(S19) - PT3 - Stadium Experiences

Laszlo Forty-Two created a new tradition this season actually. He has never really been one for that type of stuff past doing a routine that gets him really in the zone to crush puny people but this season he decided to so a rather simple tradition.

It requires looking into Wolfie McDummy's eyes incredibly intensely whilst invading his personal space and keep walking forward until the puny quarter back is stuck between a Laszlo and a hard place.

It may sound weird but when you have someone as big, scary and intimidating as Laszlo looking like he is going to hulk smash you and then rip out your spine it seems to make Wolfie very focused on getting through the game and truly playing well. The one time Laszlo did not do it this season resulted in a very bad match for him. So naturally Lazzy will be going back to this. It appears the rest of the Yeti will be joining in next time to truly make sure Wolfie understands how much the team wants him to bounce back.

Only other tradition Lazzy has seen is people wearing Yeti outfits but they might just be extremely cold fans in fur coats. It is rather hard to tell but it appears a few have made that a tradition as well.

This makes Baby Yoda sad because he doesn't have a team yet. Which means he's missing out on a lot of great opportunities. But he can relate to the stadium experience. Stadiums in the USA are very different from stadiums in Dagobah. For starters, they have walls. And places to sit. And they aren't set up in the middle of a swamp. Well, except LSU, but Baby Yoda hasn't played there yet.

The stadiums here have large steps, which can be very difficult to climb. And coaches like to make players run "stairs". It's supposed to be a leg exercise, but for some reason, Yoda feels like it's more of an arm workout. But that's okay because he wants to grow big and strong, so he can play in the NSFL one day. He also really likes the "concession stand", which is something else that Dagobah stadiums did not have. They have delicious foods like hot dogs, pretzels, and chicken nuggets, which Yoda loves. They also have sodas and some type of drink that the adults like, but Yoda hasn't been allowed to try it yet. Sometimes, it makes the adults angry and Yoda doesn't like to be angry, so maybe he won't end up trying it if he gets the chance. Overall, Yoda really likes the American stadiums with their walls and seats. And he can't wait to play in a DSFL stadium.

Except the Tijuana stadium. That one kind of reminds him of Dagobah. But that's okay. He'll still play there.

Since I am not a member of any DSFL or NSFL team I cannot speak of any current game day stadium experiences. When I think about stadium experiences, I think of all of the stadiums I haven’t had a chance to experience. I have yet to step foot in any DSFL stadium so that is an experience I am looking forward to. I don’t know if I have a specific stadium I am more excited for. Minnesota is too cold for me so that would not be on top of my list. Kansas City is kind of meh is when it comes to destinations although there are a couple fun spots around the city. I think most of all Portland would be the city and stadium I am looking forward to most. As for the NSFL, I have never seen the Austin Copperheads stadium in person. I know if will still be over a season before I finally make the trip to Texas but when I do, I expect a Texas sized experience. I assume the stadium will be a lot like the homes on that futuristic television show The Jetsons. If it turns out to be anything less than this, words will not be able to describe my disappointment.

The stadium rituals for the Wraiths are something that you've never seen before and I use the word ritual on purpose. Imagine if you will, a sea of a hundred thousand people who March to the stadium with robes and candle lights. We specifically put our parking lot a half a mile away from the stadium to force them to Do this. (Our fans are in great shape) And Within this group of people with candles and Robes are different animals..... animals Being dragged To the Tailgate area. Obviously the animals are freshly killed They have to be killed within the hour because when it gets to the tailgate area, we turn them upside down and we drain all their blood for the opposing football team and their fans to see. We sacrifice them in the name of the football gods and then we proceeded to eat them. It's the best tasting tailgate barbecue you'll ever have in your life. It takes about three hours to do though. So you want to be early. There's not a team in the league that has a better Tailgate ritual than us and to be frank, It's kind of terrifying and that's exactly why I love it.

Although most players have their typical game day routines and rituals, which Tyron Brackenridge is no exception to. Tyron's routines range from the mundane such as putting on the left half of his equipment first and completing 12 practice reps before the games in order to warm up. One of Tyron's stranger rituals is through importing pure uncut Canadian snow in the offseason, which he keeps frozen throughout the year, and using that either to peg Brayden Ennis in the head or to cool down before the game. This is understandably difficult in a climate such as San Jose but Tyron finds a way. Some of the team acts and superstitions would include things such as the howl chants that they do before they go out on the field to energize the team or the replica saber cat tooth that is given to the player of the game. Meanwhile Action, Brackenridge, and Ennis all have their group activities that they do before games which would include going through film and providing advice to eachother from various perspectives and then hitting up Ennis' favorite buffet or restaurant so that he can "fuel up" for the game because he "needs it" to excel. Lastly, of all the stadiums Brackenridge has visited in the NSFL, Orange County's takes the cake due to the history and the success they have had.

Baltimore Hawks fans have a game-day tradition called the "Scorp Chant". It is heavily inspired by the "Skol Chant" of Minnesota Vikings and "Viking war chant" of the Iceland national football team. The Baltimore Hawks version of this tradition uses the name of a legendary Hawk, Scorp. Before the start of every game and at various times during the game (such as scoring a touchdown or getting an interception), Hawks fans stand up in their seats and start yelling "Scorp" while clapping their hands over their heads. They continue to do so with an accelerating beat until they get twenty to twenty-five repetitions. Being in the stadium and witnessing this chant in person is one of the best parts of being a Baltimore Hawks fan. Our fans also love traveling and they also do the chant during away games whenever the opposing team's fans are not making a lot of noise, essentially turning any stadium to our home stadium. This gives our team a huge boost since home-field advantage is a very important thing in the NSFL. We also have other smaller game-day traditions, like tailgating and yelling bad things about our rivals however none of them are as important as the "Scorp Chant".

The Portland Pythons actually have a pretty interesting tradition. After every home game, they take a vote on who the player of the game was. That person then has to take home the python. Don’t worry, it’s not a real, live python, but rather a fake, toy python. They get to do whatever they want with the python, taking pictures with it in funny poses, putting it in funny situations, etc. Then they are responsible for bringing the python back to the locker room for the next home game where it sits until someone is voted player of the game and then it’s their turn to take it home.

After their first home game against the Minnesota Grey Ducks, Willie B. Hardigan was the recipient of the python. Then after the game against Norfolk it was handed off to Octavius Godspeed. Godspeed got to keep the python for two weeks until the team came back to Portland to face off against the Seawolves when Paco McTaco was fortunate enough to win the python. Then after their game against the Buccaneers, it was given to linebacker Mario Smart for his stellar performance. Two weeks later after the game against the Luchadores it was given back to Paco McTaco making him the first two time winner of the python. The player currently holding the python is defensive end Randall Jimmerson after he had a great showing against the Minnesota Grey Ducks.
