It’s been a busy offseason for your boy, Honky Tonk Haywood. The successful car dealership advertising campaign has lead to numerous other endorsement opportunities for Haywood in the greater Philadelphia area. Many meetings and phone calls have resulted. HTH also recently extended himself to a new charity, which promotes local talented, burgeoning child musicians. With Honky Tonk’s help, the charity has been able to obtain and donate thousands of musical equipment to local youth programs in Philadelphia. Further, although initially said in jest, while Haywood hinted that he wouldn’t quit until he had finally provided enough to field a decent local band that reminded him of the great soulful blues, country, and rock bands from back home in Nashville, Tennessee, the charidable foundation has several youth groups with just that vibe. Haywood hopes to help put together a battle of the bands in conjunction with the charity sometime next year. Nevertheless, despite the busy schedule, Haywood has been packing on the pounds, working on his technique, and trying to become more of an on-field leader. HTH is hoping that his new leadership role in the community, mixed with his hard work in the weight room, yields better results for him in the upcoming season as the Philly youth movement tries to culminate into a force in the standings.
