Well boys! The DSFL season has wrapped up! We had a loaded cornerback class heading into the DSFL regular season. It was headlined by some of the people on this list (sadly Bly didn’t get the sim luck stats) Here are the top 5 corners for the DSFL regular season.
5. Kiko Bakari (@luckymumbo)
Bakari finished up the DSFL regular season with 51 tackles, 4 picks (1 for a TD) and 11 passes defensed. He also managed a sack which is amazing because CB blitz is such a stupid play. I don’t know too much about this player as he has gone inactive but that is still a respectable stat line.
4. Jason Williams
Williams ended the season with 4 picks 13 passes defended and 48 tackles. That’s what you want out of a corner. A guy who can knock down passes and create turnovers. He was barely able to edge out Bakari due to the extra passes defended, but the two are pretty much neck and neck.
3. Tegan Atwell (@Jiggly_333)
Tegan Atwell has a very similar stat line to the other 2 corners on this list so far. 4 interceptions, 50 tackles and 15 passes defended. Like Williams this is what you want out of a corner. Even though she is slightly undersized for the position at 5’9, she had a truly solid season. Atwell proved that girls can make it too in this league and I expect her to do great things in the NSFL.
Now on to the top 2 corners! These 2 both had great seasons that set them apart from the others on this list and WILL be great for whichever NSFL team chooses to draft them.
2. Gregory Fletcher (@The_Hero)
When I was making this list Fletcher didn’t pop out at first. So what, he only had 3 interceptions! Why would a corner that only had 3 picks be this high on the list? Fletcher had a league leading 17 passes defended! That is pretty insane. He also has the lowest tackles of any corner on this list at 47. While at first that seems bad, think about it. Combined with his 17 PD’s it paints a picture of something amazing. He didn’t have the opportunity to tackle as much. Lockdown. Fletcher will have no trouble in the NSFL at all, and he should be expected to be just as good.
1. Terrell Brister (@tbone415)
Yeah, it’s me. So what? This is my list!
Brister led all corners with 6 interceptions (1 for a TD) and was 3rd in passes defended by corners with 14 (his teamate Eddy Kim led the league somehow even though he is a 50TPE inactive). He had 67 tackles and somehow managed to force 2 fumbles. An elite season just like Gregory Fletcher. Brister did struggle to adapt to the DSFL but after the first couple of weeks he played at an elite level. The 6’1 Brister should be ready for the big receivers in the NSFL but only time will tell.
