Darren Morris loves the offseason and training. It’s his favourite time of the year, hands down. He spends his days at a beach front property down South training on the beach and getting some excercise in out in the water. He’s an avid free diver, tempting depths of the water without any accompanying gear or equipment. The result has been lots of practice regulating breathing and conserving air.
The result has been a renewed focus on agility training this offseason for Morris. On the beach he’s used the poor terrain to practice lateral movement and getting side to side in quick successive motions. Getting up early and staying out well past the sunset, Morris is well known and recognized along the beach in front of his property.
In addition, Morris has focused on strength and getting his reps in the gym up. Never a huge guy, he’s put a larger focus on bulking up this offseason to better compete for balls and make big tackles down field. He’s hoping that this training regimen change will get him to a new level this season.
