Well I was right about my predictions, Palm Beach beat out Tijuana and my Pythons beat out Norfolk. Although it may have been closer than I would have like...Anyway This will be a very difficult ultimini, as each team has been on fire lately after struggling in the first part of the season. Palm Beach will travel to Portland in a highly anticipated match up. Here is how each team stacks up vs the other
Palm Beach Solar Bears
The Solar Bears led by booter have been a dangerous team, after his bots were free of rust accumulated over the offseason they kicked into full gear and have been steamrolling teams. Although due to a poor start to the season they won't be having home field advantage, which could hurt them pretty bad. Luckily for booter these bots are pretty strong, we still do not know what they are made of (even though I have asked him in a recent presser) and they just don't seem to be beaten easily. After all they made the Luchadores look like childs play and just decimated them. It was a disappointing ending of the season for the Luchadores and unfortunately they just didn't play very well. Now we get to see the Solar Bears play in the biggest game in the DSFL.
Portland Pythons
The team everyone is rooting for because humans must overcome the robots. For the second year in a row @PDXBaller has proven that he is a genius, and despite many being uncertain about his moves during the draft he continues to dominate. At the beginning of the season some were saying that PDX made some questionable picks and that the Pythons would not be doing very well in S5, he has certainly proven them wrong. Looking at the Pythons they are the best team on paper across the league, boasting the best quarterback, wide receiver(s), tight end, running back, and safety. This team is something to fear for certain. After a slow start their advantage became noticeable, and victories started pouring in. The big disadvantage for the Pythons in this matchup is the offensive line differential. The Pythons get 30TPE bots to protect franchise quarterback Austin Roenick while Booter gets the deluxe 70TPE version. This will be a very difficult game for the Pythons and they are hoping to come away with a win.
As a Python my main concern is the offensive line differential. Our team is awesome but unfortunately with only 30TPE offensive line bots Roenick doesn't have very long to throw the ball. Overall I think this game doesn't come down as much to the players, as much to the coaches. I believe that whichever coach (Booter or PDX) can out gameplan the other will win. Make sure to tune in Thursday night for the showdown.
