There are people around the league asking for some community input into punishments that are being doled out around the league. After bickering that has gone back and forth Jorel Tuck has decided to bite the bullet and give the people want (he can guarantee at least seven people around the league want this…), it is time for Judge Jorel and the People’s Court.
Now, let’s take a look at some of the more recent punishments and transgressions that may have been unpunished that have been brought down by or completely ignored by the head office in their ivory tower.
The Baltimore Hawks Circumvent the Salary Cap
The context: Ryan Applehort is not listed on the budget of the Hawks, putting them over the salary cap by $2,000,000.
The NSFL head office ruled: Applehort was immediately added to the budget and the Hawks were forced to go under the cap by reducing an offensive line bot. The following season the Hawks faced a fine of 2x the amount they were over the cap, equivalent to $4,000,000 in season 12.
Judge Jorel rules: This head office was not too far off on this one. Applehort should be added to the team budget to put the Hawks under the cap. Furthermore, the 2x fine of $4,000,000 fine for S12 should hold. However, Judge Jorel would argue both general managers of the Baltimore Hawks forfeit 50% of their salary. General Managers are paid for completing GM tasks, including keeping the team under budget, something they did not do in this case.
Kckolbe Leaks the Draft
The context: Arizona Outlaws adviser Kckolbe posted a media article that was highly suggestive of many of the draft picks leading up to the NSFL draft.
The NSFL head office ruled: KCkolbe leaked picks from the war room information. His punishment included $8,000,000 fine, lost mock draft TPE for S12 and S13, banned from war rooms for 2 seasons.
Judge Jorel rules: This is a tough one. Kckolbe provided information that was definitely suggestive of the draft picks. However, could it be argued that he did not TECHNICALLY leak information he was not supposed to…I would say yes. Kckolbe was pushing the boundary a bit here but he did not leak in the same sense of directly telling players exact picks. Judge Jorel believes kckolbe should be docked any Mock Draft TPE for S12 and any profit he made from his article, doubled ($1,000,000). Furthermore, the rules regarding war rooms and leaks should be ironed out to restrict war room members from discussing the draft AT ALL once the draft process has started. After this rule in place, a harsher penalty should be placed on violation of said rule.
Swagsloth Make a Multi
The context: User Swagsloth creates a multi out of boredom and reports it to the head office before the player is drafted or plays a down. He does not make other posts with malice on the multi attacking other users, etc.
The NSFL head office ruled: Swagsloth was banned from the forums for two-weeks, Swagsloth’s player was suspended for 4 games, Swagsloth was fined $6,000,000, Swagsloth was banned from mod privileges indefinitely, the multi account was banned.
Judge Jorel rules: Swagsloth confessed to the multi before it was able to do any damage to the league. Because of the good faith Swagsloth displayed by reporting his own multi, Judge Jorel favors leniency. The multi account will be deleted. Swagsloth receives a $5,000,000 fine for his shenanigans and a 3-day forum suspension covering at least 1 weekly prediction opportunity. A stern warning is issued regarding future multis.
Daybe Leaks a User's IP
The context: Daybe leaks another members IP address. (Note: at this date, I cannot determine the exact context of the leak. I am working under the assumption a username and IP address were publicly posted with no malicious intent).
The NSFL head office ruled: Daybe received a 2 season moderation ban and was fined for $2,000,000.
Judge Jorel rules: In this context, Judge Jorel does not believe intent matters. Posting a user’s IP publicly can expose them to various forms of real-life harassment and the league should make an effort to prevent this by protecting the privacy of its members. Judge Jorel rules Daybe receives an indefinite moderation ban with the ability to appeal in 3 seasons. Daybe is fined $10,000,000.
The Otters Have Extra TPE
The context: Various members of the Otters are over their TPE by significant margins, in the 10s of TPE.
The NSFL head office ruled: *Crickets*
Judge Jorel rules: Math errors happen, this is for fun and we are all people. However, eventually the size of TPE violations seen here cannot be ignored. All users must immediately correct their TPE totals. All users who were over their TPE actual TPE by more than 15 will lose 25% of the TPE they were over. The Otters updater is fined 50% of their salary for the season (Note: updaters should also be paid more overall). If it was determined miscalculations were a part of approved regression, the person in charge of approving regression this season is fined $2,000,000.
To Wants to Punish that F***er
The context: To12143 is leaked saying he wants to punish a site user
The NSFL head office ruled: Nothing
Judge Jorel rules: The head office is made up of people that are a part of the same league as us, they are human too. However, they should not hold personal biases against members on the site when making decisions regarding the site. Nor should private head office conversations be leaked. To12143 is fined $2,000,000. Judge Jorel does not feel his phrase necessarily means he would unfairly punish another user, but HO should be held to a higher standard than other users. If the leaker from head office is discovered, they should be relieved from their position, banned from management positions for 2 seasons, and fined $10,000,000. Any punishments levied against user Kckolbe must include head office and at least two members from the appeals committee for the next two seasons before a punishment is issues to prevent any potential bias.
