The Las Vegas Legion have been having a very unimpressive season in this second season of the NSFL. The team is pretty much a lock for dead last in the league standings. They sold their future in the next few drafts in order to compete right away and it has massively backfired on the team. The Legion do not have a single pick until the 3rd round of the Season 3 draft. In the locker room players are frustrated, tempers are flaring, and some have contemplated quitting the game. If you think things are bad right now, it's about to be worse for the Legion.
Thaddeus Bullard who was drafted in the 9th round of the Season 2 Entry Draft by the Las Vegas Legion is considered by many to be a very promising but raw prospect in many circles around the league is considering quitting the game after 1 season with the Legion. It's been rumored that Bullard has been very unmotivated with the prospect of playing for the expansion franchise due to the moves that the front office have made which set the team back many seasons. This is surprising considering the antics Bullard had pulled off in order to get drafted by the Legion. In order to get drafted by the Legion it is believe that Bullard flunked his draft interviews on purpose to go to his once dream club. These antics have damaged Bullard's reputation around the league and because this is the only year of his contract, it is anticipated that Vegas will cut ties with Bullard and he will become a free agent. Even though Bullard will become a free agent, it is widely believed that no team will offer Bullard a contract due to his reputation of being untrustworty and a thug. It is because of this that Bullard will contemplate retirement.
Should he retire from the game, he does have an alternative option waiting for waiting for him. Earlier this week Paul Levesque who is more popularly known as Triple H came out on Sportscenter and offered Bullard a very lucrative 5 year contract with a base salary of $1 million a year and bonuses that will up to increase his earnings to $5 million dollars a year. When talking about Bullard, Triple H had this to say.
“You know I've heard all the negative things that sources have said about Bullard, but honestly talking to the kid he comes off as a very genuine person. He's told me a lot about his past and how he came from rough beginnings and also how he might not have a football contract again after this season and I think it's really unfortunate that teams will be missing out on a talent like him. I told him right before end of our conversation to come down to the Performance Center when his football contract ends and come train with us. We'll take care of him and give him a chance to succeed.”
“The NSFL is a big talent source for us. There's hundreds and hundreds of elite athletes in the world that you can pick up because they have larger than life personalities, they're great athletes, and they're huge fans of the WWE, or they're looking for a chance to succeed outside of football in a similar athletic environment such as the WWE. Thaddeus is someone who I feel is looking for that chance and if he does come to us, we will help him succeed.”
“I think with Bullard, we have a chance to make him the perfect superstar for our system. He's got a good physique, he's athletic, charismatic, he's got a good voice on the mic, plus he's been a fan of this business his entire life. I feel he will make the jump from football to the WWE.”
Should Bullard leave the NSFL for the WWE, it will leave a hole on the defensive line for a Legion team that already has a lot of holes. Although the hole created by Bullard's departure will not be a concerning hole for the Las Vegas Legion. Despite having below average defensive ends, Las Vegas have two of the best defensive tackles in the league, Vinny Cox, and Mark Ramrio. The Legion's defense in general is promising, but it is the offensive side of the ball where the Legion have huge holes. I believe for the Legion and Thaddeus Bullard it is best for both sides to mutually part ways.
