The sim WILL use TEs if you're set as a primary receiver or if it's in the strategy your team is implementing.
85 will have impact. Trust me. If I had 85 speed as a DE I would destroy the offensive line. But I agree, 85 is good enough for a TE. They will be faster than a DE but not insane. TEs are a mix of the Fullback and the WR. The fact that a TE is an all-around guy with decent speed and hands he's already good.
The point of a TE in this sim is to be the middle guy from blocking and receiving. If you really want a receiving Tight End, I suggest you make a WR and plug him at TE, like someone said up there in the other posts
Using a TE can be versatile as he can help in the blocking game which is his job, even if he is a vertical threat. The blocking with a TE is very underrated as he could easily stop an Edge Rusher.
