Well, here we go. I'm getting started on this a bit early because I feel it's necessary due to being kind of busy tomorrow. With that in mind...standard disclaimers. I'm going to put at the front when I started getting all the data because I cannot update after that, obviously. I'm only ranking people in the prospect pool, so the waiver people are not graded unless they sneak back into that. Sorry Goat Tank. Prospects are in order from oldest created to newest created inside of that prospect pool.
(Started DE Prospect Data collected at 8:30 PM Friday)
Lots of DEs, lots of terrible puns, one good pun, here we go.
Troy Watson (Previously the 15th best DE prospect, low pick)
I had Watson rated really lowly last time due to lacking strength, speed, and endurance which are all crucial for a defensive end. Since then he has gained 7 TPE and upped his speed to 68.
Vick Vinegar (Previously the 13th best DE prospect, Mr Irrelevant Candidate)
Really starting out with your best foot forward, DEs. I've heard there are some really good ones in this class, but they're certainly not the oldest created.
Brick Van Sanzo (Previously the 11th best DE prospect, OK prospect)
Sanzo's earned a decent sum of 24 TPE, and has put it into good stats, upping speed to a decent 75 and endurance to 62. He needs to earn more to move up the list, however.
Crozier McCoy (Previously the 5th best DE prospect, low pick)
It's a shame, I really liked his media story. However, right now he has 7 TPE, all of it banked. These first 4 are probably not the "4 horsemen" I've been hearing about.
Saximus Daddy (Previously the 12th best DE prospect, Mr Irrelevant Candidate)
I hate his name so very much. Thankfully if he doesn't make an update page, I probably won't have to think about it very much.
Abdul Jabbar Abid (Previously the 9th best DE prospect, low pick)
On the contrary, I like this name but unfortunately he's only gained 7 TPE and used it to up Endurance. This DE class is so very much the opposite of the OL class it's to the point of hilarity.
Sam Roes (Previously the 8th best DE prospect, low pick)
9 TPE. Used it to upgrade speed to 70, which is nice...but seriously we're halfway through the class and the average TPE is less than 8.
Bobby Hoffman (Previously the 6th best DE prospect, OK prospect)
Well, Bobby, you've done it. You're the second guy with more than 10 TPE of this group. He has 24 TPE, all of it banked. By default that makes him probably the best prospect I've ranked so far.
Albert Ruschmann (Previously the best DE prospect, Great prospect)
Albert Ruschmann is the first truly great defensive prospect I've gone over. With 59 TPE, he ranks up with the very highest non waiver wire players. He will almost certainly get a high draft pick, partly because as I have seen already, there's a lot of chaff in this DE class. He has not applied any of it yet, however.
Hank Sakner (Previously the 7th best DE prospect, low pick)
This is a slightly weird low pick ranking from me. Sakner according to his update sheet has gained 17 TPE, but applied none of it, and it just says he has 7 TPE awaiting approval. Due to that and to not having spent any of it, I'm giving him this rank.
Henry Grant (Previously the 2nd best DE prospect, OK prospect)
17 TPE, 2 of which is banked. Upped speed to 72 and tackling to 60, which apparently isn't as great of a stat as it sounds like it would be. That being said, 17 TPE is more than most of this class.
Raylan Crowder (Previously the 14th best DE prospect, Great prospect)
We have our second Horseman! With 59 TPE gained and a blistering 78 speed, he is the fastest DE of the class as far as I can tell. He did put some points into the apparently not so helpful Tackling, but this is still tied for the most TPE of any prospect at this position.
Owen Isaac (Previously the 4th best DE prospect, Good prospect)
As best as I can tell, he's gained 32 TPE and has stored most of it, only upping strength and endurance by 1 each.
Jeffery Jefferson (Previously the 3rd best DE prospect, Mr Irrelevant candidate)
No update page. I'm guessing some of the 4 horsemen are in a different position?
Jake Sackson (Previously the 10th best DE prospect, Mr Irrelevant candidate)
No update page, despite being a recreate and a former GM. Or perhaps because of it. Man, the DEs are REALLY feast or famine here. I gave out 2 great prospect ratings, and they are too close to call one a definitive best, one Good Prospect rating, and 3 OK prospect ratings. There are 15 Defensive Ends. 9 of them have less than 10 TPE gained.
Well, after a good night's sleep, time to tackle the next group.
(Started DT prospect data collection at 9:40 AM Saturday)
Similar position, but much, much less stupid puns. Also hopefully a greater percentage of people with more than 10 TPE, because 60% is going to be hard to top there.
Hunter Mantis (Previously the 3rd best DT prospect, Mr Irrelevant candidate)
No update page. Also can't tell whether it's referencing Hunter something, Something Mantis, or some hunter mantis thing I don't know about.
Vance Slattery (Previously the 8th best DT prospect, Great prospect)
OK, so we won't have more than half the class go before the first guy with more than 24 TPE this time. Slattery has 49 TPE, and has moved his molasses 50 speed up to 62, and has boosted his strength to 75. I think time will tell whether his poor build at the start makes him a worse prospect than the others around this amount of TPE, but as is, almost 50 is a good sign.
Booker Bookchin (Previously the 2nd best DT prospect, low pick)
Only 7 TPE, none of it used on anything. What you'll see in the prospect bowl might just be what you get here. Except that I think he's retiring.
Bonifacius Van den Huevel (Previously the 6th best DT prospect, low pick)
See Bookchin, Booker. Except without a media post saying he received a career ending injury.
Honky Tonk Haywood (Previously the 5th best DT prospect, Good prospect)
With 39 TPE, Haywood has a great start on things. He also boosted his speed up to 70, so considering that Slattery only has 62, an 8 point speed advantage is probably more important than a 5 point strength advantage. With that in mind, I think Haywood's the better prospect despite earning 10 less TPE, which is why he's rated Good to Slattery's Great.
Angelo Cerilli (Previously the 9th best DT prospect, Great prospect)
I did not like Cerilli's stat distribution last time, and it technically hasn't changed a bit. However, he now has 49 TPE banked to spend and hopefully improve his woeful 60 strength and 50 speed. It puts him right below Slattery in my mind.
Sheed Thebaw (Previously the 4th best DT prospect, Best DT prospect)
Here's the good stuff. I have been informed that the 4 Horsemen are not all DEs, and that Ruschmann is actually not a horseman. With that in mind, here's the second horseman. 51 TPE gained so far is good. 70 strength and 71 speed is even better. Again, surprised at how useless tackling is as a stat, but apparently it is.
J. J. J. Shabadoo (Previously the best DT prospect, low pick)
2 TPE gained, literally one activity check and that's it. This position really runs hot and cold.
LeDavious "Dave" Davis (Previously the 7th best DT prospect, Mr Irrelevant candidate)
No update page. Man, 3 Greats and a well statted good. However, 2 of the greats have a lot of work to do picking up their poor first 50 TPE investment. And then nobody else of the 9 person class has over 10 TPE.
(Started LB prospect stat collection at 10:00)
17 members of this class now, time to head into the abyss.
Jeff Haraldson (Previously the 10th best LB prospect, Mr Irrelevant Candidate)
No update page. None of the defensive classes so far have put their best foot forward with the oldest candidate.
Gary Goodman (Previously the 9th best LB prospect, Great prospect)
49 TPE. There we go. With 70 in both strength and speed, along with 63 in endurance, Goodman certainly has shown himself to be a high earner. Though I do wonder if Agility actually matters a bunch in terms of the sim for a Linebacker...
Wasrabi Gleel (Previously the 13th best LB prospect, Good prospect)
34 TPE, all of it used on speed. With 73 speed and 70 in strength, Gleel's technically better than Goodman on the important stats for a linebacker.
Gib McGlib (Previously the 6th best LB prospect, Mr Irrelevant candidate)
No update page. I don't always have time to make snarky comments for each one of these.
L'Gazzy Burfict (Previously the 14th best LB prospect, Good prospect)
He's gained 39 TPE, and banked 15 of it. Meanwhile, he's gotten strength and speed up to the all important 70s. This is why I'm kind of worried about Goodman's stat distribution, despite his high TPE, because this is the second guy in a row with TPE in the 30s with a better stat layout among Strength, Speed, and Endurance. And this guy even has 15 more TPE to make the gap greater.
Guy Fields (Previously the 7th best LB prospect, Great prospect)
Now THAT's more like it! With 49 TPE, Fields has boosted his strength to 65, which is kind of low, but has skyrocketed his speed to 75. Considering the jump between stats below 70 and above, and the importance of speed, I might say he has the best layout, and with the fact that he has 70 endurance, I think he definitely does, at least so far. We have a clear front runner right now.
Rusty Rucker (Previously the 12 best LB prospect, Best LB prospect)
I hope Fields enjoyed his time as the Front Runner. Rucker is apparently our third Horseman, and he might have the second highest TPE for a non waiver wire guy that I've ranked? I can't remember them all, but 62 TPE is a LOT. And while 61 strength is VERY weak, Rucker has 80 speed, faster than a lot of Wide Receivers that I ranked.
Chad Thunder (Previously the 4th best LB prospect, Mr Irrelevant candidate)
While Thunder has an update page, he doesn't have any TPE gained on it, so it's time for an age old question. If someone has an update page but hasn't done anything to improve their player, does it count as having an update page?
Regius Goliathus (Previously the 15th best LB prospect, low pick)
Oof. 7 TPE, all banked. Except he also has the previous 50 TPE from creating a new guy, also all banked. This is probably the guy with the lowest stats in the league.
Jimi DeSoto (Previously the 8th best LB prospect, Good prospect)
He's gotten 39 TPE, and gotten up to 75 speed. With those two things in mind, something else had to suffer, and a Strength stat of 59 is definitely the thing that suffered.
Dean McBean (Previously the 2nd best LB prospect, OK prospect)
Haven't seen that ranking in a while, have we? 11 TPE gained, all banked. He had a good stat distribution out of the first 50 at least...
Caleb Judge (Previously the 3rd best LB prospect, OK prospect)
17 TPE, all banked, slightly worse distribution originally than McBean, but similar story all around.
Dexter Jackson (Previously the 11th best LB prospect, OK prospect)
Jackson has earned 21 TPE, but he hasn't banked all of it at least. He moved his strength to a decent 65 to go with 70 speed and 60 endurance. Not the worst statline in the world.
Daniel Bateman (Previously the best LB prospect, low pick)
7 TPE all banked away, at least the original stat distribution is good, geez all 3 of the guys with the best stat distribution through the first 50 are like that.
We also have a new prospect who I didn't rate last time!
Matty Martinsson (OK prospect)
Granted, Martinsson only has 13 TPE gained right now, but unlike some of the others, he's only had a few days to work on it. I could see a lot of improvement, and a starting statline of 65 Strength, 70 Speed, and 70 Endurance would have tied him for 4th in the prospect rankings I did originally. He also has banked all 13 of his gained TPE.
(Started Cornerback prospect data collection at 12:45)
Well, Cornerbacks are also a big class, though I have gotten back the biggest part of the class now. 16 Cornerbacks, and from my memory all of them were at least passable with the first 50 point stat distribution. Let's see how they are in terms of TPE and what they've boosted.
Corran West (Previously the 6th best CB prospect, Good prospect)
West has gained 39 TPE, and now has 80 speed, 52 hands, and 65 endurance. He's shored up his weaker areas and made his strongest area a force to be reckoned with, there aren't many faster guys here.
Naman Fletcher (Previously the 8th best CB prospect, OK prospect)
Fletcher has gained 15 TPE, and banked all of it away. 70 speed, 55 hands, and 65 endurance isn't BAD per se, but it will probably pale in comparison to those who have spent TPE.
Rich Triplet (Previously the 10th best CB prospect, Great prospect)
49 TPE is great. Using it to get to 80 speed is amazing. Using the remaining 14 TPE on Strength and tackling is slightly less so, but 80 speeds and 55 hands is not anything to be disappointed with. Though it does make me say his stats are very close with Corran's right now.
Lukas Hinsetzen (Previously the 2nd best CB prospect, Mr Irrelevant Candidate)
No update page, albeit a very interesting name.
Breezy Wallace (Previously the 14th best CB prospect, Mr Irrelevant Candidate)
No update page and a MUCH WORSE stat distribution than Lukas did through the first 50 TPE.
Gavin LeClerc (Previously the 13th best CB prospect, Mr Irrelevant Candidate)
He has 5 more hands than Wallace, that's how he got above him in the previous rankings, and that's apparently where he stays.
Lugolor Gulogor (Previously the 9th best CB prospect, low pick)
Gulogor has gained 7 TPE, but he has used it. To up tackling by 5 to 50 and up INT by 1 to 61. This is a bad run of form for the CBs, but I think the next guy will slightly make up for it.
Peter Patterson (Previously the 12th best CB prospect, Great prospect)
Patterson's gained 49 TPE, but I'd put him squarely behind West and Triplet as far as stats go. Mainly due to having 78 speed and using the rest on Tackling and Strength, which are not very important for CBs apparently.
Charlie Woody (Previously the 11th best CB prospect, Mr Irrelevant Candidate)
No update page. Charles Woodson would be disappointed.
Mason Gillion (Previously the 13th best CB prospect, OK prospect)
Has gained 17 TPE, and used it to upgrade Intelligence and Hands, a secondary and primary stat respectively. I'd have done more Hands than Intelligence personally, and the TPE is kind of low.
Clay Clark (Previously the 15th best CB prospect, Good prospect)
With his 29 TPE, he upgraded Hands to 55 and Speed to 72. As is, that might make him a worse prospect than, say, Lukas, but he's shown a commitment to improving and that's important. Low floor, decently high ceiling, I'd say.
Ben Anabender (Previously the 4th best CB prospect, OK prospect)
Ben's gained 21 TPE and banked it all. He does, however, have a nice 75 speed and 55 hands to build off of without having invested a point.
James Gath (Previously the 7th best CB prospect, Great prospect)
49 TPE, 9 banked and the rest invested to get up to 81 speed. I think he takes the title from Triplet for the best prospect up to this point, due to the 9 banked TPE. With that he could get up to 54 hands and make it very easy to call him the better player, and he used 10 TPE on that 81st point of speed.
Curtis Blackshear (Previously the best CB prospect, OK prospect)
Blackshear has 10 TPE and used it well to get his speed to 80. He's got plenty of room to grow with more time, and right now his stats are good.
Jeeroy Lenkins (Previously the 5th best CB prospect, OK prospect)
Lenkins has gained 20 TPE and has boosted his speed with it, currently to 78. I feel like he's missing some TPE somewhere but I'm not sure since he doesn't have any marked as Banked. The CBs were very interesting, 3 people with Great Prospect levels of TPE, but one of the Good prospects could have been considered higher than 1 or 2 of those due to better stat distribution. Right now the best prospect technically doesn't have the best stats due to banking a decent chunk of TPE, too.
And because I missed that there was a second page last time...
James Hoffman (Around Peter Patterson in the first 50, Best CB prospect)
Hoffman, why do you have to do this to me? 70 speed, 50 hands, and 70 endurance isn't a terrible statline. Bumping speed up to 80 is wonderful, and then you used the rest on Strength and Agility, plus 4 for Tackling. Normally I'd put you below Gath due to still having 50 hands. The problem with that is that you have 66 TPE.
(Started Safety Prospect Stat Collection at 1:30 PM Saturday)
Tayshawn Crunk (Previously the best S prospect, Good prospect)
Crunk has gained 39 TPE, and boosted his hands up to 64. He also had an amazing 80 speed to begin with, so this looks like a great statline.
Milk Mann (Previously the 8th best S prospect, Great prospect)
Right on the edge of Good and Great in my mind, at least in terms of TPE gained, Mann has earned 44 TPE. Most of this has gone into getting up to 76 speed, but he also got his hands to 48. Which is an improvement, albeit not one that's likely to get him to actually catch balls that hit him in the hands. Thankfully, he's clearly trying to be a Strong Safety.
D'Brickashaw Minshew Sr (Previously the 5th best S prospect, OK prospect)
As far as I can tell, Minshew's gained 10 TPE and banked all of it. He does have a good basis to work on. By they way, Minshew, you've linked the thing, now you just need to apply those 10 TPE somewhere.
Bob Roberts (Previously the 10th best S prospect, low pick)
Considering he wrote a big prospect ranking, I'm surprised he's this low, too! However, as far as I can tell he just has 7 TPE and banked all of it.
Lionel Rumper (Previously the 11th best S prospect, Great prospect)
I had harsh words to say about the guy with 65 speed and 45 hands last time around. He has gained 107 TPE, and spent 55 of it into boosting his speed up to 79. He still has 45 hands. This is apparently the 4th Horseman, but I have to say it's the least impressive, even if right now he's the best Safety prospect.
Teddy Utterstruzen (Previously the 9th best S prospect, OK prospect)
With 25 TPE gained, I might have put Teddy at Good, but 70 speed and 50 hands is not great, even if they are buoyed by 55 strength, 60 agility, and 70 tackling. This looks like a great Strong Safety in the making, but 70 speed is just too slow right now.
Brian Nelson (Previously the 6th best S prospect, low pick)
Nelson has 7 TPE and banked it all, just like Roberts.
Chris Callahan (Previously the 4th best S prospect, low pick)
Callahan, meanwhile, also has 7 TPE, but used it to boost INT to 53.
Nationalsimulation Footballleague (Previously the 3rd best S prospect, Good prospect...and also the Best S prospect)
With only 37 TPE gained, I think Footballleague has better stats than Rumper right now. League has 82 speed and 55 hands, which is something like 35 TPE better in those two very important stats. He also has 7 banked. I think NSFL is the best prospect of the safety class right now
Tony Yeboah (Previously the 7th best S prospect, Great prospect)
Yeboah has boosted strength to 55, speed to 75, and Endurance to 72. He's gained 45 TPE.
Xmus Flaxon Jaxon Waxon (Previously the 2nd best S prospect, Good prospect)
Xmus is interesting. With 32 TPE, he has gotten to 55 hands and 82 speed, same as Footballeague. However, his Strength, which is important for a Safety, is almost 10 lower than Footballeague's. I do like his stat distribution considering his limited TPE. Interestingly enough, there are 3 people with more TPE than the guy I think is the best prospect.
We have a new challenger as well!
Steven Wadham (OK prospect)
Only 7 TPE, but he just posted today. I can't fault him for only having 7 TPE on day one. He boosted Tackling to 55.
(Started K prospect data collection at 2:10)
Jake Fencik (Great prospect)
45 TPE is great, and as kickers may have the easiest job in terms of "what do I upgrade", all of it went to important things. Jake's at 80 Kick Accuracy and 75 Kick power, right now.
Jack Burton (OK prospect)
Burton is less impressive, with only 12 TPE gained. He's banked 7 of it and gotten Kick power to 74. Kick Accuracy's still at 72 for him.
Well, with all that said and done, and a few hours to go before the prospect bowl starts, I’d like to remind everyone that none of this actually matters for that bowl because everyone’s set to 50 TPE. Except Regius Goliathus. With that said, I’m ztarwarz, and if you disagree with my rankings, get earning TPE and maybe they’ll change.
