This is where I am torn.  Their GMs are BRAND NEW.  We know they weren't complicit or even aware.  Basically, I think the punishment was too soft on Noble, but too harsh on the team.

I think I would have let him play, BUT I think the penalty should be 146 TPE, double what he illegally gained, and the money.

The difference to me is that no games have been affected this season. However, if you take my suggested punishment for Noble and apply it to Gibson, he would have been reduced to -60 TPE, worse than a bot.

Well we suspended him for the season on our own immediately, and ALL games were effected last year by Noble. His TPE effected them in S1 (slightly) and S2 (significantly). The Yeti shouldn't be punished, but they just happen to have a bad guy. Just like IRL the Browns shouldn't be punished for Josh Gordon or the Cowboys for Elliot, but shit like this happens IRL. They should absolutely be without Noble. It's not their fault, but they happen to have a player who's a bad dude.

Compare that to Gibson who led all TEs in TDs. Also, did you know that Kyubee only threw ONE interception when targeting Gibson last year? He threw FIVE targeting Sanderson. The difference made by Gibson's TPE was felt across the league.

As for Noble, the difference in S1 was negligible, as he started really slow.  And in S2, did it really help him?  He was still a really bad QB, easily bottom half.  Compare that to Gibson who led all TEs in TDs.  Also, did you know that Kyubee only threw ONE interception when targeting Gibson last year?  He threw FIVE targeting Sanderson.  The difference made by Gibson's TPE was felt across the league.

Noble had an AWFUL offensive line. Who knows how much it helped him. But having the extra TPE likely added at least one win. AND this was intentional cheating by an active player. I don't see how you can argue Gibson is worse, though I can see the argument that it had more of an effect. If your argument is that it had extra impact I get that, but should we have results based punishment? That doesn't really make sense.

You do have me on one thing, though, which is that the action is more important than the impact. We KNOW Noble intended to cheat. For the record, I *did* say that I wanted Noble punished more harshly. That's my issue with the punishment. My proposal would have knocked him down to the middle of the pack and guaranteed he would never be a top tier player.

My point is that when the Gibson stuff came up, you said it had no significant affect. For Noble, you said it likely gave them a win.
