News has broken that things may not all be running smoothly as many are led to believe within the confines of the New Orleans locker room. After multiple noise complaints and officers being called to the stadium, we sent a reporter to investigate exactly what was happening at the scene. We are afraid that the reporter will never be the same after what he witnessed and isn’t able to speak at the moment. Instead we will have to report these harrowing events as he gave them to us.
As the reporter arrived at the stadium, a blood curdling sound echoed from within the stadium. It shook the windows of the news van and the driver came to a stop, unwilling to continue forward. As the reporter poked his head out of the van, he saw people fleeing the stadium in droves. Thousands of fans flowed from the stadium like water, desperately stampeding over each other to escape.
There were a multitude of screams as another window rattling sound shook forth from the stadium. The reporter had to swallow down his fear. This was his job. He had to report the news. He had no choice. While the crowd did their best to scramble away, it was up to this reporter to discover exactly what chaos lay inside the stadium.
He pushed through the fleeing masses and eventually made it to the doors of the stadium. Suddenly things seemed very quiet as no one and nothing stood between him and those doors. The fleeing crowds were distant now and an eerie silence fell over him for a moment. It was then he could hear some shouting followed by that deafening sound once again. He quickly covered his ears and had to take pause. What was going on in there?
He pushed inwards and started making his way towards the locker room area. There was clearly some tension in the air. You could hear screaming and shouting and even a bit of cheering? The closer he got the more odd it seemed, but one thing was sure. You could feel the tension in the air. He entered a long hallway that led to the locker room. Another roaring sound threw the reporter off balance. He tried to cover his ears, but it was too late as they were left ringing.
He was clumsy and disoriented as he continued towards the source. Everything he has reported afterwards may be off base due to his disorientation, but he apparently fell into the locker room and found an incredibly disturbing scene. There stood Quenton Bode, star linebacker and resident polar bear of New Orleans Second Line. Standing across from him was Ugarth the Dissector, the up and coming Orc linebacker who was expected to be called up from Tijuana next season. All around them were members of the Second Line team. The two seemed to be having a roaring competition.
In some display of dominance they battled over who had the loudest roar on the team. You would think Bode would have it well under hand, but Ugarth was not the type to allow himself to get shown up. it seemed neither were willing to back down as they were both being urged on by their friends and teammates. Shouts of “don’t let the new kid throw you off, Bode” and “you can totally take him, Ugarth” seemed to flow from the crowd as they pushed the two massive linebackers against each other. More roars, more cheers. Even Ironside himself threw out a roar of his own, but he was a mere human and could not match these two monsters.
Back and forth and back and forth they went. It became a pretty drawn out event as Marcella T?riki even brought snacks for the team to enjoy as they watched this display. It seemed to go on for ages as no one even seemed to notice the poor terrified reporter who dared not move in fear that the two competitors might spot him and turn their rage on him instead. The drama intensified as the competition went late into the night with no sign of a winner.
It was at this point that Stan Francisco, team captain and glorified leader showed up with the party. Plenty of alcohol for everyone. Nothing eases built up tension like alcohol. It wasn’t long after this that the competition faded and the team unleashed themselves onto the streets of New Orleans instead. The one place in the world that a massive polar bear and an orc could have a night on the town together and completely fit in. No one would ever ask questions or take a second glance.
Though likely the best of friends, one must wonder how long it will be until these two behemoths are at it again. After all, their competition had no winner and everyone knows just how competitive football players can be. Despite not knowing just how authentic this report is, we will be monitoring the situation closely. Or perhaps not so closely as we will be able to hear it from miles away should the drama ignite again.
Meanwhile we’ll keep you all updated on our reporter who seems to keep telling the doctors that he is afraid of being eaten. This is what happens when you send a foreign reporter to check in on the Second Line. All the locals know that is absolute hogwash as Mr. Bode would never eat a fan. He is a very refined polar bear and he has worked hard to maintain his image and pave the way for others of his kind to join the league. He would never dare stain his image in a way that might ruin that. He’s a big, friendly, cuddly teddy bear.
Then again, it may have been Ugarth that sent the reporter over the edge. Rumors of his brutality have already been circulating the DSFL. I personally can’t wait to see him hit a NSFL field and take the league by storm. It will be very entertaining to see these two beasts playing side by next season as the Second Line look to build off of the season they’ve had this year.
