Honestly how do you let the Chicago war room decide, why would they ever vote to remove themselves from power? This war room is what put Chicago in this mess to begin with, an outside power needed to be put in imo. Feel sorry to anyone who ends up in Chicago for a while

The team should have a say in their GM, I always hate when HO tries to conduct a GM search for a team that already exists when there is leadership in place.

There are a lot of good choices, and I don't think they plan on staying interim for long. Just what I said above I think a team should get to have a say in their future GM and that's what happened here.
For anyone saying someone outside should have been put in, they will be. Many of the applications will come from outside people, but a team, and a team as a whole, should have a choice on their future GM. This shouldn't just be a decision made by 1 person, 1 group. If the team has no faith in a GM and doesn't agree with the decision it will lead to worse problems down the road.
Seems like a no win situation for HO here. I don’t mind that they didn’t opt for a full takeover of Chicago, forcing people from outside of locker rooms into a space where they aren’t wanted can be a disaster. I’m more surprised the war room rejected outside help though, I hope they actually have a real plan to move the franchise forward.
The season has to continue and it can't really do that in a competitive fashion without someone at the helm in Chicago. HO spent the weekend trying to find a solution and at the end of the day, the Chicago war room was displeased and wanted more time to decide for themselves. The team needs someone in charge to set DCs, do scouting, and generally keep team operations going. This seems like a suitable solution for all parties until Chicago can find what they want to do with their future.
The only people this decision impacts are the people in Chicago. If they want a say in that, then I'd say HO did the best they could here. It is a middle ground and we'll just have to have faith in Jiggly and Stennent to pick a worthy successor.
