The new teammate that I am most excited to play with is surprisingly a former enemy. Last year we only might have only met on the field twice but both times he showed an unrelenting preasure and a sack in each meeting.
Rob Anderson and I were competitors; but this year we are both rookie linebackers that were picked up in the middle rounds of the draft by the Arizona Outlaws. The next step of our football journey is together and I cannot wait to see what he can pass on to me from the San Antonio Marshals. He has a special talent for getting to the QB racking up 10 sacks last year and I hope he can help me up my game while we both learn this new defensive system. He has been a beast in the film room, on the practice field, and especially in the weight room. Working with him has been an amazing time and we have been having a blast pushing each other to be the best that we can in the NSFL. This work on the field has definitely paid off a single game in as we have both got to the QB and sacked him dirtying up his uniform. [div align=center]

As the Colorado Yeti continue their ascent up the standings in the NSFL, we were lucky enough to not only draft some amazing players to our locker room, but we also signed an AWESOME linebacker out of free agency, A.C. Hackett (@Deusolis). I’m incredibly excited to see what these new players do. Hackett gives the Yeti an insane linebacking core of longtime Yeti Jonathon Saint, Ishigawa, and Hackett. That alone will really improve the defense. As for the rookies, I can’t wait to see what Dwayne Aaron does on the NSFL level. After eviscerating the DSFL last season, the number 3 overall pick in the draft has a clear path to a lot of WR work for the Yeti. I can’t wait to watch Storm Woods and Bobby Ruckus join up with Michael Tillman and Andre Bly, Jr to form the secondary of the future. They’re going to have bumps in the road, but as time goes on, they’re only going to keep getting better and better. And hell, even Micycle McCormick will chip in the kicking game. Just one season removed from the Hawks slapping us around the field, we played them extremely tough in Week 1. While we lost, you can tell that with the additions that this year’s Yeti team isn’t one to take lightly. There’s a lot of new faces here as Colorado gets better and better, and it’s going to be really exciting to watch it all unfold. (243)

The Colorado Yeti haven’t been winning a lot over the past few years, but the influx of new talent has the team poised to make a big leap in the upcoming season. Dwayne Aaron, the guy that Nick Pierno had been wishing the team would get since Aaron’s first game in the Developmental Simulation Football League, is already the Yeti’s No. 2 receiver, a fantastic locker room presence and a super hard worker. He’s the type of guy that’s improving each week and could easily find himself in offensive rookie of the year contention. Nick Pierno has also gotten to know rookie Micycle McCormick, a rookie out of Rutgers who spent last year in the DSFL, really well, too. After all, he is the holder for all of McCormick’s field goal attempts. The Yeti, who lost several games by just one score last year, need to have kicking game consistency and McCormick is looking like the long-term solution the team was looking for. Last, but not least, the flashy free agent signing AC Hackett. Currently the highest paid player on the team, Hackett joins arguable the best linebacker core in the league with Jonathon Saint and Haruki Ishigawa—it’s clear the Yeti defense is just a few secondary pieces away from being one of the NSFL’s elite.

Watched this guy torch us last season in KC. Glad to be on the same sideline this year

In Orange county I am looking most forward to the additions we made on defense. We added to amazing players in Elvin Enchant and Bogdan Wojcik. These guys were so good that the two time champion Otters had to move pieces around their already elite defense just to make room for them. Ian Bavitz had to move out of position out to strong safety. There was absolutely no way that these two players could not be on the field. The DSFL was no place for them as they are elite to say the least. I think both rookies will be amazing to watch all season long and could be the new faces of the defense while some of the other guys are getting older. Elvin Enchant fit right in and made a big impact the first game recording his first sack of his career. Bogdan Wojcik also saw a sack in his first NSFL game. I feel as though he was double teamed most of the game which allowed other players to look a little brighter. The offensive side of the ball didnt see any new players but they should definitely start looking as they have arguably the oldest offense in the league. For now they can still get it done but it’s only a matter of time until they no longer can compete.

The Baltimore Hawks have revamped their front seven with two awesome additions. Noah Goodson and Austin Roenick have come in and immediately bolstered a line backing core that was significantly worse in season 5 than it is in season 6. In addition to improving the line backing core it hallowed line backer Erasmo Broadway to bulk up and move to defensive tackle. This move will certainly help the Baltimore Hawks improve over all this season. The Hawks now with these two additions have an active at 8 out of 11 positions on defense - which has got to be one of the highest in the league. This makes the Hawks one of the favorites for the Ultimus this year.
In addition to the impact that they have had on the field, toivo and leafer (Noah Goodson and Austin Roenick respectively) have been incredible additions to the locker room in Baltimore. They are both well known sim league guys from SHL and are awesome dudes to have around. The addition of both was a surprise this off season as the Arizona Outlaws traded Goodson away for almost nothing and Roenick slipped in the draft because of his original position which was quarterback. These moves were huge for the Hawks. 208
In Baltimore, we have several new faces joining our roster for S6. During the off season we were able to acquire Noah Goodson in a trade with Arizona. He joins our team as a starting LB and fills a huge need for us. His presence in our locker room has been a welcoming addition and I am excited for addition in our previously struggling front 7.
Joining him in the LB corps is controversial first round draft pick, Austin Roenick. After lighting up the score board in his DSFL rookie season as QB, he spent his off-season conditioning to become a bruiser along-side Goodson. Bulking up and switching to the defensive side of the ball has been a godsend for us. Adding 2 active LBs to our already effective secondary gives that that much more of a chance to succeed. Another exciting addition to the Hawks’ roster was the late round pick for Michael Vick. Although he is being sent back down to the DSFL for another season to hone and groom his craft, he is still a part of the Hawks’ locker room and as everyone knows, activity breeds activity. The S6 season is starting off on the right path for Baltimore and they control their own destiny. 209 [div align=center][/select]

The Yeti have added a couple of key pieces in the latest off-season. The draft was a win for us, picking up a key draft pick for next year in addition to getting the guys we wanted. So far, it’s easy to see that Dwayne Aaron is going to be a difference maker. His presence in the locker room is a big one, and it's just a matter of time until he starts putting up big numbers.
But the biggest addition for me, personally, is a guy who changes the way I play and makes me more responsible every day. I'm talking of course about our biggest free agent acquisition in years, A.C. Hackett. To have finally completed construction on what may be our strongest position group, Saint’s Row, feels like the beginning of a new era. We can already see a difference in practice every day. Saint is out there calling the shots and making plays like he always does. I’m doing what I can, calling out coverage audibles and identifying what the offense is giving us. And now we have Hackett, who is a machine. He racks up tackles all over the field, showing up in places before the offense even thinks to get a blocker out on him. My position group is finally complete, and for the next couple of years, you can expect the middle of the field to be locked down. Haruki Ishigawa Word count: 237 |
