When Pepelegs received a letter from a young fan who wanted him to show up for his birthday, he made it a priority to show up and give the kid the party of a life time. Although he has smol legs and cannot crry as much as a normal person due to the size of his smol legs, Pepelegs did his best to help set up a bouncy house for the kid in his yard the morning of the birthday party. The only issue was it isn’t quite to set up a bouncy house and as such, pepelegs woke up all of the persons living there and they were none to happy about the bouncy house, or being woken up at 5am to the sound of it being blown up. In addition to the bouncy house pepelegs also made sure there was plenty of pizza there for the kid and all of their friends to have a great time. Again an issue occurred when pepelegs only ordered meat lovers pizza (as he is contractually obligated to gain weight) and the family who invited him was vegan. This whole situation was a bad look for pepelegs but not unexpected, he is not the brightest blub on the Christmas tree to be fair.
First quarter of the season is underway. Many players have started receiving letters to start make appearances. Maybe this is something that really picks up right after your drafted. They hope you still are not to busy and too popular to ignore their letters. They are hoping for anyone to show up to make this appearance special. Unfortunately, it is just that. They want anyone at this point. Believe me, I love being the superstar and have all the fans running up for pictures and autographs, but this isn’t that. I think most of the letters I’m receive are the product of a copy and paste campaign to get a professional athlete at their event. Unless the letter is super personalized and shows they have been a fan for longer than the 4 weeks I’ve been in the ISFL, then I will not be attending. I also would be much more open to someone reaching out to me as a Minnesota Grey Duck. There is a level of pride I have earned in the DSFL. In the ISFL, for now, I am nothing. Until I prove otherwise I’m not comfortable making appearances on behalf of the team. Who wants to show up to a place after being built up and hearing the constant question of do I know X and X. I won’t be good enough for these appearances now. But in a few season’s my name is going to be the one the kids are asking about. I will need to remain humble and enjoy my appearances then.
If Vincent Jones Jr was invited to a fans birthday, there is absolutely no doubt that he would be there. As a kid, Vincent moved around quite a bit, so he really didn't get to make too many friends which meant he really didn't have too many birthday parties to attend or friends to attend any of his birthdays. So, he would jump at the opportunity to make a fans birthday something they remember for the rest of their lives. As for what he would do? He has had an idea for quite a while, he wants to make a use a tackling piñata. What is that you might ask? Well, it is pretty self explanatory, it's a human sized piñata filled with some of the best candy around but there is one small difference with this one. Traditionally, one would use a bat or a stick to unlock the delicious candy, but for this piñata, you must tackle it to get your prize. He would bring at least two though, because he'd want to show the kids how to do it properly and there is no chance that this would stand up to a Vincent Jones Jr tackle! Vincent would probably be the happiest person at the party, well I guess the birthday kid might be just as happy!
The birddogs are going to be improving throughout the season, especially after signing new safety Richard Mansher off the waiver wire. They currently are 1-2 after the first three games in the DSFL. Dallas went 3-1 in the pre-season, and at the start of the season had two incredibly close games. Their first loss included them blowing a 19-22 lead to lose 28-22 to the KC coyotes. The birddog’s best receiver Toastovich also had a great game with over a hundred yards with just five receptions. The second game was another close loss 20-17 to the Portland Pythons. The birddogs would continue to get unlucky on third downs this game as well doing worse and going a horrific 1/16. The Pythons were also able to churn out over a hundred more offensive yards with fewer penalties to top it off. The third game was a rematch against the Coyotes that showed the true potential of the Birddog’s. This included going 5/12 on third down and returning the favour with 447 offensive yards. They also had a diversity of offensive and defensive contributors with Richard Mansher playing his first game. This led to his first sack and a couple of tackles. Dallas continues to impress, and I look forward to seeing them progress to the top of the standings shortly! Dallas has 76 PF vs 75 PA, which is a better ratio in my opinion than the current first place Tijuana Luchadores who have a 51-67 points differential. The team barely beat the Pythons who had a close win vs the Birddog’s, and their defense is showing signs of weakness, while their offense shows inconsistency.
