Hi, my name is Joliet L. Christ and I am here today to tell everyone including the GM's in the NSFL that I should be first on your list when you are considering quarterbacks. People oo-ing and ah-ing over Falconi but it is whatever, she can go to Philly and flop, that is fine with me. As for other QBs in the draft, I can't even name one right now that should be considered earlier than maybe the 4th round.
Why should you draft Joliet to your NSFL team?
1) High TPE Earner
I am one of the top TPE Earners in the Season 9 DSFL draft. I read the Create a Player thing that said QBs should be high earners and took that to heart so I earn and earn. I even missed Ultimus TPE last year so I could be higher but I will be at the cap when season 10 starts so there is that. I do my work here and it shows, it won't taper off after being drafted either.
2) Don't plan on becoming a free agent
I would ideally like to be a one-team guy in my career in the NSFL. I know it is not always possible and things can change such as management or personnel of a team that might make it unbearable to play there. That being said, with the right situation, I am your QB for a long time. I plan on fighting regression a few years and having a long, hall-of-fame career.
3) Build a rapport
Hey, draft me, show me a good team environment and you could get my future players wanting to come back. Obviously, this is way down the road but hey it is something.
4) You like winning
I am going to be the best QB in the league, and I plan on winning trophies. My main goal is team success and then personal accolades come later. If you want to build a winning environment, make me your QB.
Why shouldn't you draft me?
1) You want me to change positions
I am a quarterback. I will not play another position and if you draft me for the purpose of changing me to WR or something, I will not sign. Teams will draft me based on my ability to quarterback and run an offense, if you are just drafting me to add my user to the locker room, that is fine, but I would rather ride it out as a QB in the DSFL then play WR or something in the NSFL as Joliet Christ.
2) You have a long-term QB
I am not wanting to spend my career in the DSFL or as a backup. I don't even like splitting time either so I will not be a gimmick QB. I want to be a high TPE earner. I want to be YOUR high TPE earner. Why would you bench that?
3) Do you like losing?
Read number 4 in the "Why you should draft me section." Nobody should want to lose games, we are here to win championships and MVPs and stuff like that. Losing does nothing but ruin a team's name and their players' morales.
Teams that should draft me:
1) Baltimore
Baltimore is SUPER high on my list of desired destinations. They need a QB of the future with Blocksdale aging and I could be that guy. They made it to the Ultimus this season and it is a well-run team and something I would love to be a part of.
2) Yellowknife
Yellowknife is in a similar situation with an aging Akselsen taking the snaps. They also need a QB of the future and are used to having Mobile QBs. I don't need to be a mobile QB, it is just my current archetype but I believe this is the best place I can go to really expand upon the skills of a mobile QB. This seems to be a likely destination with YKW high in the draft but we shall see. The team needs a few pieces but could definitely benefit from grabbing their QB of the future.
3) Arizona
I want to play with Bucky Barnes, and Fitzpatrick could be traded elsewhere to make room for a true franchise QB. Arizona reached out to me even before the DSFL draft and showed interest before taking Fitzpatrick in last year's draft. I believe in time, I will be the better pro and that should leave an opening on any team to come in and grab Fitzpatrick away.
4) Philadelphia
Another team needing a QB, but all signs point to Falconi being the pick. I don't need to be the number one QB off the board, and it could be a good thing. Philadelphia seems like they need some work with their roster and it might take awhile to win there. I would not mind playing for Philadelphia, but in terms of a chance to win, it is not my ideal situation but I am willing to help turn the team around. I believe they'll go Falconi based off her user's history here but that is probably it. She does not have much more TPE and I have stated that I could change from a mobile QB if need be.
5) NOLA
I mean, they just won the Ultimus, who wouldn't want to go here? But alas, they have their QB of the future in Maximus. Maximus is amazing though, don't give that up NOLA.
6) Colorado
Young but improving, but Applehort is the guy there. Colorado is close to South Dakota where Christ was born but alas, there is not a logical fit.
7) Orange County
Also have a QB of the future in Showbiz. They used a pick on him and they should try him out. Would be nice weather to play in though.
8) San Jose
I actually don't know anything about them, but I think they have a future QB in Pennington if I am not mistaken so this likely takes them off the places to play. I list them last because I have not looked into them much as I knew I would not go there at all.
My DSFL Wishes
1) I want to win an Ultimini if I am back in the DSFL which seems likely, I am willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.
2) I want to be THE guy. In Portland this season, I was overshadowed by our star running backs and probably for good reason. I don't want to throw it 50 times per game but would like a chance to shine.
3) I am owned by Portland and will do all I can for the Pythons while under contract. I play there as long as I am wanted, if I hear or think that I am not wanted there, I will take my talents to Norfolk to revive the dead Seawolves...or be traded elsewhere.
Did I just waste your time? Probably.
Are you wanting me as your QB? Probably.
The waiting game starts now!
