Much like in baseball the arbitration process goes for a few years until you're a free agent, it makes sure guys are paid based on how they play; in our league, based on how they earned TPE. So yeah you can sign that 1M deal for 4 seasons this year but if you keep tearing thru TPE, the cap hit is going to be, just an example, 4M by season 3. Helps keep from stacking a bunch of friends on one team or super teams and promotes parity. We could also do this to be more like the NFL as guys are cut because their cap hit isn't worth it compared to what they would be paid. So guys with bad builds or guys that float away could move teams as well; so no guaranteed contracts. Helps protect the teams also helps protect players when the system is combined. This OMG ya'll wanna raise the mins because Outlaws built a great team atmosphere, guess what, our players are still gonna take the min and be better off than the other teams that dont have players taking the min. THIS would stop it, however. we arent better off because we take the mins, we're better off because contracts dont scale up, and i can sign my 380 TPE DE to a 1M contract and never scale up, or sign my newly drafted OL who will soon become one of the best OL in the league to a 500K deal, and so on and so forth. say it with me: changing mins fixes nothing ![]() ![]() (09-07-2017, 06:59 PM)ADwyer87 Wrote:we arent better off because we take the mins, we're better off because contracts dont scale up, and i can sign my 380 TPE DE to a 1M contract and never scale up, or sign my newly drafted OL who will soon become one of the best OL in the league to a 500K deal, and so on and so forth. The initial proposal did address that part of it by forcing contracts to increase. ![]() (09-07-2017, 08:59 PM)ADwyer87 Wrote:This OMG I'm just trying to see your position here. If so, how would you solve it?i mean, in the end its up to them. they're taking mins cuz they want to be here. you gotta take it into perpective too. we signed 4 players to a min contract this year. 1 was me, the GM, im always gonna take min. 1 was Jayce Tuck, who has 46M in the bank. the other was an S1 who at the time was under 200 TPE. the other was Dental Dam, who i guess could have gotten more but he asked for it so hey. So i mean, thats not quite a rampant problem. as a GM i always take min, Jayce Tuck has no need for money, and Asipi is great but not the greatest TPE earner exactly. in context, its not huge. how to "solve" it, i already said. allow scaling up mid contract. That way things like me signing Asipi for 500K for 3 years just one week before he passes into the next tier, happens. would be much more effective than just raising the minimums, especially to a whopping 10M? teams are gonna have 10 guys lol ![]() ![]() (09-08-2017, 01:38 AM)ADwyer87 Wrote:i mean, in the end its up to them. they're taking mins cuz they want to be here. you gotta take it into perpective too. we signed 4 players to a min contract this year. 1 was me, the GM, im always gonna take min. 1 was Jayce Tuck, who has 46M in the bank. the other was an S1 who at the time was under 200 TPE. the other was Dental Dam, who i guess could have gotten more but he asked for it so hey. I also think you're right that we're still early in the stages of contracts and TPE. But this has always been my issue with the contract, unless you're AC Hackett, the incentive for super active players to take above minimum is minimal. The way money works, it's actually counter-intuitive for contract. I'm sure you right that parity will be reach as we continue, but this is my worry, whether it's for the short term, there is a strong correlation between active locker rooms and successful teams wins. This is me speaking as someone who has been in the Wraiths and the Sabercats, the future of the team may be hurting as the team fails to succeed and thus new players may drop out so that by the time we do hit 1k TPE, we're looking at a 4 team - 4 corpse league. We need, at the very least, a short term fix. [div align=center]
