A new, stout prospect from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Alexander Franklin is ready to declare for the DSFL/ISFL draft next season. Standing at six foot three inches tall and weighing around three hundred and thirty one pounds. Alex might not be the biggest member of the offensive line pool, but he’s got plenty of heart and determination to succeed. Modeling himself after the great Travis Fredrick, Alex typically plays at guard but has rotated in at center when needed. Alex’s former coach and teammates all agreed that having Franklin in the locker room was a blessing. While he might not be a leader of the offensive line, he will fit in as a great personality and a hard worker.
We were able to get a few words from the offensive line prospect.
Upon being asked what his plans were for the league:
“I’m here to stop sacks. Been doing it for the last eight years of my life. No reason to stop now.”
We also asked if there was any team in particular he was looking to go to:
“I just want to go somewhere where I can make a difference. If any of y’all QB’s are tired of getting hit let your team know to draft me.”
Are you looking to break any records in your first season?:
”If I can. Focusing on improving and being the best I can be. I wanna win championships. Records would be great but they’re not my main focus right now.”
Is there a reason you decided to play offensive line instead of another position like tight end or defense?:
”I’m the oldest of six. I’m used to breaking up fights between my siblings and making sure they’re safe. So it just seemed to be a natural fit. Besides denying people the satisfaction of getting to our QB is great.”
We would like to thank Alex for his time and for all of you dedicated readers out there. Stay tuned for more updates as he progresses.
