad. I remember one day, this younger recruit, A. Kash, was sick of being told what to do, and kicked a water bottle on the sideline. Little did he know, it was Coach Owens water-bottle. A. Kash never came back to practice. |
