What do you expect of Roc Nation?

I expect them to get me the amount that I ask for during my next contract negotiations. I know what I worth and although I believe I have received that this contract, I want them to ensure that I get what I ask for in the future.

Who will be your agent of choice?

Of course I would have Tim Pest represent me given the choice, however I trust Roc Nation Sports to assign the appropriate agent to me.

HOw do you think will the professional agency help your career?

There are two goals as a professional athlete:
1.) Win championships
2.) Get paid
Getting paid sounds callous, but it's literally my job and I need to earn as much as I can during the few years I have been gifted to play football professionally. I believe Roc Nations Sports has the ability to ensure that I get what I believe is fair payment.

In signing with Roc Nation, how do you expect your negotiations will go?

As I stated when speaking with my GM I expect negotiations swimmingly. We have mutual respect for each other, we have the same goal of winning and I think we both know what I am worth. Roc Nation Sports will just be there as my insurance so to speak.

Do you believe that Head Office is trying to get rid of player agents? How do you respond to this travesty?

I cannot speak on the intentions of the Head Office, but if they are in fact trying to get rid of player agents they are doing the league an injustice. Players spend all day working hard and be told to do better, in return they have to be grilled by their managers and told they're worse less than they believe. Negotiating is not my profession, I am a football player. So don't make me negotiate. I demand that an person with my personal interests in mind be allowed to negotiate in my place.

Why do you believe that Agents are an imperative part of the league?

As I stated already I am not a negotiator so I know I am being talked down by my manager sometimes, but further there are players everywhere taking hometown discounts. Not only is this good for the players, but the league needs player agents to create parity! I'm tired of seeing NOLA and OCO destroy their conference every season, let the players get paid!

Choosing an agency to represent you rather than representing yourself is a bold move in today’s NSFL. Is this a reflection on their ability to help you, or your own mental capacity to negotiate your own contracts?

Definitely more on my own mental capacity to negotiate. I'm happy with my current contract, but I know I could have gotten a more fair one if I had tried, I just care about the team too much for my own good. I believe having someone who is more skilled in negotiating will be able to get me the number I think I deserve in the future better than I could myself.

Many are calling you a menace to league stability. How do you feel this reflects on your long term career?

I don't know why people would say that. I've been an upstanding member of this league since I joined it. All I want is the ability to be represented by someone whose skill set is better that has my personal interests in mind. You wouldn't hire a carpenter to design a house would you? No, you'd hire an architect. How is this any different?

What caused you to get wise and get yourself an agent?

To be frank, advertisement. As soon as I found out the agency existed I jumped on it because I knew it would be better than negotiating contracts myself. I know what I'm worth, the trouble is actually getting the GM to agree to it.

Have the results of Roc Nation Sports impressed you thus far with their other clients?

To tell the truth I have been wow'd or disappointed. But I'm not looked to be wow'd, I just want what I believe to be fair value for my services to the Yellowknife Wraiths, and based on the conversations I've had with the representatives of Roc Nation Sports I believe they can get that for me during my next contract negotiations.

Unfortunately I have not yet had Roc Nation Sports negotiate a contract for me yet so I do not have anything to say about their abilities, but I can say that they promise to work their hardest and are a treat to converse with. I think it is a smart move of you to get an agent. I have been representing myself for years and keep getting stuck with minimum contracts. What caused you to get wise and get yourself an agent?
