Player Bio
Toriki started playing Rugby at an early age, playing first with her brothers and sisters before joining her local youth team. She had a natural talent for the game, continuing to play throughout her teenage years. She eventually made her way onto the New Zealand Under 20 Team for the Rugby World Championship in 2026 and 2027. Toriki decided to pursue a degree in psychology at the University of Oregon, where she decided to walk onto the football team in her sophomore year. Despite having little experience with the sport, Toriki was an excellent running back for the Ducks, collecting a monstrous 2457 total yards during her senior season and finishing second on the Heisman candidate list.
Analysis
By Chig Bungus, NSFL Analyst
Draft Prediction: Early-to-mid 2nd round
NSFL Comparison: Terry Taffy
Overview
Workhorse of a runner with strong legs, great vision and the ability to run deep into games if necessary. Excellent burst, able to create yardage through use of vision, her elusiveness and feel for space in both tough run situations and the open field. May have used a significant amount of her miles on the Seawolves, can struggle late in games without backup.
Strengths
-Compact frame, able to keep her center of gravity low
-Explosive cut ability
-Great north-south type runner, likes to go vertical
-Able to keep her feet moving and rarely gets held up by defenders
-Willingness to go dirty and rush through defenders if she has to
-Keeps her speed up even when switching directions rapidly
-Top-notch hip movement, able to make moves effortlessly
-Follows her blocks very well, takes advantage of space given to her
-Has shown the ability to handle a high workload
-Excellent character, team leader
Weaknesses
-Middling staying power, can have trouble rushing late into games
-Mediocre YAC, can catch the ball but rarely gets more than a few yards
-May be slightly undersized
-Needs more commitment on sweep plays, sometimes sits for too long looking for an opening
-May not be the same after the extreme workload in Norfolk
