I think the main change the league should see some time in the future is a change to the sim. I think with a sim that provides somewhat realistic renders of ISFL players, nothing too in-depth but enough to make your player more noticeable than a blue circle, would be great for the overall immersion of the league. Im no expert in how the current sim work or how the league could possibly switch over to a new sim, so I'm sorry if I am just one of many people asking for a change that isn't really feasible. Also, I think another change would be to swap the main form of communication between teammates and coaches from discord to the site itself. This change probably isn't feasible either since discord is a much more fully developed app that allows for great and efficient communication, things an online forum cant quite replicate. Still, sometime in the future, I think it would be a good move to make to bolster accessibility to those without discord. Overall these are just two of many changes I hope the league can make in the future, and even though they may not be possible for quite some time, I hope the league can continue making other necessary adjustments before then.

Well the nsfl has a long run, but I think the name change is a good thing because whenever I told anyone that I played in the NSFL they would always think of not safe for life first :sad:. The only sad thing about it is that I’ll never get to play in the NSFL, only the ISFL. I’m sure there’s a lot of changes that could happen to the league to make it better, most of which either don’t affect me or are things that I can’t think of, so I’m gonna go with the one thing that was at the front of people minds for at least the first half of the season, weekly predictions. I think you people in HO or whoever made this decision should favor predictions over trivia. I know for me and most of the people I know in the league, predictions are more involving for the league. Last season i would go on jcink almost every day to make sure I’m not missing anything, but now I just can go on once a week on Friday and do the PT, Training, AC, Predictions, and Trivia all at the same time in like 20 minutes. Additionally, the trivia point task is more of a copy and paste sort of thing for me while I actually take the time to see if I’ll have good picks for predictions. #bringbackpresictions

Change is something that every organization goes through and while some change can be seen as negative, other changes can be really positive. Yes, the recent name change to our league was much overdue and entirely appropriate to execute; however, it does not really effect the way the league works or runs. For me if I could change something about the league I would love to address position swaps for players. As of right now I believe a player can position swap at any point of their career and I believe this should be something that is limited to a player’s DSFL career. The reasons for this have to do with how teams scout, the realism tied into a player’s render, and fair opportunities for new creates.

Firstly, this is my first player in the ISFL and I am coming to the end of my first season in the DSFL, so I want to start by saying that my knowledge of the inner workings of the league is still fairly limited. Despite this though, I have noticed that 99.9% of teams, when they scout, ask if a player is willing to swap positions. To me, this completely changes draft strategy and keeps players constantly guessing as to what their career may actually look like. By limiting position swaps to the DSFL, GMs really have to strategize on their best ways to approach the draft and allows individual players to get an idea of where they might end up. This also gives more fair opportunities to new creates to make an impact at a position. For instance, if a new player looks at their draft class and notices there is no LBs, they might decide to make a LB in order to elevate their draft stock for the coming draft, only to find out on draft day that 3 DL, 2 CBs, and a QB all got drafted first because they agreed to position swap for the team that drafted them.

1 – Remove trivia completely. While some users may appreciate the trip back through memory lane looking at the previous history of the league, I don’t. To me, trivia is simply a copy and paste simulator that quite often, I don’t even read. I think it should be replaced with predictions for each week of ISFL games. To incorporate the history of the league more, a PT task may be based on history, but with this scaffolding would be required for the novice and new users as they would not be aware of the league’s history and where to find it.

2 – Improving Free Agency. Free Agency should be one of the biggest events of the calendar as superstars and rising stars could potentially change teams. Currently it s rushed, unimportant and underwhelming. To improve this issue, you may look at adjusting the tampering date for upcoming free agents to provide greater chance for teams to meet with and discuss contracts with each other. You could also improve free agency by enlarging the cap and making it more money based on the free agency economy.

I'm a newer member here in the International Simulation Football League (a much better name than before) so I can't go into as much detail as I'd like in what I think needs changed as some of it may be short term bias creeping in.

I have some things I'd like to see modified or changed. First, the simulation itself is too game-able. There are enough detailed analysis and reports that exactly define how each attribute effects the game. The speed 'glitch' is something for example. It makes it so that the optimal build for each position is essentially solved and, although you can have success with different flavours of builds, it won't be as optimal. Some way of mixing this up (either with a newer simulation tool) or obsfucating it would be great.

Second, contracts and money. Money is simply too easy to come across and there isn't any reason to spend it other than weekly training and gear. This means that the actual contracts tend to be pointless. Most people will take league minimum and make their money elsewhere. What you earn for a season is the same as a couple of tweets and a short media article. Money should be harder to hoard and harder to get, making contracts more valuable. We should consider deflating bank balances after each season to support this and making hoarding more difficult.

Well this is going to be a pretty obvious one from me and that is to move away from jcink and onto a different platform and in a way where we can integrate other things into the site. Oh what a novel idea that is right? Wouldn't it be great if someone could look into that? What if I were to tell you that someone had looked into it and had made great end roads at it starting to develop some stuff for it and then some new guys who are worse at it decided to undermine those efforts and kick it all to the side? Crazy story right? Well maybe not so crazy since it actually happened. I had done a good amount of work and it was actually almost complete and then Lemon, Equilizer (who gives a shit about the spelling), and Kolt decided to throw that to the side and do it again all over without my help. The funny thing is.....well nevermind I'm taking back what I said/will say about them because they just want to better the league which I get, the unfortunate thing is I've poured a ton of myself into this league and it seems I'm constantly having my efforts been discarded or thrown to the side by people....that's why I'm probably leaving soon.

One of the changes I'd like to see is more encouragement of Free Agency. We all enjoy playing with our friends and, as someone who's only played for 2 teams in 23 seasons, I'm as guilty of this as anyone. I've literally never tested Free Agency before this season. But my time as a GM made me realize just how important a healthy Free Agency is to the overall parity of the league. A few ideas were pretty discussed and I think this type of discussion is great. As a GM, I tried to push for teams to open up the window that teams are allowed to talk to Free Agents before the signings open up, but the trouble with this is that the last thing we want to extend the offseason; it's universally considered too long and, while it can't necessarily be shortened as there is much work to be done in that period, it doesn't need to be artifically extended either. My pitch was to force teams to resign their guys before the playoffs begin or allow teams to start reaching out to potential FAs as soon as the last week of regular season ends. Teams can still resign their own guys until the end of the playoffs, but this extends the window of discussion and gives non-playoff teams something to focus on during those few days. Of course, teams that are in the playoffs will be focused on testing, but they can always assign a war room member or two as a representative to reach out to potential FAs while the GMs focus on testing. Many GMs did express discomfort with someone talking to their players during the playoff period (even if they were going to be FAs afterwards) and said that it didn't feel right. I understand that and it's not a perfect solution, but if it were between opening talks early or extending the offseason, I would open talks early. Of course, the third option is not to change the window at all, but I personally view this as worthwhile.
