This may come as a surprise to many, but the San Jose SaberCats did not have the honor of making the playoffs this season, despite having an equal or better record than more than half of the teams that did make it this season. If we had played in the NSFC, we would be the #2 seed in their division, and would have a great chance of making the Ultimus. I mean, this season we were undefeated against the #1 seed in our division, the Orange County Otters, and still didn’t make the playoffs. We were 2 out of their 3 total losses this season. Despite this, I think that the Otters will win it all this season. Franklin Armstrong has finally hit regression, but I think that he’ll be able to pull through and lead his team to the promised land just fine. Cadillac Harris will be sitting on his couch in a robe eating from a tub of cotton candy flavored ice cream for the entirety of the playoffs. Hopefully a police officer doesn’t break into his apartment and shoot him dead for no reason. But that’s besides the point. The SaberCats were snubbed from the playoffs this season, and hopefully we can make it there next season. That’s about all I have to say. I’m just glad that I got decent stats this season.

With the DSFL playoff picture firmly made, Kai Sakura hopes to up his game to help get the Grey Ducks not only into the Ultimini, but to take it home to the trophy cabinet. Coming after a disappointing week 13 and 14 where Kai did not catch one ball over both games, he has high hopes to unleash his potential in combination with other wide receivers, standout rookie Tychrondrius Hood and Ducks veteran Draymond Brooks to continue their stella passing offense through SnowBow whilst having MVP candidate Jamar Lackson occuping the backfield, lurking as a constant threat. The duel threat offense of the Ducks has been dynamic all season, but if Kai can add more to the plate, it could be the cherry on top of the cake to secure the Ultimini. Being pretty confident in beating the Royals, Kai still takes them as a serious threat but looks more towards the Ultimini, and presumably the Luchadores that will stand in the team’s way. Kai is confident that with a constantly improving team that gives it their heart and soul in the gym and on the field, they will be able to go on to lift the trophy and reward the hard work of all players this season, Kai included.

HeHateMe PickSix will not be sobbing on his couch this off season. We came close to a playoff run and ultimately fell short. PickSix learned for the first time in his career that as a team player who doesn't care about personal stats, success can be obtained. The Sabercats are poised for a deep window opening shortly and the team is very very young now with several of the old vets retiring.
The Sabercats were underdogs all year and we surprised a lot of people in the league with our strong finish. We were there till the very final game and beat OCO twice on the year as well. Something no team did this year. Spirits are high in the SJS locker room and we will look forward to the new year to see if we take a step back with a rookie QB or if we can continue our strong defensive play and make a push even faster that we thought. The cats will meow again and the league will be put on notice. Next year might not be our year, the year after that might not be our year. But we are on the rise as other teams are falling and we are poised to have a deep run within the next few years. 216 ![]()
On the NSFC side you really have to go with the Wraiths yet again this season. These poor saps put together great seasons year over year and just don't have the championships to show for it. The team this year seems even stronger than some previous ones though. Could this be the season they finally get over the hump?
As for the ASFC, I really wanted to be able to write about the SaberCats but alas they have barely been edged out of the playoffs. They had some amazing signature wins this year and it would have been awesome to see them pull off a miracle. It's hard not to just go with the Otters after the impressive season they just put down and with home field advantage. I think if I had to root for someone in the ASFC it would be the Copperheads but I don't really care for any of the ASFC teams in the playoffs to win it. I'm sick of the Otters, I'm sick of NOLA, I don't particularly love the idea of the Copperheads winning. Ideally the Wraiths beat any of them in the Ultimus. I think they have a nice team this season and are certainly due for an Ultimus win at this point. ![]() [OPTION]===========================================

There isn’t a dark horse team that can make a run in the NSFL playoffs this season. The only potential option would be that of the Sarasota Failfish, but that dream was cut short pretty quickly by an early safety by the Colorado Yeti. The Yeti mopped the floor with the Sailfish. And that leaves the following teams to choose from: Yellowknife, Orange County, New Orleans, Austin, and Colorado. Well, nobody is ever going to consider Orange County a dark horse ever. Yellowknife had the best record in the league at 11-2, even if it was inflated by playing in the very weak NSFC. New Orleans just won the Ultimus last season, and it doesn’t matter anymore because Austin defeated them in the other wild card game. Austin is on an 8 game winning streak after starting 1-4-1. So I guess Colorado is the Dark Horse remaining. This was a “down” year for the Yeti, as they’re slowly inching towards a rebuild, but even a down year for a decent team makes you a playoff team in the shitty conference. The problem is, I don’t see them being able to beat Yellowknife in Yellowknife. As a result, I see the Wraiths moving on to lose in the Ultimus, as is tradition. On the ASFC side of things, we get the exciting Austin vs Orange County matchup in the ASFC Title game, which in recent seasons has been even more exciting than the Ultimus. Everyone knows what happened the last time these two teams met in Orange County, as the Easton Cole 63 yard scramble for a Touchdown with the entire Otters’ Defense on his back is the season’s most memorable play. Cole will be a big part of Austin’s success of course, so it’ll be fun to see what he can do in this one. Sadly, it feels like Orange County will get some revenge, and they’ll move on to dust the Wraiths in Ultimus. We’ll see though! (329)

I pressed for time for this point task, but I’ll be writing about Myrtle Beaches' disappointing season and reflecting on my time there as a whole. Last season we had a perfect storm of send downs and an amazing draft. From the jump we all thought we were the best team and had the infamous myrtle beach chip on the perpetual shoulder. We had the Myrtle Beach bad boys thing going for a bit. Everything went perfect, the last week of the season we need all the chips to fall in the right place to get home field and they did. From there we cruised to an Ultimini. Such a wild and fun ride. This season was the polar opposite. We still had a good group of send downs and impressive draft haul. We were still poised to be the favorites to win. We had the same chip but everything went wrong. We lost every close game. Lost games we should have won. Costly turnovers cost us games, but still, in the last week of the season we had a chance to make the dance. We took care of business at Minnesota and just needed a win at Norfolk. Long story short 2 pick sixes and we still forced overtime where we lost. A wild and fun ride. I’ll always remember my time in Myrtle Beach.

It was close to the end for Norfolk...we had one last play to make and it had to count or we were out... and everyone on the team, everyone of our fans watching the game, they knew what was on the line. In the dying seconds of the fourth quarter...we couldn't get it done, we could've been sent packing, but now it was time....it was overtime.
Norfolk deserves to win it all in the DSFL because we have pushed and busted our asses all season to get to where we are. The activity and the mentality in the locker room has been and will continue to be at an all-time high. We won that game due to so many factors but the biggest factor being the 'want' and the drive of it all. I am very proud to be a part of this team, and call my answer bias, it is very bias, I believe we have what it takes to go the distance and really prove ourselves. The management is great, the roster is healthy, and together, we can all make the dream come true. We will make sure that everyone remembers this team, this roster, and just how good it truly is, they underestimated us all season, but no more of that! Good luck to my Seawolves, till the very end <3 ![]()
Looks like it is undeniable that the Orange County Otters and their MVP candidate Franklin Armstrong will be the champions of the NSFL season. While Armstrong gets most of the credit, the real reason for Orange County's continued dominance is their defense. Boasting what could be the best defensive backfield in the league, their are names like Korrin Abernathy, AJ Lattimer and Kacey Dream. These three cornerbacks combine for 2808 TPE as of the current updates for an average of 936 per player. This does not even include safety Tyrone Biggums and his 1000+ TPE as well as former number one overall pick, Vegeta who is earning at a max rate. Not sure how any teams can compete passes against this squad so look for the Otters to only allow less than twenty-eight points this postseason. The last piece of this championship defense is their veteran linebacker Lanzer Grievous. Another player that was over 1000 TPE at their max and still one of the best in the league at 958 TPE. Franklin Armstrong may get all the fame, but NSFL players and coaches know that this Orange County team will go as far as their great defense takes them this postseason.
