17. Your team has announced that they will be laying ground on a new stadium next season. What additions would you like to see included in it. No graphics option available here.
First things first, the new Bondi Beach Stadium will be built on a sort of floating Island off the coast. It will be sturdy, built on a platform raised off the sea floor, but allowing the main stadium to be above water, with some undersea restaurants built below the stadium. The Western side of the stadium will have a full dock, for ships and ferries to drop fans off. There will also be a helicopter pad on this side of the stadiums second level entrance, this will be reserved for VIPs. On the outside of the Northern section will be the fun zone. complete with snorkeling, scuba diving, slides and rope swings. The southern side, outside the stadium will be similar fun, but with Jet skis, and tubing and some fishing. The Eastern side of the stadium will have rentable cabanas and a hotel overlooking the sea. Inside the main body of the arena there will be countless restaurants, fast food and bars, with a state of the art bungie jumping system going off the top, and skydiving out over the eastern side. 20. Make a scouting report for any of the ISFL or DSFL draftees. Show their stats, abilities, TPE, or highlights. Written or graphic option available. Gus Bus is a Fullback in the upcoming ISFL draft. He plays currently for the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. They finished the season with a record of 3-11. Despite being a Fullback, and a fair bit slower than the other running backs in the league, Gus Bus managed to be fourth in yards, behind 3 players who had roughly 100+ more carries. With a YPC of 4.1, he ran efficiently on the year despite a few slow games. It almost looked as though he was a boom or bust type player who would go off for 100+ yards and 6.7 ypc, or would carry 17 times for 32 yards. No matter when the yards came, they still came, finishing the year with 1194 yards on 4.1 yards per carry he was a true force in the short game, carrying for 70 first downs, and a 23% chance to get a first on every play regardless of distance. Then we have the money stat, 9 touchdowns. This was pretty middle of the road considering some guys with 400 carries finished with 17 TDs, it was still a very solid statline for an offense that struggled. Gus Bus was also one of the top two best blocking backs in the league finishing with 21 pancakes and only 2 sacks allowed. When he plays in his native fullback position those numbers are sure to go up, and sacks allowed will go down. For such a large body he also does well enough in the passing game, with 80 yards on 14 catches. I predict Gus Bus to be a valuable utility player able to fill many roles on the offense. 23. Create a billboard, magazine cover, unique trading card, or video game cover depicting a one of the league's stars. ![]() 27. What team do you think has the best branding in the league? What team do you think could use a refresh? Why? I think the best branding is a close choice between a few teams so I am going to do a kind of rate, based on uniqueness, ties to local culture or what the city is famous for, logo design, color choice, and overall. Doing what I like the best and what I think is the worst. Im also encouraged to do a media about this now so I might push that out. Honolulu is towards the top for me, good ties to local culture, incredibly unique name, the logo is good, the only thing i'm not completely sold on is the colors, but I think they are fine enough. 9/10 New Orleans is another good one, very unique, good colors, the light blue mixed in is interesting and unique in a good way, and the ties to local culture is fantastic, the logo itself is good as well. 9/10 New York is another top brand, I really like the name, I think its pretty clever nod to New York's history with king kong and the concrete jungle. The colors are very nice, overall I think it's hard to beat. 10/10 Philadelphia is one of my favorites, I really like the rebranded circular logo, if you've ever seen one of my logos I really like circular logos for basketball and Football. The name is incredibly unique and ties into the city history perfectly. Again the liberty bell logo is clever and fits the brand perfectly despite any taco bell references. One of my favorite brandings. 10/10 There are a few others that I really enjoy a lot, but they don't quite reach the level of these four so I wont talk about them here. The team with the worst branding for me, is Baltimore, now it's not that I don't think its good, I just think its the weakest in the ISFL. I like the new rebrand a lot more than the old, so I do like the logo now, but I am not a huge fan of the color combo, and the name is a bit bland, not super unique considering every Baltimore sports team is a bird, that does get them a little points for consistency but it's just not that unique. I would rate it a 6/10. there are some other teams I would give a 6/10, but they have one quality at least that I think gets them a slight edge. ![]()
#2. The Season 28 ISFL Draft class has turned out some pretty stunning players so far, with 19 currently over 1000 total TPE and another 4 members over 900 total TPE. I haven't actually done any research to see how this compares to other draft classes, but those numbers seem pretty dang high if I say so myself. Now that could be attributed to the fact that the Season 28 draft class also had an inordinate number of recreates, which I think would lend itself to members being serious earners in order to bring another player into the sim world. I feel like there would also be a lower percentage of members going inactive if they are committed enough to the sim league to go through one full player career and then decide to start a whole new player from scratch (well I guess they may have a nice little nest egg to start off this time around, but honestly money is pretty easy to come by so it doesn't really change much).
Notable players from this draft include: Brandon Prince - Running Back - New York Silverbacks - @Void_DCXI Prince is the only player drafted in the 5th round to still be an active and rostered player. Coming into the league via the Bondi Beach Buccaneers, Prince has remained at his DSFL position of RB, which in itself is almost a rarity. While Prince hasn't been a max earner (totaling 662 TPE at the time of writing), the commitment to stay in the league despite the rest of his 5th round compatriots abandoning the simulation is quite admirable. Dexter Zaylren - Quarterback - Berlin Fire Salamanders - @Laser Zaylren is the class's leading TPE earner, coming in at a whopping 1170 TPE. Now this is almost to be expected, as Zaylren is one of the many aforementioned recreates and even further was made by illustrious user Laser. Laser has won a host of awards, including GM Hall of Fame honors, and even ISFL Season 31 Offensive Rookie of the Year for his Zaylren recreate. This player is top notch and is very well deserving of the top TPE earner for the class, and surprisingly a steal in the draft, coming in at the 19th overall selection (Round 2 pick 5 for those who don't have calculator brains). While there were flashier players like Luke Quick and Busch Goose taken at the top of the draft, I can't imagine that Zaylren wouldn't be the first off the board if things were to be redone today. If anyone can make it into the Hall of Fame from this class, my money is probably on Dexter as he plays a key position and is set up to contribute for a long time to come. And this is where I start to cheat in my own post, as I want to recognize the Sarasota Sailfish for taking full advantage of the Season 28 ISFL Draft and nabbing 2 of the top 5 TPE earners in Offensive Lineman Stumpy Jones and Wide Receiver Saleem Spence. I'll go into each of the two player's noteworthyness momentarily, but wanted to comment on the excellent drafting that got the Sailfish to their Season 30 Ultimus winning team. Stumpy Jones - Offensive Line - Sarasota Sailfish - @FootballIsCool Jones comes in as the third highest TPE earner in the class, accumulating 1156 TPE to go along with the previously mentioned Ultimus XXX championship. Funny enough Jones went one pick ahead of Zeylren at number 18 overall (Round 2 Pick 4, c'mon guys I laid it out for you literally one person ago), but considering how things turned out I'm sure the Sailfish are more than content with the way their selection turned out. Saleem Spence - Wide Receiver - Sarasota Sailfish - @StadiumGambler Spence comes in as the 5th highest TPE earner of the class, racking up a total of 1144 TPE to date. As mentioned a third time now, Spence was an integral member of the Season 30 championship team in Sarasota, where funny enough he was able to swipe yet another award from my grasp, the first being the Season 29 Offensive Rookie of the Year award that Spence handily won after the voting committee decided not to include my player despite Spence coming up 11 catches and 304 yards short of my marks. Not that I'm bitter about it (well kind of about the Ultimus thing, that would've been cool to win but definitely not the OROY award, that was well earned and I'm only giving some friendly ribbing on the topic to one of the two receivers ahead of me on the TPE scale for the class). ![]()

26. I think it's a universally accepted truth that pro overtime rules in football are the absolute worst. The fact that one team is literally just given the ball with virtually zero guarantee of the other team being able to touch it is ridiculous. It's ruined so many great games and made fanbases ignite time and time again. The college rules are, by far, the much better system. While college overtime has the possibility of taking longer, it prevents games from ending in a tie and allows both teams a chance at winning. I know my dad absolutely hates the "hands to the face" call. It's basically a weaker version of facemask that forbids players from even putting their hands near their opponent's facemask. I'd do away with that as well. But my biggest change that I'd make, and I've been pushing for this for a while: no more kickers. The fact that 59 minutes of nonstop athletic warfare can all come down to one weak-ass leggy boi is just flat out absurd. Code: 172 Words ![]() ![]() Code: 641 words The Season 29 draft class is one of the average classes in my opinion. There’s a couple of busts in the first round, but there was some really good value in the later rounds. While there are some superstars, you’ve also got your average, just hangin’ our kinda players too. I’ll only be listing those I’m familiar with personally. Not trying to make a dig at anyone, but this is a TPE task, not a media article. 1.1 - shadyshoelace - Dante King (RB) - 970 TPE as of writing. King went first overall to the Baltimore Hawks where has has formed one of the better RB tandems in the league with Busch Goose. In TPE levels, shady is 3rd overall. 1.3 - fever95 - Lip Gallagher (CB) - 980 TPE Lip went to Baltimore as well. He’s had a good career so far, becoming the best corner on the Hawks roster. Lip is currently ahead of shady in TPE levels. 1.4 - Luciddreams702 - Lucid Dreams (DE) - 847 TPE WUCID!! Everyone knows this man. He hosts ISFL Game Day with KotASSa whenever they decide to do it, typically once a week. Lucid is, I’m sure, a great LR presence inside Philly and one of the stars in their defense. 1.9 - furiousPanda - Panda McKyle (QB) - 892 TPE Panda McKyle is one of those people that rolls through the door and says “ding dong” to announce his presence. He has been great since his rookie season last year and is most likely going to be on the Quarterback of the Year ballot, if not Most Valuable Player. Great pick by San Jose here. 1.11 - Opera_Phantom - Jay Cue Jr. (RB) - 998 TPE Well, well, well. It’s the man, the myth, the legend - Jay Cue Junior. This would have been a great pick for Yellowknife… if they didn’t trade him to Berlin. Cue Jr is going to be the leader in TPE for the rest of his career, most likely, and Yellowknife traded him for basically a 1st round pick since the players they got in return are inactive and near regression themselves, if not already regressing. It’s a big downgrade for a team that brought up their Quarterback of the future in Dustin Parmelee. He doesn’t have a run game to support him, and it showed this season. Yellowknife misses Cue Jr, but their pain was self inflicted. 1.13 - AllBetsOnJames - Tre’Mendus Johnson (LB) - 886 TPE Jimbo! He’s been an average safety since the position swap. He could’ve been an elite LB for Baltimore but they relegated him to the safety position. Shame. User-wise, fantastic pick. 2.6 - Haseo - Zack DiNozzo (TE) - 841 TPE Yay. I come in peace. I honestly didn’t know if I’d last this long on my return to the ISFL, but I’m glad I did. OCO has been great fun! I brought the Rookie of the Year back to OCO in Season 30, beating out QB Gimmy Jarappolo Jr against all odds. I was the first TE since Season 6 to win the award and the second Otter to win the award after Steven O’Sullivan in Season 3. How’s that for some history? Now I’m the team’s RB of the future, and I broke the league single season rushing attempts record and won the rushing title. Not bad, eh? 3.1 - bowl0 - Rean Schwarzer (CB) - 783 TPE OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN! My mans bowl has been a beast for OCO since we drafted him. He is a great locker room presence and has an abundance of jobs in the ISFL so his bank account’s nice and fat. One of my best friends in the league, I don’t think I’d still be on OCO if he wasn’t here. It helps that his player is badass too. ![]() ![]()

5. The league has a rich and fascinating history, and our perspectives on it differ from person to person. In 600 words or more, describe any significant moment in ISFL or DSFL history, whether you were around for it or not. Describe the context, the significant members, and the events. What exactly made this event so famous (or infamous) and why does it deserve to be remembered? Events might include championship wins, the inducting of players to the hall of fame, or even a league scandal. For a significant historical moment, I will talk about the first Ultimus that I won, which was also the first Ultimus that the Yellowknife Wraiths won. My portion of the story begins in Season 7 when my first player, Boss Tweed, was traded to the Yellowknife Wraiths. Up to this point, the Wraiths had been one of the most consistently successful teams in the league. In the first 6 seasons, the Wraiths never finished a season below .500. They made the playoffs 5 of the first 6 seasons and had made it to the Ultimus game twice, but had not yet been able to get over the hump and actually win a championship. After a 7-6-1 finish and a first round playoff loss in Season 6, they decided to shake the team up with some changes that they hoped would be able to push them over the edge. They shifted some of their offensive talent to the passing game by converting RB Eric Kennedy to WR and bringing in a young RB Robby Rainey to replace him. They also traded for RB Boss Tweed and converted him to LB to bolster the defense. It quickly became apparent that the Wraiths' offseason improvements had worked as they would get off to a 9-0 start in Season 7 before suffering their first loss. They would finish the regular season with a 13-1 record and as the #1 overall seed in the league. And they would open up the playoffs with a home matchup against the Philadelphia Liberty, who they had just beaten by 20 on the road in the final regular season game. Everything was on track for the Wraiths to complete their storybook season by winning their first Ultimus. However, Season 7 was not the season that the Wraiths would win their first Ultimus. Their first round playoff game got off to a disastrous start as the Liberty would rush out to a 17-0 lead and the Wraiths would never recover. They cut the lead down within 3 points a couple of times in the second half, but the Liberty continued to answer back with more points of their own and the Wraiths would never take a lead at any point in that game, with the Liberty taking a 40-31 victory. After a dominant 13-1 regular season, the Wraiths wouldn't even get a single playoff win as they would fall short in the opening round at home against a division rival who they had just blown out on the road a week earlier. The Liberty would go on to win the championship that season and the Wraiths were left reeling after a devastating playoff loss. Coming in to Season 8, the Wraiths had one goal: redemption. They had blown what seemed like a golden opportunity by not winning a championship after a 13-1 season, but they still had a chance to make things right if they could rebound from their playoff disappointment and make up for it with an Ultimus run in Season 8. The Wraiths kept their core roster intact, though it was weakened by regression as Season 8 saw the league's first wave of regression with Season 1 players facing regression. They would also bolster their roster midseason by acquiring star linebacker Micah Hendrix in a trade with the Phildelphia Liberty, who were deciding to trade pieces away and enter a rebuild as they had already won the championship the previous season and had an aging roster. The Wraiths weren't quite as successful as they were in the previous season, but they still finished with a league best 11-3 record to give them the #1 overall seed in the playoffs again. However the real test was whether they would be able to deliver in the playoffs this time. They opened up with a first round matchup against the Baltimore Hawks. The game began and it looked like history was repeating itself from the previous year as the Hawks took an early 21-0 lead and it looked like the Wraiths were going to get blown out in the playoffs after another successful regular season. However, this time the Wraiths were ready to fight back. They would cut the Hawks' lead down to 3 before the end of the 3rd quarter and would tie the game up early in the 4th quarter. The Wraiths never gave up the momentum as they scored 2 more touchdowns in the 4th quarter and would walk away with a double digit victory. In total, the Wraiths would end the game on a 38-3 run after facing a 21-0 deficit midway through the 2nd quarter. They exorcised the demons of the previous season by avoiding another early playoff exit and making a big comeback after facing an early deficit. The Wraiths were advancing to the Ultimus game and would have home field advantage in the championship for the first time in franchise history. They found themselves matched against a red hot New Orleans Second Line team that had won 7 of its last 8 regular season games and had upset the Orange County Otters on a last second field goal in the opening round of the playoffs. The Second Line took an early 3-0 lead, but the Wraiths would take the lead on a touchdown in the final moments of the 1st quarter. The Wraiths never looked back after this as the Second Line never retook the lead and the Wraiths led by double digits for most of the second half, ultimately coming away with a 24-13 win to clinch their first Ultimus in franchise history. This is probably one of my favorite storylines during my time in the league. It was fun to see the Wraiths finally getting over the top after sustained success in the league's early seasons that was never quite enough for a championship until Season 8. And it was especially fun from a personal perspective since my own player was a part of it. The Season 7 playoff loss felt brutal when it happened, but now it becomes a fun part of the story after knowing the Wraiths would come back strong and make up for it in the following season. The 21-0 deficit in the Season 8 playoffs was also a moment of despair when it happened, but it made it all the more exciting when the Wraiths rallied and came back, especially with the previous season's playoff results weighing heavily on the minds of Wraiths players during that game. It was a fun couple seasons to experience and it was a fun walk down memory lane to recap it here. (Word Count: 1101) |
