The most improved player in season 2 has to be my team mate Tim Pest. Last season, he joined somewhat late, and it showed. he had one of the highest allowed sack totals in the league, with average pancakes. This year however, you could argue he is the best OL in the league, even above Angus Winchester, who has had a bad season. (Gave up 2 sacks in the first game rofl) Hes proved the Outlaws they've made a great choice picking him at 3rd. On his way to back to back titles, Pest has shown that no defensive player will be able to blow past him and hit his QB King Bronko. This season, Pest has 49 pancakes, with 0 sacks allowed. He is the only player that has 0 sacks allowed with more than 40 pancakes. 49 pancakes is good for 7th best in the league, and he has only played 13 while some of they guys above him have played in 14. There is reason to believe by the time the season officially ends he will be top 5 in pancakes, and possibly 0 sacks allowed. He is going up against LV with 2 great DTs, but even so, no matter what has happened, Pest deserves most improved.

For most improved player, I’d like to give a shout-out to a player who has been a strong part of the Wraiths’ this season: Brice Boggs. He was picked up off the waivers early into Season 2 and has been an active and welcome addition to our team. Even though he is still considered a rookie and will be part of the upcoming Season 3 draft, it’s easy to forget as Boggs has been active with us for the entire regular season. In addition to his enthusiasm, he has made great strides, improving heavily in Strength and Agility. And it has shown on the field. In 14 games, Boggs has picked 82 tackles, averaging almost 6 per game. And that includes 5 for a loss. On top of that, he holds claim to 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and an interception. While many rookies were forced to prove themselves against other prospects, Boggs has picked up tried and true experience on the field alongside active NSFL players both friend and foe. And, while no one knows exactly what the future holds, this young rookie is no doubt primed for great things to come. We here at Wraith Nation salute Brice Boggs for a great effort this season and wish him only the best over many seasons of greatness.

Improvements aren’t only done on the field during the game, but in the locker room and throughout the Team Facilities. Someone that has made a huge impact and a lot of people in San Jose would say had helped improve the team immensely is none other than Darren Smallwood. Once A.C. Hackett and Bailey Cook were traded, everything was looking down in San Jose. Once Darren Smallwood arrived in San Jose everything changed. The locker room had a new presence in it and a lot of familiar faces stepped aside to see Smallwood step up. Darren became a vocal leader from day one and has helped already change the face of San Jose. A lot of teammates are already putting in more work and the locker room is alive in plan and thought. Darren Smallwood is nothing short of a miracle that the San Jose Sabercats needed to turn the team around and go in the right direction. So even though a lot of people are looking at most improved on the football field, Darren Smallwood is the most improved player in San Jose by bringing life and reigniting the flame under a lot of players to help push San Jose to the promised land.

Darlane Farlane is the most improved player from season 1 and now he is the best running back in the league. His improvement is the best in the league from season 1 becoming the best running back in just a season. Darlane Farlane was able to go from a nobody in the league to a starter on one of the best teams in the entire national simulation football league. Darlane farlane was able to run behind the powerful offensive line that included pat pancake and be the best running back by like two hundred whole yards. That is a big number and should be proof that he is the most improved. Darlane farlane should be thought of as the most improved because of him going from a nobody but also to the best person at his position. Darlane farlane was also able to help the hawks come from a no playoff team to the first seeded position in the playoffs behind the running that was put on the field by darlane farlane. I think darlane farlane bring the hawks offense to the playoffs with the good offensive line should mean he is the most improved player of this season in the whole league.
The most improved player in the NSFL has been Kendrick Hendrix, WR for the Colorado Yeti.
Last year he had a great season as the steady eddie of the Colorado offense. He caught 69 balls for 868 yards and 4 touchdowns. He averaged 12.6 yards per catch as a chain mover of the Yeti's run focused attack. He helped them get downfield and let the running backs pound the rock in. This year the dynamic has changed. They lost their WR3 in Jonathan Shaloiko and second string RB, Luke Tiernan, focused his efforts on the LB position. As such, the Yeti switched to a more air focused attack. This, along with the improvements Hendrix placed on his agility and downfield speed, has generated a career year for the wideout. He caught 72 passes for 1198 yards, and 9 touchdowns. His average increased from to 16.6, a full 4 yards more per catch. Clearly the offseason helped Hendrix round into form as a more explosive receiver downfield. It also allowed him to be a difference maker instead of just a chain mover, generating 30 more points for the Yeti over the season. For the reasons above, Kendrick Hendrix is clearly the most improved from S1 to S2. @deadendpath27
I'm actually going to avoid the stat lines for this one. While a certain amount of randomness can impact the outcome of a player's stat lines for the season, one thing that is absolutely obvious is when someone begins to put in more effort than they had previously. Namely, Arbin Asipi has really done a one-eighty when it comes to activity and dedication. I believe last season he ended with a measly eighty-five total points earned, including his free fifty points. The last time I checked he had reached one hundred seventy nine total points earned before the season has even ended. That's more than a three hundred percent increase in points earned and I think that is a fair representation of his activity.
Whether it was winning the ultimus, or just a desire to actually back up the plethora of trash talk he does, it's proven to be effective. He's become a real anchor on the defensive line in Arizona. Next to up and comer, Luke Pierce, Arizona will be a run stopping force for years to come and the front office has to be excited about this rejuvenation. Arbin's time as a force to be reckoned with is coming, and it's approaching quickly. Hopefully the halfbacks around the league are as ready as I am. |
