More DSFL rivalry hype incoming. Elijah Lagerfield. Marquise Brown. Two of the best running backs in the developmental league right now. Both of them having just joined the DSFL this season, and both of them are going to be top picks in the NSFL, no doubt, but who has the edge? Lagerfield gets a ton of touches for the Pythons because why the hell wouldn't he? The guys a freaking machine. He doesn't tire. He currently leads the league in rushing yards by almost a 200 yard margin. If the Pythons didn't have this guy in the backfield they'd for sure have one an anemic offense. He forces defenses to come up to open up the air for his teammates Grey Slax and Borro Gore. Brown on the other hand started the year on a torrid pace, keeping up with Lagerfield in yards despite less carries. That pace has since slowed, but it hasn't stopped him from amassing a growing lead in scores over his counterpart as he now sits at 10 rushing touchdowns. There's a reason they call him "Touchdown Brown", the kid's got an eye for the goal line and if he can't outrun you there, he'll run you over instead. Be on the lookout for these halfbacks to go very high in the season 9 NSFL draft and to continue their rivalry at the top level.
Ah a good ole fashioned rivalry Kif! I love it, two grown men, or women, wrestling out their differences. It is a beautiful display. Well I consider everyone my rival, especially those filthy neutrals, they sicken me. Anyone who is not handing me or throwing the ball to moi… However, it has come to my attention that another soldier in the ranks has called us out. It seems as though @OBESE Declan Harp, another trying to claim my title as the tightest end, and myself have a FRIENDLY rivalry for this season in the DSFL. Well this time, I have come prepared… Psst Kif, that was the que, just give me all your papers. Okay well where to start after many hours scouring the internet and bookies, I, Zapp Brannigan have found the officially statistic for myself and Declan for this current season. Drum roll please….. Well even though Harp may have more receptions, yards, and Average reception and longest reception than me. There are two stats that I am beating lover boy Harp in. First, seems to be that I have 1 Touchdown while poor Harp does not have a single one. Also, it seems that I have made love to more beautiful ladies…. And Men? Than Harp… Are you sure this is right Kif, I don’t remember any man… Oh yeah that’s right. What happens in Yellowknife stays in Yellowknife. I’m on to you Harp, like flies on a sexy pile of manure. End transmission.

Until this past game, Philadelphia Liberty running back Carter Bush’s biggest rival was his teammate Damien Kroetch. Carter Bush was constantly living in the shadow of the Philadelphia Liberty’s star running back that was a key contributor during their Ultimus Championship last season. This season started similarly with Carter Bush being moved all over the place offensively preventing him from finding any rhythm. However, a sudden change of strategy by the Philadelphia Liberty front office saw Damien Kroetch get shipped off to the Colorado Yeti. This cleared the stage for Carter Bush to truly shine. And in his first game as the primary ball carrier for the Philadelphia Liberty he did not disappoint. Carter Bush amassed 161 yards from scrimmage and scored twice being one of the sole highlights in the Liberty’s 40-25 loss to the Arizona Outlaws. For comparison, Damien Kroetch only had 15 yards in his debut for the Colorado Yeti. When asked after the game about his rival had changed, Carter Bush simply stated that Damien Kroetch remains his rival. Because when Carter Bush looks at the Philadelphia Liberty record books, he still sees the name that held him back. If Carter Bush can keep having repeat performances like last game though, those records won’t be standing for long.
Rivalries are a part of everyday life and even more so in the NSFL. There are both team and player rivalries. The rivalry between Josh Garden and Bradley Westfield is not well known but it will carry on until one of them stops caring. One of them will give up sooner than later I’m sure. These two battle every season and every game for legendary status. These two players will no doubt be hall of famers. The will be inducted into the hall of fame maybe even in the same year. You never know. On and off the field these two players continue to impress. Their age is starting to take its toll and Garden seems to be taking more of a hit than his receiver rival Westfield. These two are in contention for the greatest of all time even though the league has only been around for less than a decade. I have a feeling these two will keep on playing until they have arthritis or simply can no longer be competitive. Who will go out on top, who will play until their stat sheet is complete. No one knows for sure but we will know that eventually one will come out on top and it will be fun to watch the new recruits take their stab at some of the records these two amazing players created.

There is a deep rivalry within the NSFC between the Philadelphia Liberty and Baltimore Hawks. It’s been there since I was a rookie in S3 and even though I’m not on the Liberty anymore, it’s still deeply ingrained in me to hate the Hawks. I don’t have a problem with any of the members on their team at all and enjoy working with @iamslm22 and the rest of the gang, but I can’t shake this deep hatred for their team. Maybe it’s seeing the Liberty lose to them in the S3 playoffs. I know they weren’t happy about missing out on the S4 playoffs with a similar record as them in S4. They would return the favor in S5 beating us and making the playoffs with the same record of 8-6. We clinched the first seed in S6 and they missed out on the playoffs in this season. And we all know how the S7 season went. The Liberty and Hawks have been at each other’s throats since S3. Interestingly enough, they haven’t faced each other in the playoffs since then because both teams have actively stopped each other from making the playoffs every subsequent season. With the way this season is going, it looks like the Liberty may be just good enough to beat the Hawks to the playoffs again.
It hasn’t been an intense rivalry or one with many iterations that have played out over the course of years of storied history. Instead, the rivalry that I want to highlight is rather a new one. In fact, it only started this season. It definitely falls under the category of friendly rivalries as far as intensity is concerned. The two players I’m talking about are even on the same team. It might not seem interesting at first glance, but it’s surprising and evenly matched, so I think it’s one worth talking about.
Since he came into the league this year, Rickey @Ramero has been lighting it up on the stat sheet just about every week. He’s an athletic freak with impeccable technique, and he’s been put in an excellent position by our coaching staff. Statistically, he’s arguably the highest performing linebacker on the Yeti roster. Challenging him for that title, however, is yours truly. I had a breakout season last year (even winning Breakout Player of the Year), and I earned my first Pro Bowl berth. This year, I’ve been maintaining a pretty high performance level, and Ramero and I have been giving each other a tough time. It’s been great for team chemistry and motivation, and I look forward to seeing who gets the best of whom this year. Haruki Ishigawa Word count: 220
This is a very good rivalry. The rivalry between the QBs. The QBs are from different conferences but they are two franchise players. Yes, from the Otters and Wraith are Mike Boss and Akselsen. The rivalry has been great in the past instead of now but still, both playing against each other is the must-watch the game type of situation. Like a soccer match between Ronaldo and Messi which is a global type of match but a match between Boss and Akselsen is a nation type of match.
Though a lot of advantage does go to Boss because of the amount of success he had but mainly thanks to his team. But Boss has more ultimus championships than akselsen, more MVPs, more individual awards and more honours than Akselsen. It is pretty shame but it is still a fun rivalry but this battle between the two great quarterbacks may have come to an end where both of them are close to the end of their careers. But there may be another QB battle like Roenick..oh wait he switched out which he was forced to do so which is still one of the most disappointing moment in NSFL history but still, this rivalry was golden and still is.
Angus Winchester's rival would have to be Jayce Tuck. From very early on in season one when Angus was an offensive lineman and Jayce Tuck was a defensive lineman it became apparent that when these two faced each other it became a showdown of watching an unstoppable force meet an immovable object. Arguably two of the greatest players to ever play on opposite sides of the ball when these two met in a game it was a sight to behold. The fact is that Jayce Tuck never actually got a sack on Angus Winchester during that timeframe.
Fast forward to the current day and Angus Winchester is known leaguewide as one of the best pass-rushing LBs in the game. But the recordbooks still have Jayce Tuck ahead of Winchester for career sacks, and Winchester is working hard to close that gap. It remains to be seen if Jayce Tuck's season record number of sacks will ever be broken, and that may be something Winchester can never beat him at, but if he has his way Winchester will end his career with more sacks than Tuck while doing it in 2 fewer seasons (remeber that Tuck was suspended for one season while Winchester played offensive line for three). ![]() Hank Winchester (S25 - Current) - Scrub
