Hello and time appropriate greeting to you current and future members of the National Simulation Football League! The time for the mock draft is upon us and as they are paid out quite well I want to get in on it as someone who aims to have a large sum of money in their bank account. That said this will be a bit different than a standard mock draft where there are decisive rankings and expectations of who goes where. Also before we get too far I just want to mention I am making use of the fact that my agent persona is metafictional and will be speaking a lot about our universe terms instead of in universe terms. Thank you.
Welcome to design a draft! Think of it like build a bear, but for simulation football league drafts. I have collected every new draft prospect who had over 150 TPE according to the TPE tracker as of the April 5th update, and then collected all the bank numbers for them at approximately 7 PM Pacific Standard Time. (Only one person that I know is a recreate is included as I owed them something nice since I did not make it to them in my draft recap series.) I then converted those numbers into an approximate value score that is simply one to one with tpe, and one to one million money. So if you have 220 TPE and 13.7 million in the bank you will be given an approximate value of 234.
Rough Approximate Value Chart
300+: The Best Around
250+: First Overall Contender
230+: First Rounder
190+: First Rounder (In a normal draft class)
150+: Quality Contributor
Not sure I will do a profile on everyone whose data I collected, but I will start at the top and go until I run out of useful commentary. Then at the end I intend to also do a special to discuss the NSFL teams and why any prospects that might be reading this should want to go to them. So this design a draft special is designed to help both sides. The general managers by giving a player's perspective on their fellow players along with shouting out their teams, and the players by getting to hear some nice things said about them along with getting to see why they should be happy regardless of who drafts them. With the introduction out of the way I will get into the rankings.
User: Tesla
Player: Magnus Rikiya
Position: Defensive Tackle
Approximate Value: 310 (1st Overall and 1st among Defensive Tackles)
TPE: 216 (Tied for 9th overall, and tied for 2nd among Defensive Tackles)
Bank: $94,464,065 (1st Overall and 1st among Defensive Tackles)
Profile: If you are reading this are you honestly surprised? I admit readily that pride is only my second favorite of the deadly sins, but it is still quite near and dear to my heart. That said I have max earned since sign up save for a couple of things I missed that had deadlines near the day of sign up. Combined with having written about half a novel worth of material during the last media weeks to set up a solid bank account for myself and my boy Magnus Rikiya. Anyone who is reading this to make a mock draft just a friendly notice that I am a lady. Also please mock me and my boy in the first round; thank you and have a lovely day.
User: Troen
Player: Troen Egghands
Position: Defensive End
Approximate Value: 291 (2nd Overall and 1st among Defensive Ends)
TPE: 221 (3rd Overall and 1st among Defensive Ends)
Bank: $70,130,920 (2nd Overall and 1st among Defensive Ends)
Profile: Troen! A friendly face who has been a wonderful Jackbox Host on a few occasions now. Probably the second best analyst in the draft from what I have seen of media pieces floating around. Were also of immense help to me when I got started by showing off their approved wiki page before the draft so that I knew what to do. Beyond good at media production as you can see from them being the second richest non-recreate of S22. Great render for their player as well. All around a great pick and I fully expect Troen to do wonders for whatever team gets to draft them. That said please continue to invite me when you host Jackbox games friend! Undeniably the best defensive end in the draft I would say with their control of the triple crown at the position.
User: Exilizer
Player: Derred de Ville
Position: Linebacker
Approximate Value: 284 (3rd Overall and 1st among Linebackers)
TPE: 229 (2nd Overall and 1st among Linebackers)
Bank: $54,623,650 (4th Overall and 1st among Linebackers)
Profile: I just realized sitting down to write this that I do not think I have seen Exilizer in a while. They were spotted on the site today with an awards articles, but I cannot recall us having a conversation recently which is something I should fix. Last we spoke it was a pleasant conversation if I recall and I would happily consider Exilizer a friend as we even had a friendly wager on the DSFL draft. A great producer of media both written and graphical. Got my vote for best graphics person in SiddhuS' poll a while back actually because I dig their trading card work. Also loved their earlier written pieces from when I was scouting defensive players. Just top notch all around and comfortably the best linebacker in the draft with the triple crown.
User: BadLck
Player: Phat Boi
Position: Defensive Tackle
Approximate Value: 270 (4th Overall and 2nd among Defensive Tackles)
TPE: 259 (1st Overall and 1st among Defensive Tackles)
Bank: $10,981,840 (40th Overall and 5th among Defensive Tackles)
Profile: King Phat Boi! Loved his attitude since day one as he is understandably confident given his comfortable TPE lead, but I cannot recall having seen him actively put another player down. I respect people who are confident in themselves without tearing others down. Speaking as the user behind another top defensive tackle Phat was immediately the goal and despite my coming in well behind him he has been very chill in all of our interactions. Love his attitude, loved both of his podcasts, and just love this dude in general. How can you not love a dude named Phat Boi? Admittedly the poorest user in the top five by approximate value, but I trust in his podcast potential that he will be able to keep up his pace of max earning through the National Simulation Football League.
User: iStegosauruz
Player: Colt Mendoza
Position: Cornerback
Approximate Value: 264 (5th Overall and 1st among Cornerbacks)
TPE: 200 (Tied for 32nd Overall and 7th among Cornerbacks)
Bank: $64,371,800 (3rd Overall and 1st among Cornerbacks)
Profile: iStegosauruz is another friendly face and I think there is no doubt by anyone that they are the best analyst in the draft. They have probably run more sims with the system than the rest of the draft class combined at this point. Excluding recreates at least as I know there are a few general managers and former general managers in the class. That said there is a reason why so many mock drafts have Colt Mendoza going first overall and it is wholly because of how incredible iStegosauruz has been in their analysis. Just look at their bank account and you can see the money they have made from media and a lot of that is from bonuses that I have handed out because of how impressive their work has been. Genuinely a top tier talent and the fact that it is all wrapped up in a good locker room presence is just all the better.
User: Memento Mori
Player: Brandon Booker
Position: Cornerback
Approximate Value: 259 (6th Overall and 2nd among Cornerbacks)
TPE: 218 (7th Overall and 1st among Cornerbacks)
Bank: $41,498,355 (5th Overall and 2nd among Cornerbacks)
Profile: Memento Mori is someone I would say I know rather well as they are a coworker of mine who I have interacted with a decent amount. A friendly fellow with a talent both for media making and media grading. Genuinely love the interview series they have put out over the course of the season. Been lovely in all of our interactions, clearly been a hard worker given they have more TPE than Magnus and their bank account is in the top five, and honestly the content they have put out has been good. Zero complaints to be had and so Brandon Booker should be a top ten pick, and if not I would only guess it is because of the depth of the cornerback class.
User: Yonggarius
Player: William Lim
Position: Wide Receiver
Approximate Value: 251 (7th Overall and 1st among Wide Receivers)
TPE: 216 (Tied for 9th Overall, and 1st among Wide Receivers)
Bank: $35,093,015 (6th Overall and 1st among Wide Receivers)
Profile: I do not believe that Yonggarius and I have had a direct interaction in our respective times in the league, but based on all the conversations had around each other they seem super nice. Been putting out some super solid media and I really loved the background piece they did on their player William Lim a while back. Holds the triple crown at the wide receiver position so given what I have seen of receiver needs in the league I expect them to be off the board early.
User: Cho1325
Player: James Cho
Position: Defensive End
Approximate Value: 247 (8th Overall and 2nd among Defensive Ends)
TPE: 217 (8th Overall and 2nd among Defensive Ends)
Bank: $29,935,970 (11th Overall and 3rd among Defensive Ends)
Profile: I unfortunately do not have any interactions with Cho1325 that I can recall. Their player is one that I remember because he played defensive end for the University of Washington which is also where my player Magnus Rikiya played in college, and since they are both defensive linemen it stuck in my mind. (There are a couple of other Huskies in this draft class that I am aware of right now, and full disclosure I will always have a soft spot for them. Readily admit that I am biased in that regard.) That said I have seen several of the media pieces that have put them eleventh overall in bank and I can say they seem like a cool person. Also follow them on twitter where they have also been nice.
User: Sakrosankt
Player: Michael Witheblock
Position: Wide Receiver
Approximate Value: 246 (9th Overall and 2nd among Wide Receivers)
TPE: 214 (Tied for 15th Overall and 3rd among Wide Receivers)
Bank: $31,879,275 (10th Overall and 2nd among Wide Receivers)
Profile: Sakrosankt and I were actually involved in a nice conversation the other day where everyone discussed user name origins. Quite the cool person in my experience and also helped someone out with a link! Always nice to see! Top three in all categories for a wide receiver, and top fourteen in all categories period means they should be a high target regardless. That said I am happy that everyone I have reviewed thus far has been nice. Top tier talent and pleasant personalities go together well in my opinion.
User: S4ndr0p
Player: Sandro Ryeu
Position: Defensive End
Approximate Value: 244 (10th Overall and 3rd among Defensive Ends)
TPE: 211 (22nd Overall and 3rd among Defensive Ends)
Bank: $33,013,985 (8th Overall and 2nd among Defensive Ends)
Profile: S4ndr0p is as nice as their name is hard to spell in my experience. Genuinely their player is one of three defensive ends that got an elite grade from me before the draft and I really liked their media output. They have kept up that level of production since sign up and as shown by being top ten in the bank you can trust their media production. Super chill in all of the interactions I have seen by them and they have a great picture on the forum which is a plus.
User: Retrospace111
Player: Zamir Kehla
Position: Cornerback
Approximate Value: 242 (11th Overall and 3rd among Cornerbacks)
TPE: 213 (17th Overall and 3rd among Cornerbacks)
Bank: $29,185,080 (12th Overall and 4th among Cornerbacks)
Profile: Honestly I am sure that anyone that would take the time to read this already knows Zamir, and probably already has an opinion about Zamir given his activity on Discord. What I can say that others have not is that I have heard positive reviews of his behavior in the locker room from at least a couple of sources. Also never had a problem with him in our handful of direct interactions if I am honest. Personally I can say I am not a huge fan of the loudmouth corner persona, however it has clearly kept them entertained as they have ridden it to be top twenty in all three categories. While several mock drafts have seen them fall for the reason of their nature I do not expect them to fall that far as that passion for the league is one that will appeal to all the teams.
User: QuirkyTurtle
Player: Eddie Jeeta
Position: Wide Receiver
Approximate Value: 241 (12th Overall and 3rd among Wide Receivers)
TPE: 215 (Tied for 12th Overall and 2nd among Wide Receivers)
Bank: $25,907,925 (15th Overall and 3rd among Wide Receivers)
Profile: QuirkyTurtle! One of the first members of S22 that I can remember interacting with in the league and easily one of my favorite users overall. Super nice person who comforted me when I was worried about what would happen before the DSFL draft, and they have been just as nice in every meeting I can recall us having since then. Cool person who has been fairly active on Discord and uses a neat Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle profile picture there.
User: Siddhus
Player: Jim Waters
Position: Quarterback
Approximate Value: 240 (13th Overall and 1st among Quarterbacks)
TPE: 207 (Tied for 24th Overall and 1st among Quarterbacks)
Bank: $32,618,853 (9th Overall and 1st among Quarterbacks)
Profile: My one exception to the no recreate rule and understandably a triple crown holder by virtue of it. Admittedly there are only three quarterbacks who are not recreates who made my minimum TPE cutoff, and I can speak quite kindly about all three. SiddhuS is a recreate and I believe all of the general managers are well acquainted with him in terms of his public activities at this point. I know at one point he was a favorite of the S22 class as he approved a huge number of wiki pages for all of us, and he holds a place in my heart in part because of that as he was kind enough to approve my page for Magnus.
I will readily confess that him holding the triple crown might feel a little unfair as he is only competing with brand new quarterbacks, but I just checked and he does appear to hold it for all quarterbacks outside of the Jack brothers. Since their landing spots are predetermined I can comfortably say that Siddhus' Jim Waters is the best available quarterback at this time.
Genuinely been a quite nice fellow in all of my interactions with him and so I do think the team that gets him will be happy with the end results.
User: Colabear
Player: Johnny Hellzapoppin
Position: Safety
Approximate Value: 239 (Tied for 14th Overall and 1st among Safeties)
TPE: 215 (Tied for 12th Overall and 2nd among Safeties)
Bank: $24,301,010 (18th Overall and 3rd among Safeties)
Profile: I had to do some double checking, but Colabear and I had a lovely conversation about sleep before the draft. They were offering some recommendations based on the sorry sleep schedules of a few members of the league who shall not be named. Beyond that I think we have only had a couple of conversations, but as they have been nice in all of them I believe that Colabear's Johnny Hellzapoppin will do well in any of the locker rooms that I have encountered.
User: Mithrandir
Player: Andrew Witten
Position: Cornerback
Approximate Value: 239 (Tied for 14th Overall and 4th among Cornerbacks)
TPE: 205 (Tied for 27th Overall and 4th among Cornerbacks)
Bank: $34,458,395 (7th Overall and 3rd Among Cornerbacks)
Profile: Just want to point out here how stacked the cornerback class is with four first round grades. Genuinely not a lot of interaction between Mithrandir and I, and the first time that I said their name in Discord was apparently just today when I complimented them on their idea for a unique mock draft. That mock draft might have fallen apart or might already be posted, but I sincerely hope that it went well. While I have not directly interacted with Mithrandir much I have seen a fair bit of their media as a grader and I can say they did a nice guide to the NSFL teams that I remember well. Should take to the NSFL well and be a valuable asset for a team.
User: Skyline
Player: Acura Skyline
Position: Running Back
Approximate Value: 235 (16th Overall and 1st among Running Backs)
TPE: 219 (Tied for 5th Overall and tied for 1st among Running Backs)
Bank: $15,857,160 (31st Overall and 3rd among Running Backs)
Profile: Genuinely not sure that I have seen Skyline on Discord at all, but I do recall their amusing media production throughout the course of the season. Some very entertaining media pieces is all that I have to associate with this user, although I know their player is in the running for MVP based on overall statistics. DSFL stats mean nothing for the NSFL draft though so that does not mean as much. Still congratulations to them for being in the running for that!
User: J0EB
Player: Matt 'Son of Havoc' Cross
Position: Safety
Approximate Value: 234 (Tied for 17th Overall and tied for 2nd among Safeties)
TPE: 220 (4th Overall and 1st among Safeties)
Bank: $13,792,500 (34th Overall and 8th among Safeties)
Profile: My boy J0EB! I love J0EB dearly as a member of the Norfolk locker room I could easily sing his praises for an entire hour and it is entirely possible that I would if I had a decent singing voice. Always around the locker room it seems and always has a kind word for his teammates. Cutest picture of a chubby Squirtle as his profile picture right now. Genuinely a top five in terms of x-factor for me as J0EB has just been an absolute dear in the Norfolk locker room and I wholeheartedly believe any and every team would be lucky to have him. To recap a first round talent player, a lovely locker room presence, and if that does not persuade you then just look at that sweet name. Who would not want the 'Son of Havoc' on their team?
Honestly though J0EB has been an absolute joy to have in the locker room and I have also enjoyed his presence in conversations in other NSFL Discords. Whether it be talking about manga, favorite movies, or what kind of music Superman likes he has always been a good conversational partner. Just a fantastic locker room presence all wrapped up in arguably the best safety of the draft. I hope we can be teammates again at the next level, but I just sincerely wish him the best regardless of where he goes. I know Matt 'Son of Havoc' Cross will be a superstar anywhere in the league.
User: Forty Jordy
Player: Deshun Jones
Position: Defensive Tackle
Approximate Value: 234 (Tied for 17th Overall and 3rd among Defensive Tackles)
TPE: 212 (Tied for 18th Overall and 4th among Defensive Tackles)
Bank: $22,023,155 (23rd Overall and 2nd among Defensive Tackles)
Profile: Forty Jordy is good people in my experience and with great comedic timing. Been fun to talk to over our share of conversations, and responded to one of my earlier articles about scouting where I gave Deshun Jones an elite grade! Great energy and a super nice person in my experience. They have also done some more in depth work that I think will be an appeal as a potential war room member which is a trait that I am well aware is a plus in most books.
User: Isidore94
Player: Quinn Hughes
Position: Safety
Approximate Value: 234 (Tied for 17th Overall and tied for 2nd among Safeties)
TPE: 209 (23rd Overall and 4th among Safeties)
Bank: $24,721,860 (17th Overall and 2nd among Safeties)
Profile: Seeing Isidore94's bank account really puts into perspective how hard it can be to earn money in this league as they have done a consistent power ranking for the DSFL and NSFL that were both good. Seem like a cool person from my handful of interactions with them, and I remember saying so to them before I started safety scouting and that I looked forward to scouting Quinn Hughes for that reason. They were the first to get an elite grade from me at the safety spot and have clearly kept it up over the course of the season with a solid two hundred plus TPE and twenty plus million in the bank.
User: FurFurFurson
Player: Buck Thornton
Position: Safety
Approximate Value: 233 (Tied for 20th Overall and 4th among Safeties)
TPE: 214 (Tied for 15th Overall and 3rd among Safeties)
Bank: $19,169,765 (26th Overall and 5th among Safeties)
Profile: FurFurFurson is awesome in my experience. I think we have only had a few interactions, but they reached out to me after I did my safety scouting asking if I had a twitter they could link as they wanted to tweet about it. How nice is that? Not seen a bad word said about them and they have clearly put in the effort given their high overall ratings despite being in this super deep class. Wrote some wonderful media since sign up including a cool three person piece with Revuhlution and RussDrivesTheBus.
User: qWest
Player: Tatsu Nakamura
Position: Running Back
Approximate Value: 233 (Tied for 20th Overall and 2nd among Running Backs)
TPE: 212 (Tied for 18th Overall and 3rd among Running Backs)
Bank: $21,152,520 (25th Overall and 2nd among Running Backs)
Profile: qWest pronounced like quest is another user that I am aware of in part because their player is a University of Washington alum. I said earlier that I am biased. That said I have enjoyed everything that I have seen that qWest has produced and not just because we are warlock buddies. Although having gotten to enjoy a nice conversation with them about Dungeons and Dragons did definitely improve my already positive opinion of them. Good character articles and good graphics have allowed them to earn the second largest bank of non-recreate running backs.
User: Howsour
Player: Kichwa Jones
Position: Running Back
Approximate Value: 229 (22nd Overall and 3rd among Running Backs)
TPE: 219 (Tied for 5th Overall and tied for 1st among Running Backs)
Bank: $10,264,060 (43rd Overall and 4th among Running Backs)
Profile: Not active in the general Discords from what I can see, but a player that I do recognize from their profile picture on the forum! They wrote a really good article analyzing the S22 running backs drafted to the DSFL, another article about potential expansion cities that was fun, and just a few days ago wrote an article analyzing all of the S22 running backs again. Not the richest player overall, but over ten million in the bank is definitely worthwhile. That and their media production does suggest they could make a push in that regard if necessary.
User: Billybolo53
Player: Cuco Clemente (The player formerly known as Octavio Clemente)
Position: Defensive Tackle
Approximate Value: 227 (Tied for 23rd Overall and 4th among Defensive Tackles)
TPE: 216 (Tied for 9th overall, and tied for 2nd among Defensive Tackles)
Bank: $11,158,165 (39th Overall and 4th among Defensive Tackles)
Profile: Billybolo53 is a user that I have interacted with a decent amount on both the forums and the Discords. Honestly I feel like all the defensive tackles are a bit closer for me overall than the other positions, although I do not know if other defensive tackles feel that way, or whether or not it is similar for other positions. Massive media output and with a fun twist of a reporter character that is rarer than I would expect speaking as a grader. There is some quality stuff in there as well, although they are self described as the king of the fluff piece. Does not like to be underestimated, but I can respect that mentality as someone who is similar to a degree. Been golden in all of my interactions with them and I look forward to reading more of their media work.
User: Tractorcito_grande
Player: Cadillac Harris
Position: Cornerback
Approximate Value: 227 (Tied for 23rd Overall and 5th among Cornerbacks)
TPE: 198 (Tied for 36th Overall and 8th among Cornerbacks)
Bank: $28,527,060 (13th Overall and 5th among Cornerbacks)
Profile: First off I have to say the cornerback class in this draft is rich both in prospects and in just general cash. That said Tractorcito_grande also known as Warner on the Discords is a person that I have a fair amount of interaction with I would say. I would say that we get along fairly well outside of a disagreement about ice cream. Self proclaimed best cornerback in this draft class and if I understand correctly their aim is to be the best player period when it comes to S22. A lot of stiff competition for that and some of whom who have an early lead, but I wish Tractorcito_grande the best of luck as they work towards greatness.
User: Feeler
Player: Heath Evans
Position: Tight End
Approximate Value: 225 (25th Overall and 1st among Tight Ends)
TPE: 212 (Tied for 18th Overall and 1st among Tight Ends)
Bank: $12,804,745 (37th Overall and 3rd among Tight Ends)
Profile: Feeler is a feel good story in my opinion as I was doing a draft recap series where I mentioned that we had not interacted much, but gave props to them and their player for having put in so much work. Well Feeler read that and decided that next time they saw me in the Discords that they would say hi! How charming is that! Genuinely made my day and for that alone I think Feeler deserves consideration even before taking into account that they are the highest ranked tight end. The tightest of ends if you will. Genuinely I have paid almost zero attention to team needs though so I do not know if any teams need a tight end right now, but I hope one does for Feeler's sake and that they treat them nicely because they deserve it.
User: Revuhlution
Player: Chester Sweets
Position: Cornerback
Approximate Value: 223 (26th Overall and 6th among Cornerbacks)
TPE: 202 (29th Overall and 5th among Cornerbacks)
Bank: $21,345,340 (24th Overall and 6th among Cornerbacks)
Profile: Chester Sweets! One of the three amigos that is a group that I am not sure still exists! That said Revuhlution has put out some good podcasts and was even willing to answer my strange questions on one of them. We also had a lovely conversation before one of their earlier ones before the DSFL season had been announced. Been super sweet in all of my interactions with them and should be a solid selection for whichever teams takes them on.
User: NicholasTheGreat
Player: Bruce Buckley
Position: Offensive Line
Approximate Value: 222 (Tied for 27th Overall and 1st among Offensive Line)
TPE: 207 (Tied for 24th Overall and 1st among Offensive Line)
Bank: $14,602,035 (32nd Overall and 1st among Offensive Line)
Profile: Just before writing this I actually had a lovely conversation with NicholasTheGreat about my unique Discord style and they asked if they could write a fun story about me for an article. Not sure if anything will actually come of that, but I thought that it was super swell of them to ask! I said in my draft recap that it was one of their pieces that kind of kick started my own media production if I am honest, and so I give them some special props for that alone. They have also been delightful in all of my interactions with them so I am thrilled to suggest they go early in the draft. My player is a defensive tackle and so I have a strong respect for line of scrimmage players, and as has been said we shall fight in the trenches. Respect your line of scrimmage players folks and especially when they have a triple crown.
User: Thiath
Player: Eric Barlow
Position: Safety
Approximate Value: 222 (Tied for 27th Overall and 5th among Safeties)
TPE: 196 (Tied for 38th Overall and 7th among Safeties)
Bank: $25,829,030 (16th Overall and 1st among Safeties)
Profile: King of the Mock Draft! Also possibly a clairvoyant based on everything that I have discussed with them thus far. A big Brooklyn fan and a friendly face in my honest opinion. Genuinely deserving of the title of King of the Mock Draft as well based on a few accurate assessments that they have had thus far, and also just because I like the way they write them in general. Also stood up for Weedle which gets them some bonus points in my book. Made a strong expansion bid and I expect them to be the type to contribute to a war room to pick up experience to try again down the road. Best of luck to your Brooklyn bid.
User: RansackTheUniverse
Player: Eldrick Avery
Position: Cornerback
Approximate Value: 220 (29th Overall and 7th among Cornerbacks)
TPE: 215 (Tied for 12th Overall and 2nd among Cornerbacks)
Bank: $5,074,900 (54th Overall and 8th among Cornerbacks)
Profile: I admit to not really knowing this person as I was not able to find them on the Discords and I do not remember having interacted with them. They have put out some good media though and their high TPE total does suggest a drive for the league that is deserving of high consideration. Also the fact they have some money left in the bank account shows they created media, and of what I saw of it was solid quality.
User: Thevoicelesscreator
Player: Mo "Mamba" Magic
Position: Defensive Tackle
Approximate Value: 219 (Tied for 30th Overall and 5th among Defensive Tackles)
TPE: 201 (Tied for 30th Overall and 5th among Defensive Tackles)
Bank: $17,689,673 (29th Overall and 3rd among Defensive Tackles)
Profile: I will admit I kind of hoped the bank would make a triple crown at 5th overall, but I should have known by how much media Thevoicelesscreator has put out that it would not be the case. Been super sweet in all of our interactions and just a cool person to talk to in my experience. Had a great conversation about user names and then about so many other topics. Shout out here to Honolulu who put up with us dominating their Discord for a few hours. Really enjoyable conversation and I wish nothing but the best for Thevoicelesscreator in this draft process.
User: Lightnoir
Player: Wesley Eriksen
Position: Safety
Approximate Value: 219 (Tied for 30th Overall and 6th among Safeties)
TPE: 200 (Tied for 32nd Overall and 5th among Safeties)
Bank: $19,009,718 (27th Overall and 6th among Safeties)
Profile: Before I forget Lightnoir knows about Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and about Geno so props for that. The other half of the best safety duo in the DSFL and honestly I could probably repeat most of what I said about J0EB here and it would be accurate. Lightnoir has been a fantastic member of the Norfolk locker room and I love him just as dearly as my boy J0EB. Will also say that he is one of the best comedians in the league in my not at all humble opinion as his La Quinta still sends me into giggle fits well removed from the initial situation.
Lightnoir has been mocked hither and yon so I have no idea where it is that he ends up if I am honest. Would love to be on a team with him just the same as I would love to still be on a team with J0EB, but unfortunately short of Norfolk forcibly making itself an NSFL expansion team that does not appear to be in the cards. So I will say that I sincerely hope all of the lovely friends I have made in the Norfolk locker room do not forget me when they move on to bigger and better things in the NSFL. Also somewhat strangely been mocked to Yellowknife a bunch, however based on my knowledge it would be a good fit. Also Wesley Eriksen would do well as the second most handsome Canadian in my opinion.
I originally hoped to do more, but my overzealous nature has collided with the fact that I am approaching forty hours of up time on my fragile form. That said I will shout out everybody whose name I immediately recognize from my remaining board to say they are cool and that teams should treat them nicely. FuriousPanda, CalvinGolladay, RussDrivesTheBus, Highhaschdi, Matty7478, 2Burkeulosis, Indonesianhusker, Shiznit19, SwankyPants31, Muse316, tMuse, Jpach, Blasoon, Ismael8907, Coterminity, Ayyylmao, and TheRocheLimit. Sorry I did not get to your profiles friends. The mind is willing but the body is honestly possibly detaching from the mind based on current reports. If I ascend my fragile form please honor me by drafting Magnus in the first round, thank you.
Now for part two of the Agent Tesla Designs A Draft! I have talked up the top thirty prospects and now to talk up the top thirty teams. Luckily there are not that many teams so this will be much easier by comparison. Just going to dive right in to saying why you as a prospect should want to go to any of these teams. Just going to go alphabetically for the sake of convenience and to avoid accusations of bias in that regard. Totally biased in other regards though and I admit these 100% are my own opinions on things.
Arizona Outlaws
Well first off who does not want to be an outlaw? Genuinely though this is a team that I interacted with a decent amount during the scouting processes and based on everything I would say they seem to be in quite capable hands. Unicorn was lovely, but made sure to ask good questions for the sake of the team. Also was quite polite with some of the stranger answers that I provided to questions I would say. Combined with the sheer number of picks they have and I believe they are going to be a force to be reckoned with in very short order. Genuinely if you are a top tier talent odds are you go to them by virtue of the number of top hundred selections they have, but given you will be surrounded by such talent you should be thrilled to be going here.
Austin Copperheads
I have spent a lot of time in the Austin Copperheads locker room and had a number of lovely experiences there thanks to the rookie parties that they have had leading up to the draft. Been treated well by every member of the team that I have interacted with thus far, and just generally had a really positive experience. All of that would be reason enough for me to say that you should be happy if you end up in Austin. However I am going to go a step beyond here as the current general manager of the team is JKortesi81 who is also my boss in the media department. One of the most charming men I have met in the league and also one of the people I most trust to fight for the people on his team. Any rookie should be thrilled getting to go to quite possibly the party capital of the NSFL teams based on my experiences there, but having a leader like JKortesi81 is an absolute luxury on top of the sundae that should make it a top tier destination for anyone.
Baltimore Hawks
Full disclosure here is that I have interacted with both general managers of the Baltimore Hawks, but I only knew one was a general manager when I was interacting with them. Duilio05 was immensely respectful when doing scouting work on me and was a picture perfect professional I would say. Great experience overall in that regard alone and I would trust the team to be on the right path based on how they handled themselves. I did not realize that Huskies311 was the other general manager of this team and they have been five stars in all of my interactions with them that I can recall. The fact I never even realized they were a general manager speaks volumes to me about the type of person that they are and I feel that any rookie should be happy for the opportunity to play for them.
Chicago Butchers
Not going to sugar coat it we all know the situation that Chicago is in right now. Bayley has made several statements saying they know quite well the situation that they have found themselves in as a general manager with Muford. Not sure if Muford is just quieter than Bayley or not, but I do know that I have had enough interaction with the two of them to trust that they know what they signed up for in taking the reins there, but also that they know what they need to do to set things right there. I will admit Bayley's anti-weedle stance soured me on them a bit, however Muford being pro-weedle makes up for it well enough. One thing I have heard from both of them is that they only want people who want to be there and that is the ideal mentality to have in this situation I believe.
You might wonder then why a rookie should want to be there. Passion and potential glory. Nobody takes on a task like this for nothing and based on all of what I have seen Bayley and Muford have the drive to get this right that is absolutely necessary to successfully do so. How impressive would it be to say that you helped in that process as a rookie? Obviously they are not going to win the Ultimus year one, however I do think they could turn things around faster than expected if they can get some of the right people in the door. It will take a special kind of player to help out here, however by doing so you prove yourself to be that kind of special player. Something none of the other teams can really offer at this time. So if you know you can handle it be sure to let them know.
Colorado Yeti
Going to be brutally honest here and not going to be concerned with any hurt feelings by me saying this. The Yeti have the best mascot in the NSFL Now that I got that off my chest I can say that they also have one of the best general managers in the league in the form of well known and beloved rookie mentor Woelkers. When being scouted for the Yeti I had an immensely productive conversation with Woelkers as I mentioned that a friend had recommended them should I need any advice building up my defensive tackle Magnus Rikiya as that friend trusts Woelkers with their life. Woelkers talked to me about the archetypes, how they settled on the archetype that they did, and some more just general stuff about the sim even after the scouting conversation was over. One could argue that of course he helped he is not only a rookie mentor, but the head rookie mentor; still someone who goes that far for a person who is not on their team is someone I trust to go that much farther for someone on their team. That is why you should be thrilled if you end up in Colorado. Plus best mascot is also a bonus.
Honolulu Hahalua
Cyndaquil and Raven! I promised them that I would lavish praise on their operation and that is indeed what I am here to do in this moment. They admittedly have an advantage from my perspective in this regard as they are the only team where I have a good amount of interaction with both general managers. Their locker room is open for the moment at the least and they were kind enough to invite me into it after I missed the initial invitation that was posted on the Discords. It has been a wonderfully welcoming place in my experience and there are routing good morning and good night messages that make it feel almost familial.
Cyndaquil also known as ADwyer87 has been lovely in my interactions with them even though I called them by a nickname pretty much on first meeting and have continued to use it ever since. One thing I especially want to point out is when I first went into the locker room I complimented the online general manager on the tidiness of the server and they immediately handed credit to the other general manager. So when the other general manager came online I complimented them and they immediately handed credit to the other general manager. This happened a couple more times when I attempted to compliment them on something they were always quick to give credit to their partner. A great mentality to have as leaders of a team.
The other big thing that I have noticed is they seem genuinely caring towards each of the prospects that have spent a significant amount of time there. Genuinely reminds me of Norfolk and I have absolutely loved my time in the Norfolk locker room. They also have a unique advantage of clashing schedules for the sake of the locker room as there always seems to be someone around to talk to which is especially appealing to me given my sleep schedule is essentially nonexistent. What makes it especially good though is that they have genuinely had fun weird conversations at all hours and so not only is someone around to chat with at most hours, but they also have chats about just about any given subject matter. I mention that a little in one of the above people profiles, however I have to say I really appreciate their respect for silliness.
New Orleans Second Line
Genuinely do I even need to sell this team between Thiath's survey showing 30% of respondents wanted to go here and the fact that they just won an Ultimus? They also according to that same survey have the user who has made the most enjoyable experiences for their fellow users on the team in the form of the lovely Bex. Well since my lack of a need for sleep still has not impacted my functionality I will do what I can to sell you based on what I know about the team today. TomHanks based off of Tom Hanks the nicest man in Hollywood and I dare say TomHanks is better than the Tom Hanks in that regard. Been an absolute dear in all of our interactions although unsurprisingly as like Woelkers they are a rookie mentor. IsaStarcrossed is another rookie mentor slash general manager and I wholeheartedly expect them to fulfill both roles superbly well as they have handled everything well in the time that I have known them. Still do not think I need to lavish this team with praise since they just won an Ultimus, but you can see by the kind of people they have that this is a top tier team that should be a luxurious landing spot for any rookies they pick up.
Orange County Otters
They might not have won the Ultimus this season, but anyone who knows the history of the league probably does not need to be sold on wanting to go here if I am honest. Do not think I have interacted with either of their general managers that I can recall, but the scout they sent after me was quite a lovely person to interact with for the duration of the scouting meeting. Now for those of you who do not know much about the history of the league the Otters are The Dynasty of the league. Their worst season was season ten when they went 7-7 and still made the playoffs. Twenty-one consecutive seasons at or above .500 and each one with a playoff appearance to match. Also have twice as many Ultimus wins as the next highest team the Outlaws. So genuinely if you want to have success in the sim you should definitely be happy if you end up here as they have proven since day one that they are the team to beat.
Philadelphia Liberty
Speaking solely of the standard scouting process I would say Philadelphia Liberty clock in at second overall for me and I am immensely grateful to their scout for all the help they provided me in other endeavors as well. I know a fair number of people in the Liberty from my understanding, but one I really want to shout out is the current CoGM of Norfolk Juni who is just an absolute dear and one of my favorite people in the league. My interaction with their general managers has been minimal in my experience, but I have zero complaints from any of those interactions in all honesty. Genuinely just based on the overall knowledge of the team that I have I get an image of a top tier team in the making. Just for the opportunity to hang out with Juni I would rate them a top tier landing spot honestly, but with all of the other cool people I know on the team they climb higher than that.
San Jose Sabercats
Honestly San Jose were the last team to scout me during this process if memory serves, but they were quite nice when they got around to me! I do know one of their general managers from my understanding as we had a conversation at one point as rookies where I complimented their profile picture on Discord. Outside of those two I honestly do not know if I know anyone on the Sabercats, but that does not mean I cannot heap some praise on them. They won more games this season than last season and have clearly built for the future with their up and coming quarterback. Another benefit they have going into this upcoming draft is they are one of just three teams to have double digit picks in the first eight rounds of the draft. Since this is the best draft class of all time that means just like Arizona they are poised to make a splash this time around and gear up for a good run. That combined with the niceness of all my interactions with them leads me to believe they will be a good landing spot for any S22 member who lands there.
Sarasota Sailfish
There is probably at least one DSFL team that I do not have to make a sales pitch to on behalf of the Sarasota Sailfish, but for the rest of them I can say the general managers seem highly active and motivated in my experience. RainDelay is someone who I spotted all over the place back when I scouted the S22 defensive class before the DSFL draft as they always seemed to comment on the forum to greet new members. They were also really nice when they scouted me for Myrtle Beach before the DSFL draft. Frost meanwhile seems more active on the Discord by comparison and I have seen them around most of the time I would say. Even joined in on some Jackbox games that I participated in and that was fun in my opinion.
Frost has proven successful as one half of a general manager pair at the DSFL level at the very least given the Ultimini this season, and also proved they believed in their team as they had a bet on both games. Given all this I expect most of S22 have experience with at least one of these general managers and know how they would feel to end up on this team. The fact they have that sign of success though, still have eight picks in the first eight rounds, and have good knowledge on this draft class makes it easy to say they will be a solid landing spot for S22.
Yellowknife Wraiths
A record tying four consecutive Ultimus appearances over the course of the last four seasons should be enough to make Yellowknife appeal to any member of S22. They have their quarterback of the future on the way up as well in the form of the one member of S22 with more money than me. Coming into this they are well established and they have shown the plans to build for the long term beyond this. All of this is enough to make this team appealing, however they have a not so secret weapon that jumps this team up to a top tier landing spot for all of S22. BaconBrother/Murtsi one of the loveliest people in the league and one of my coworkers in the media department. The overall confidence I have in the team is good, but any team with such a prominently pleasant person as BaconBrother/Murtsi is definitely even better!
Summary
Scouting and praise handed out to the top thirty prospects by approximate value. Hype heaped upon every NSFL team based on my admittedly somewhat limited knowledge of them. In conclusion lots of lovely people in this draft for the teams to pick up and prepare to be elite players at the NSFL level for a long time. Also lots of terrific teams to do that draft work that every player should be thrilled to go to regardless of circumstances. Not saying it is wrong to have preferences of course, but put your best foot forward and give the teams a chance and I believe they will impress you!
Honestly if you read through any of this sleep deprived rambling I want to thank you very much for taking the time to do so and I want you to know that I sincerely wish you a wonderful weekend. Thank you all for your time and I will see you next time I make a media piece!
