Just been thinking about something that's a bit of a tangent so I'll keep separate.
I think some of the criticism levelled at HO, is that we're quite conservative in our decisions and we don't make bolder choices. I think that's a pretty fair and accurate criticism. But it's also a consequence of the scrutiny that every decision comes under. As someone in HO it feels like you need to try and be able to defend every decision you make - which is fine - but it's not a mindset or environment which will encourage bold choices. It's not an environment that you feel like you can take chances and make mistakes.
This relationship between scrutiny/criticism and taking risks is something I've seen a lot professionally and I don't think sim leagues are much different in that respect.
