Hello friends. In this article, we're going to be look aorund the league and giving you solid, measured takes on the events that teams are faced with. In a world that increasingly seems like if could be full of hot takes, we're going to try to be a more grounded and realistic place of comforting analysis. You are welcome to disagree of course because your opinion is important. Let's look into this teams and how they're doing. There's always a place in this wonderful league for different onions and viewpoints and processes.
SAN JOSE SABERCATS
At 9-1 these Cats are playing well. Their offense scores a lot of points and their defense doesn't allow that many. They've got a swell Quarterback in Joilet Christ and a pretty great running back tandem in Chris Orosz and Jerrod Canton. All of their offense is really gelled together and seem to be really showing that team spirit. That defense is no slouch either. It's hard to even pick a leader because this squad does it as a team together, the way football should be played in my opinion. It's okay if you like your football a little different than mine. It's not a surprise that this team is tied at the top of our power rankings. They are after all one of the best regular seasons teams in the league's history.
COLORADO YETI
Those Yeti are fighters aren't they? After a series of bold and innovative moves, the team is looking to command the NSFC, which is super competitive. At 5-5 and in the lead, these boys have earned that #1 spot that they share. Mycycle McCormick has done a great job of moving form kicker to QB. I would go so far as to say he's probably one of the top 3 kicker to QB transfers the league has seen. I know others have their favorites though so I don't mind if you're not a fan of my strong positivity towards this young man's play. They've fought bravely through a tough schedule and now look to try to control their own destiny down the stretch. They understand that the game is played right now and that's the entirety of their strategy. It's hard to argue with the results.
ORANGE COUNTY OTTERS
They're the defending champions of course. And at 7-3 they've shown they're going to keep defending that for as long as they can and that's why they occupy a space at the top of our list. A team with a rich history of winning and n offense that's just really good is always a team that other coaches and players are going to respect week in and week out. The extra T in Gus T.T. Showbiz is usually said to be for Talent, but I personally see it standing for Teacher. Every time he plays, I feel like he's teaching us all about Quarterback play. Outstanding veteran and former MVP Carlito Crush is having a great swan song to his long career and it's just hard to find anyone on this team who you can't look at and be amazed by. Such tremendous athletes. Such incredible human beings. Such a fun team that makes every game seem like anything could happen for anyone.
PHILADELPHIA LIBERTY
This upstart bunch of players has a chip on their shoulder and plays like an underdog at all times. It's a viable strategy as I think most of us can agree on. Led by the league's first lady Quarterback and outspoken and very confident young man Marquis Brown, this team will always give you a great challenge. The team has built a young an dare I say hungry roster that is not out of any competition. Currently they're in charge of their own destiny as they sit just a smidgen behind those brave Yeti in the standings. This team is pretty innovative too what with that QB situation they're working with. They're the kind of team you can't count out and that's why we count them at 1 on our big board. They've trusted the process for many many seasons and here they are.
ARIZONA OUTLAWS
Well if you're an Outlaws fan you're probably excited by the fact that your leadership situation resolved itself over the course of the season as a successor to 2 time playoff participant GM John J. Johnson was named this week. With some interesting obstacles the team has really shown it's grit to get itself to 5-5 and you just have to hand it to them. This team is still not out of the playoff race yet and given their singular obstacles in the offensive squad I don't see how you can knock them from the top spot in the rankings. This defense is mighty good and I don't envy the offensive coordinators who have to deal with it. I'm sure they'd love to trade places with their own offensive coordinators for an easier time of things! Ha! What a great team.
YELLOWKNIFE WRAITHS
While many teams would think they should aim for the draft coming up, this team prides itself on refusing to look ahead at all costs They're fighting all through the season and have their eyes set on making the playoffs this year. By golly it's a good strategy. If next year never happens those people who stockpiled draft picks or tried to get in position for generational team changing players are going to just feel super silly now aren't they? Meanwhile these Wraiths will know in their hearts that they gave all to participate. Quarterback Ryan Applehort is hanging on at his advanced age in a way that you just have to tip your hat to. This team really makes you want to root for them and that's why they're one of the clear cut best teams in the league.
NEW ORLEANS SECOND LINE
A team of young go getters and savvy veterans, this team is poised to really take the league by storm in the future just as they did before. With all of their super positive doot doots and other colorful cheers, the team that could is known for it's personality and wit. This team will forever be a challenger when you look at so many of the bedrocks of its success. Their unquestioned leader Borkus Maximus is going to go down as one of the 10 best Quarterbacks in league history and is one of the many pillars this team has been built from like Mills, Broxton, Evans, Law, Smallwood, and Oakes. For sure a #1 contender of a team and our power rankings reflect that.
BALTIMORE HAWKS
The heart and passion and fire of this team is remarkable and worthy of praise. This team is in the midst of a sea change and here they are still competing and showing you why this team has been to more than half of the Ultimus'. This is what the best in the league (tied) looks like because this team is made of greatness. They're a team of opportunity and they have great opportunities upcoming for Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Linebacker, Cornerback, and others. Any given Sunday this team can make a close game against anyone. I don't mind being firm in saying that, though you can have your own views too.
Well there we have it. A reasonable look across our wonderful league. I hope you see this as a nice change of pace from many of the other piece who push the aggressive and reactive stances that they're great at. It's a fine way to make your living as a writer, of course. There's always room for voices. Til next time, be well.
